I've had my Sierra for about a year, and its quality sound and playability are the two things that have prompted me to get better on the banjo. It is self-reinforcing. This is a fantastic banjo!
I am looking for my first upgrade banjo , from my goodtime 2 (which I'll never part with) . I look around and I always come back to the Sierra . Going to head up to eagle music store soon to try one out . Then it will be decision on whether to go mahogany or maple . Love listening to Jens speak about and play the banjo .
Thanks Jens and Deering for this video that inspired me to purchase my first banjo a little over a week ago, a mahogany Sierra. I bought it used in excellent+ condition with a radiused fingerboard for a big discount over brand new, although it really is brand new for all I can tell. I've played fingerstyle guitar for over 40 years and the fingerboard on this model is just wonderful. In just a few days I have been improvising and coming up with some nice sounding stuff. Looking forward to many years with this wonderful instrument.

Jens sold me in this video about a year ago and I ended up buying one. I Don't sound like Jens yet, but he isn't kidding about the banjo, it sounds just as fantastic in real life.
I got my Sierra (openback) last week. Everyone that hears it says the same thing, "what a beautiful tone!".It is built with real integrity, without a flaw. After playing a couple years and struggling with my fretting hand, this banjo has turned my world around. Instead of pressing too hard and hurting my progress, this banjo lets me fret effortlessly. Time to practice !

What would be the point in having something that looks amazing and has the potential to sound amazing if it is difficult to play. So playability is one of THE most important elements of our designs, from the Goodtimes to the top flight models. We are really happy you are enjoying it!
I wished they would have added a little gold inlays to give it a bit more diversification like the deluxe or Boston. Or give us the choice to have it added
The Deluxe was essentially a Sierra with the gold inlay accents and a gloss finish. We can 100% make you a Sierra with gold inlays if you would be interested. Just call us at 619 464 8252.
Hey...Both great choices...I would say if you want something more straight ahead bluegrass, go Sierra. The Eagle has a bit more midrange punch and is a touch lighter than the Sierra. Feel free to call in tomorrow at 6194648252. Andrew or myself (Jamie) would be happy to chat more.

I love the sound of the Sierra mahogany! It's the epitome of the "ring" in banjos.

sometimes he hits the rev limiter . It is the hardest thing in banjo to not go too fast

I have a mahogany good time with resonator from you guys. I love it. But I really want to take my playing seriously. That's why I want a Sierra.
