The fact that he walks over into the shit to help you with your decision on taking a drop or playing a shot back into the fairway says a lot about his character and respect towards you EAL! Tony is class
@@BG-fh5me lol I know right, over here making it sound like he demonstrated such decorum while in his mind he’s just being helpful and giving some input just like any person would when you’re golfing with them.

Tony Finau is one of my favorite players on tour. A complete beast when swinging those clubs. An absolute gentleman in every interview/discussion I've ever seen. Excellent video RGC team!
Very motivational to hear about that 7 year journey Tony was on to reach the PGA Tour. Really inspiring for people to not give up in all areas of life if you believe in something worth fighting for. What a great guy Tony is. Excellent watch.
It's amazing where Tony comes from. Grew up hitting balls into a mattress in his garage in Rose Park, Utah (one of the poorer areas in UT). Definitely not a country club kid.
And he played rose Park golf course to hone his skills. A true shithole. He said on tv that his favorite golf course was the Jordan River par 3 course. That's the first golf course i ever played. Also a shithole, but a good time.
@@danielbloedorn7983 yeah I went to rose park last week. Everything but the greens were terrible. For some reason the greens were Augusta level when I went lol.
@@meech37 yeah, the last time I played there the front 9 didn't even have fairways. It was all 3 inch grass. They should push the finau connection and doll that place up
@@danielbloedorn7983 it's unfortunate too because the windstorm we had here in SLC earlier this year leveled all the trees. The fairways were dirt. The course is going to need a lot of work/money but idk if SLC will spend that money on a course is rose park. Theyd rather spend it on the busy ones.
Your vibe is genuine and relaxed enough to create the ideal environment for your guests to kick back and reveal their true character. Keep it up, we love it!
Years back when Tony Finau had just come off the tv show The Big Break, I had the opportunity to meet him at a charity event where every group had the chance to try and out drive him on a par 4. He told us a great story on smoking a drive and another player ended up with tears in his eyes. He felt bad about the situation and decided to hit an iron against everyone else. We talked him into hitting his driver since we're big boys and it wouldn't hurt our feelings. He hit the ball so dang far! He's seemed like a great guy and even more now.
A big shout out to Tony Finau.....a great win today at THE NORTHERN TRUST 2021. So happy for him, such a great competitor and great guy to watch play golf with his sweet swing. Keep it up Tony and win the FedEX Cup.....
EAL, thanks for showing Utah golf in such a great light. It was awesome to meet you at Bonneville, and as a die hard golfer from Utah, know that we appreciate the love you have shown to our state through the bonding and incredible game of golf.
Thank you for bringing an insight into Tony Finau, in UK we do not get a chance to get to know how much of well rounded great human being he is!!! Definitely a new addition to my favourite tour players to follow
A lot of media personnel try to get players to be something or someone they're not, but with EAL it seems as though they're always comfortable enough to be themselves. Kudos to you Erik.
Tony is freaking Awesome!!! I really liked him on Big Break(YES...He was on that TV show!) He was so chill and didn't take anything too seriously. Hearing his story, it make perfect sense. I liked him before, but after this I think I've become a true FAN. Inspirational guy. Now I need to check out his Podcast... THANKS!!!
I'd love to see a video of Tony just explaining his swing. It's so compact and sound. If I were teaching someone to golf, and wanted them to copy someone, it'd be him.
It's amazing where Tony comes from. Grew up hitting balls into a mattress in his garage in Rose Park, Utah (one of the poorer areas in UT). Definitely not a country club kid.
Played the nic multiple times ...saw mike weir last time I was there he gave me som chipping times it was awesome. Glad tony is putting it out there that this course is the toughest in Utah (because it is) can tell just watching the video it’s very very tamed down in October
Love watching this video..Good to see Tony is still a very nice and accessible guy. Walked up with him back in 2007 on the Pro Am of the KLM open at Kennemer Golf & Country Club. Remember that he was hitting the balls 50-100 yards further then where the (ball) spotters were standing :)
Now that's a quality human being. Such a humble, cool dude. Also like the combination of golf and podcast, especially with a guy like Tony, who seems like a great interview. Great job EAL!
Eric!! First off amazing video! I couldn’t even fathom how nerve racking and incredible the experience was to play with Finau. He seems like such a genuine guy. And secondly, 8:42-9:22 that was incredible. You played rather well. Absolutely a great video all around! I loved it.
Not sure how you can top this series with Tony Finau...but keep the content coming! It would be awesome to see him break the course record. Can’t wait for the back 9!
I remember watching Tony on Big Break and I’ve been rooting for him ever since. Not only is he a great golfer but he’s a true gentleman n family man. I root for him every time he tees is up. I want to see him win a major soon😊⛳️
What a joy of a post. BTW, thanks for the Spielberg-like production of this thing....the sound was rich. My ears hurt so much from all the Zoom sounds of everything nowdays, even in Networks the sound is crap sometimes. Tony is just a special athlete, humble...heck, anyone that basically starts their pro career on Big Break and then ends up on the PGA Tour and walking down the fairway with Tiger...just awesome. TU!!
Amazing content. One of the best players on the planet just casually going about his business. Good job keeping it together by EAL. Top class production
Killer game Erik. Tony seems like a legitimate nice guy and still humbled. So humble he's got Tiger on speed dial lol. Utah looks beautiful. Looking forward for the next video.
Painted Valley! Beautiful spot up here, I spent all summer down the road on The Dye greenskeeping and the Nick (Painted Valley) is definitely the most sought-after course in the area. Thanks for coming out! Come check out the Lake and Mountain Courses down in the Heber Valley at Wasatch State park next time too if ya havent.
This reminds me of classic EAL with the rest of the crew. Really great vid, but from one editor to another, the focus shift with the blur on the tracking lines during the ace cam part at 5:00 is such a nice detail.
RGC are just in a totally different level of Media, the delivery of information from EAL is just different level, this guy should be on mainstream doing this.
The landscape is really incredible. In the distance it looks so simple just baren, but up close its like all these individual dense bushes and it looks like middle of nowhere. The houses are also really cool style
I always route for Tony when he is on top of the leaderboard!! I hope he gets in the winners circle again and more often!! I hope he wins the Masters sounds like that would mean a lot for him!! That course looks nice and I am sure it was funny to play a round with Tony!! Great video Erik!!
16:59 yet another example of the brilliance of EAL's editor. Watch how Tony breaks the shot tracer line as he walks into it. That will have taken time. And to pay that close attention to the detail, for the last split seconds of that clip, says so much about the editor and the effort they put in. So impressive!
