I played there 25 years ago when I was an 8 hdcp. Windy, rainy miserable day. Drive on #1 into wind went 180 yards. Drove green on 12. Shot 88. Greatest experience of my golfing life.
Went there 12 years ago with same group. Next year we tour Ireland and Scotland and play nine courses. I cannot wait.
Hope I get to play it one day. Sounds amazing :)
I played the New course there, started off in a light rain but on the second nine the weather really took a turn for the worse. It got windy and started to downpour and no one in our group could reach the green on a par 3 with a 3 wood. It was probably the worst weather I have ever played golf in.
The good Lord would never disrupt the BEST GAME OF MY LIFE!

I love the intention that you played with. Much different than your last break 90. Not sure if it was the course, the day, or a different approach to the series again, but i loved it
1000% the course lol. This is a much easier play than any major
add a little wind and this would have been completely different.

What a pristine feeling it must be to stop at your ball in the fairway, of the Old Course, discuss with your caddie distance to the pin, wind direction and club selection. All of this at St Andrews, on the course the Old Tom Morris designed. Wow. This is so on my bucket list. Thank you for sharing this perfect golf day, no matter what you score. The gentleman caddying for you was perfect.

Absolutely love this series. And among the courses you’ve played the old course looks to be on the easier side. Wide fairways, big greens, and amazing history.
Not so easy when windy. Or when you’re facing an 50m putt
Great video. I love the fact I live about 20 mins from here and can visit whenever I like. Sunday is a great day for walking the dog on the old course.
Finally a valid video cuz the golfer played off the back tee and conditions are similar to that of the tournament. Golf Mates made an identical video but they played off the white.

Great video, tremendous video. Highlight of my week. These are amazing Erik. Don’t ever stop doing these, if 90 is broken we have to re evaluate to 85 next year or perhaps beat whatever lowest score you have in place after part 2 lol

Just played there last month and it was so much fun. Looks like you had amazing weather! I shot an 86 after sleeping on the ground in the walk on line so was pretty pleased. We played the regular tees though lol. Good stuff EAL!

On a golf note those mats compress at the bottom and cause the ball to ride up the face and cause everything to be short. Just one more club and hes 3-4 strokes lower.

I love that St. Andrews is in the middle of the town. You're just walking down the street past a bar, then all of a sudden it's like, "Hey, I'm at a golf course..."
A lot of the open courses are like that, Links land is the land between the town and sea Prestwick and Troon (they are practically on top of each other) Carnoustie, Birkdale and Portrush all start in town Lytham and Hoylake are now completely surrounded! . . Muirfield and Turnberry are more in the middle of nowhere while St Georges, Princes and Cinque Ports are all together between Deal and Sandwich but a bit out of town. Musselburgh is the other one but that was superceded by Muirfield in late 18something its in town surrounded by a racecourse and only 9 holes!

Great video. I've been fortunate enough to play this course, and while it doesn't present much of a challenge in the traditional sense, there's something about the history, the surroundings, etc that will add a few strokes. Best of luck on the back nine!

I was at the walker cup last week, at st Andrews old course, it really wasn't that hard a course IMO.
But so far the best spectator golf experience I have had.
I canot tell you how INSANE it is to play the 18 with people on the street watching you, its mad.
