      because of all the lakes do you ever run into snakes and aligators?

      @@Vforfreedom sorry for the delayed response. Yes, occasionally. I wouldn't walk a poodle around some of the larger lakes.

    I grew up in Deltona & returned after over 6 years away.
    Very accurate information. What's wrong is mostly trivial: there's currently 4 Publix stores in town.
    It's an excellent place to live if you work from home and/or like to stay home.
    Great city parks. (Wes Crile is my favorite)
    The city government tends to absorb properties just outside the city limits so they can tax them. Since there's few businesses, the bulk of the city's revenue comes from residential property taxes. So if you don't like Deltona, make sure you buy either far from the city limits or within another incorporated city as the county won't fight to keep you. I believe state law limits the city's expansion westward to the I-4 interstate & state road 415 limits the east side. As such, the city tries to expand into unincorporated Volusia County areas to the north & south. There's still areas outside of Deltona but the west of S.R. 415 so watch out there.

    Been here since 2003 and I’ve grown to love it, but a flyover from I-4 to 415 / the third area would ease congestion. We also need a true town center with quality restaurants, playhouse, amphitheater, etc.. I feel we’ll get these in time with Amazon bringing so many jobs to the area.

      Yes, you're right about that. Maybe it will come. DeBary is building a downtown area, I'm sure Deltona will catch on too, though Deltona is more widespread.

    It’s very crowded lots of traffic and easy to get lost as the old streets go round and round

      It can be that at times. I think the roads had to go around all the lakes. Good thing for Google Maps! Thanks for you comment.

      Thank you! I'm a licensed Realtor® and, as with all KW Heritage Realty offices, my business is independently owned and operated. I record my own videos, with help from an associate, an assistant and a freelance video editor. I'd be happy to help find the fam a home if they plan to move to this area.

    is it a college town?

    • @TheShaverGroup
      @TheShaverGroup  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, Deltona and Kissimee are not college towns. Deland, which is just west and north of Deltona is home to Stetson University. Kissimee is a tourist attraction town, it's close to Disney.

      UCF in Orlando is one of the largest universities in the country and is about 40” away. Nearby we have Stetson University and Daytona State College satellite campus.

    Love Deltona but the over development and all the things that come with it is quickly becoming an issue.
