Ford’s manufacturing plant near Chennai recently pushed out its last car.
Employees decorated the EcoSport with flowers and tassels and bid a tearful farewell to the factory
The Chennai Ford factory, operating for the past 25 years, was making losses for the last decade or so
Its management announced its permanent closure, which led to an employees’ strike for more than 30 consecutive days last month
The factory, which has shipped thousands of cars to India and abroad, is shutting down on July 31

It was 2013 October at Durga puja , I bought Ecosport trend + Tdci ...I think at that time most Indian cars doesn't have Abs, Airbag , electronic Adjustable orvm, rear wiper...Forget about Ncap crash test Star rating 😂😂.. it's a Dream journey , it saves me a lot of times on Indian roads from some heavy drivers . Ecosport just glides on Roads , Handling is way way above it's price segment . Recently done full Body color , Changed all Tyres , Diesel filter , Suspension Bushing . And ready 👍 , Thanks Ford ...Ecosport is not just my Car , it's my Passion , my Attitude and Personality. 🙏
Same here...blue trend+ oct '13..still chugging merrily...recently changed the boot lock, key signal transponder reciever and the ac filters....
I have an ecosport titanium tdci thunder edition 2021 model
I bought it on very last time, when ford quitting in Indian car market.

Ford Ecosport is not just a Car, it's a my family member and it's my eldest son to take all my family members on his shoulders (in car) & take Responsibilities like journeys. I love my wife & my Eldest son i.e Ford Ecosport diamond white Titanium Diesel also (30/April/2021 bought into my home)
When Ford introduced Model T back in 1908 it was a evolution back in those era. Even Soichiro Honda inspired from Model T to invent Honda motor Company. But Ford failed to keep up with India's automotive environment.

Because of heavy taxes all foreign companies running away...ford never compromise with their build quality and with other things....due to GST...and rto taxes it's very difficult to buy this good cars...for indian peoples...

So lets see where are we heading n i dont have a ford car or ford fans please dont think its my love for ford speaking out ... Its just we all indian are getting less than what we deserve... 🙏

Some Indian company should buy Ford and it's subsidiaries. They keep failing in whichever country they enter. They make good cars but don't know how to sell them.
They take advantage of chicken tax provided by US government. That’s it.

The previous generation EcoSport is one of the best selling hatchbacks in my country until the toyota rush and mitsubishi expander came in. What Ford did made the ecosport's situation worse when they made the body smaller and the engine too contradictory to its name eco+"SPORT"

Low at Torque and clutch getting hard after few kms
All these led to less sales number. Safety was too good. Being a ford customer this is what I felt personally.

I literally own an Ecosport and I’m head over heels in love with her. Which is why I’m in absolute dismay that they are actually closing down one of the best brands to ever dominate Indian market in terms of superior build quality, fixed service charges, safety standards and most importantly with an economic price tag.
Ford service charges and maintenance is huge.

They don't hv a local CEO but send own person to run it.even if they appoint one they don't give him flexibility to take decision.Nor trust him to work independently His only job is to implement.With this attitude how can they succeed?They make good cars but don't invest to create world class service centres.Waste crores in ads but don't train staff well or give them job stability.
