Excellent video. Fabi was a good driver. Talking about unlucky drivers, Keke Rosberg retired FOUR times in the 1985 season from the 1st place in the race. Still he beat his teammate Nigel Mansell easily in points. British media doesn't seem to want to remember that LOL.

British media were notorious for how bias they always do

I'm glad someone's finally talking about Fabi, he's more than earned it

Yea, you don’t get a pile in a Toleman without being rapid, even senna couldn’t do that

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that, despite claiming three pole positions, Fabi never actually officially led a lap in his F1 career!

Great video! I wonder, if Leclerc never wins a title could he be considered a Fabi-esque driver? Also, I appreciate the fact that you mention Pastor Maldonado. While crash prone and not great in the races, he was indeed very fast over one lap.

I wouldn’t put leclerc as a fabi esque driver because he’s won several races. Admittedly Teo didn’t win due to reasons often beyond his control but it wouldn’t seem right to me

Saw Fabi race at Portland, he was quickest in the turn 4/5 complex and was very smooth.

That’s cool, was that during his Indycar career?

I’m pretty sure “one-shot qualifying” would save F1’s sprint race idea…

      That’s something I hadn’t thought of

God of Q!? Are you serious? Fabi was definetely fast and succesful in Q but he isn't near around with true God of Q Senna. The title is obviously too provocative. Imho it would be more precise to name Teo Fabi as a one of unluckiest drivers or driver who's luck was only about Q and expires when it comes to race.

Embellishing titles get views on TH-cam, if I were to say unluckiest I think that’d be incorrect because Chris Amon exists, and if I said ‘Teo Fabi, driver whose luck only came in qualifying’ it wouldn’t hit. Blame the content platform gods not me lol
