  • 10 Cheapest Places in Florida to Buy a Home. (nice places)
Welcome back. Let’s take a look at Florida.
Affordable housing in nice places is getting harder and harder to find these days.
Today we will list 10 places in Florida that are affordable and still a nice place to live.
So what is affordable? Well, that would be places that have a cost of living and housing around the national average. What is a nice place to live? That will be a place with a crime rate and unemployment below the national average.
We also look into how the locals grade their town or neighborhood.
Florida has a great housing market if you know where to look. If you are from Florida you may already know about these places already.
Florida has been gaining population for the last few decades and it really doesn't look like that will slow down anytime soon.

For 2023, it’s hard to nail down specific predictions for the housing market is because it’s not yet clear how quickly or how much the Federal Reserve can bring down inflation and borrowing costs without tanking buyer demand for everything from homes to cars.

@Craig Daniels Given current recession pressures, it is unlikely that the stock will yield substantial returns in the near term. However, it may be a suitable investment opportunity. I will monitor market conditions and consider purchasing when there is an improvement in the relevant economic indicators, any idea which stocks this may be?

I've lived here all my life and the cost of everything has gone up 200% in the last 7 years. 7 years ago I paid 850 bucks a month for a beautiful 2 bedroom condo 3 miles from the beach. Same place now is over 2000 a month! And no wages haven't gone up. They only increase, if you're lucky, by 2-3% every year. I am thinking after living here all my life I might have to move when I retire. Retired people are moving away from the state that's known as the retirement state! 🤨😵‍💫🤔😳

I had lived in the Tampa Bay Area for 25 years. It’s mostly flat with little in the way of scenic topography, the beaches are not very interesting, and the variety and amount of bugs are way worse than in the tropics where I now live. I checked out 'all over' FL about twenty years ago, when searching for a new place to live, leaving an overcrowded SO. CA. I fell for the area west of Ocala after seeing the 'horse country. But then the real estate woman who was a native said if you see a puddle of water assume an alligator is living in it, but you will be ok. That and watching the weather channel and the storms I opted for a flyover state in the middle of the U.S. with lots of rivers, lakes, and tall trees. Am very happy with the decision. Much lower cost of living and very low crime in the rural areas.

Native of Virginia from the lower peninsula and now I reside on the Treasure Coast in St.Lucie county and I personally really like it here overall!. I enjoy the St.Lucie West area and Tradition area, as well driving down the A1A and going to Jensen Beach. I would say Port Saint Lucie is relatively safe for its population and the county as a whole although I’m not crazy about Fort Pierce. I do like the close access to the I95, US1 the Turnpike and the A1A. There’s a good bit of stores, shopping and food places to venture to. As for houses it’s going up and houses are always being built on any land that can be used. I lived for about a year so I’m still learning so much about the region, but I’ve loved Florida ever since I was kid, all in all I’m content👍🏾

Any house in Florida built in 1995 or after by law has to have hurricane straps on the trusses that connect all the way through the walls to the foundation. So roofs don’t pop off anymore, unless you are on the coast and get a direct hit. Then your whole house is gone.

Florida always has a higher unemployment rate than the national average :/ it's tough to make it here if you are not retired and living off of a big lifetime savings because of intermittent unemployment. I work in the fashion Industry and have lived in FL for 20 years but when I do find myself getting laid off or the business I work for closes, I find in FL it takes much longer to find a good job than in other states. The incredibly low $275 a week maximum re-employment compensation in FL is pretty cruel. Come here with money if you want to avoid a crisis from time to time.

Last year, Ocala, Florida was the 5th Fastest Growing City in America. It's got the beautiful rolling hills of Horse Country to it's west, the Ocala National Forest to the east, and is just over an hour from either coast. There are some of the best natural springs in Florida nearby, and the population of the city itself is only about 60, 000.
Wait... I shouldn't have said anything about it! To be fair, it's north central Florida where Walmart, pick-up trucks, gators, and swamp buggies rule, so just forget I mentioned it.

      1. Hurricanes
      2. 0 snowy winters, the only seasons are summer and fall. Both completely unwantedly overinviting things
      3. Tied to #2 it is far far far far too populated just like California, Texas, and New York
      4. It will flip like a coin from affordable to unaffordable (just like Arizona did right after Biden became the president)
      5. Too too too too many mosquitoes (I can tolerate reptiles and arachnids but not cockroaches and mosquitoes)
About hurricanes not being "that bad" I just don't believe it. If it can break down my house along with my treasure inside of it (or cause something else like a tree to break it), shut down all my power, and even kill me like a tornado can then for me it is not worth living where they will be

Just research a lot of places online and then your heart homes onto one city or region. Then research more and you will know which place you want to call home. Then look for home to rent or buy and settle down. Every region has a very different vibe. South Florida [Miami/Ft Lauderdale/West Palm beach] totally different from the Orlando area which is very different from Tampa/St Pete. True Floridian and your prices are way off. There are much better places that could’ve been on this list. The best place that you have on here is probably Ocala and even with all of that all of these places really don’t have anything and they have to drive extremely far to go to places which is a given the more rural you go. Orlando has lots of options for either shopping recreation etc. just to crowded…bottom line once you stay 45 minutes out from the city center of Orlando you’re going to do bulk trips to the grocery store.
*I was in Tavares the other day it’s ugly hell over there. No good jobs.
    *I hate Jacksonville 🤮
*Ocala is cute but too close to Kissimmee/Poinciana which extremely congested
*Port orange is full of trailer park home.
    *Longwood is just bland.
*Winter Springs is cute but not much there.

@@WorldAccordingToBriggs Can you please investigate where the biggest expat communities in Mexico are? Especially the one where Jessie Ventura lives, or an expat agritopia in Mexico on the ocean. OR, a special on agritopias in the US, like the 'One Small Town' Ubuntu startup near Austin, Texas?
I'm thinking I could live close by for way less and have lots of Americans living nearby, so I won't feel cut off from the US like I did when I spent 15 months in Mexico City.

Love Florida, I live in Safety Harbor (across the bay from Oldsmar) as a 23 year old male and I bike everywhere and everyday is a dream. I just don’t understand why people complain about it so much, cause shocker the whole state is very different everywhere you go, and when I travel I find something cool off the beaten path. Idk I just tell people give it a try, cause Florida right now is growing. And I personallly think for the better, I have friends from all over the world and we all are on this adventure together and there is so much to do. Right now there are so many new shops and restaurants popping up (Thank you Governor DeSantis!) even my neighborhood has homes that are being renovated or even new homes. It’s very exiting being apart of the growth of Florida and you will never get bored.

This sounds like the type of place I’m looking for, for a temporary time. My worry is being bored(which no offense, most of the places I. The video looked that way) and not having easy access to everything. I need to be close to the ocean, good public transportation as a back up, lots of diverse stores and people, and plenty of nature(that’s actually enjoyable vs everything wants to eat you) 😝. I live in a very metro area outside NYC so there’s always something to do ;). Also a very safe are is a big priority to me.

@@erinaustin2157 Safety Harbor is very safe and nice. In Pinellas County if you ever get bored, it’s your fault. Nature is beautiful here but if mountain hiking is your thing then I would not recommend it.

@@retiredpornape Agreed, Pinellas County has a lot to do. There's some pretty bad areas to avoid, but most of the area is still pretty safe.

@@erinaustin2157You're in a metro area, so you are used to slow flow of traffic. Mixah's bike seems like a good solution to me. I don't know about public transportation because I've never relied on it, but things to do in The Tampa metro are varied & plentiful. Nature abounds and if you leave the gators alone, they'll leave you alone.😉

@@erinaustin2157 Yah I grew up in Fairfield County, Connecticut. I was very close to Boston, Philly was a 3 hour train. In Florida, the Tampa airport is 20 min way, downtown is 25 min. Hooneymoon island is 15 min away, same with Clearwater beach. Saint Pete is 35 min, Sarasota is an hour, we have weeki wacki an hour away with it’s beautiful spring. Orlando is 2 hours away and Miami is 4 hours away. Traffic In the area is very timed in Pinellas county, so just know when those tiems are and you can somewhat avoid traffic. I would say everything is SUPER accessible. My suggestion if your looking at the area. I would avoid anything below the gulf to bay road line, So good towns are Dunedin, Saftey Harbor, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, East Lake, Odessa (more land for your money) and Oldsmar. Right now Dunedin has about 10 new shops being built, they have a brand new city hall which is beautiful. Idk I’ve been here 4 years and I’m still finding new things to do. Connecticut was getting boring and unlivable with its taxes

It sure isn’t Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County. Miami my home town since 1956, moved in 1982, but it’s extremely expensive to live in these three counties.

Places are cheaper for a reason that could be everything from low unemployment to pollution there is not such a thing as somewhere nice and cheap in America because of cheap financing
