The reality is charter and or private schools only want the students are performing the best the students who cannot make the grade in charter or private schools. This will allow the conservative Wacko's to continue to demonize public schools.

If charter/ private schools are fundamentaly better than public schools, then why not require them to take the worst performing students and transform them into the best students?

How many working class parents ( some who work multiple jobs) have the time to take their kids to ( and pick their kids up from) charter/ private schools? But of course, they don't want all students in their schools

Conservatives are essentially trying to starve funds from public schools and eliminate any ideas their children are exposed to that do not jive with conservatives.

The problem with tiny homes is the dishonest marketing. It’s just a camper unless you buy land, and get utilities hooked up. If you put it in the country, digging a well and making a septic field can cost as much as the house, that’s after you buy the land. It’s not cheap at all

I live in Deltona and it sucks! Non-enforced noise ordinance, cops are a joke, no restaurants, even though they were promised to us, just fast food. No high paying jobs, congested, very poor water quality, not drinkable, your toilet bowl gets stained and laundry smells like rotten eggs. It's way overpriced now, and I live in 1 of the best of the neighborhoods he was talking about. The houses are close together on top of each other and car break-ins are very common. The houses now are way overpriced. No need to move here.

My subdivision is right on 17-92. Turning left out of here northbound when traffic is heavy is already like playing Frogger. And its only getting worse. Also, what about the schools? DeBary Elementary is already overcrowded. As are River Springs and University HS. There has to be a coordinated plan to help infrastructure keep pace with growth. Although I would be perfectly happy with growth stopping altogether, even though I realize that isn't realistic.

I just made my first year in Florida since July 31st and I’ve been living in Deland since December 2023 & I LOVE IT! I am 40 mins away by e bike to my job at Stetson university and my bank and shopping centers. I see cows across the street from my patio while having my coffee in the mornings and all I see are birds and critters and trees and sunny skies. Even rainy days are beautiful. I never want to leave! 🫶🏼🥰

I miss the 70’s and 80’s Deltona, before we incorporated. It’s just way too big and populated now. We got double lane roads where there was never any roads growing up.

I grew up in Sanford from 1966-1982. I rarely ever went to the beach at all. First too far to go. The weather is unbearable at times. We had gators and plenty of snakes through out the area. And the bugs were horrible and mosquitoes during the summer were disgusting. Never had issue with termites we had the traditional cement block house. Bats never bothered to me at all. When I was growing up crime was not that big of problem. True do have to check out the area. That goes for ANY city you love in.

Yeah, Orlando might have the night life, but they have a lot more crime then Orange City.

I think the only thing an hoa should be is more of a neighborhood watch kind of deal. Check for suspicious activity. And when it comes to the house the only things they should have control over is yards that get overgrown and out of control, or anything that would condemn a building. Other than that they shouldn’t be allowed to tell you if you can have a bbq or what type of car to have in the driveway.

If you buy your house then you are the only person who can dictate what happens there. Hoa's are a gateway for toxic individuals to act maliciously
