carrying the Talwar is amazing! after carrying the voyager for years the talwar is so slim and lite in the pocket! If your going for daily carry the Talwar is top teir!!!! Cant imagine how anoying the rajah is in the pocket
EDC'ed a Rajah II for about half a year. It was indeed annoying, felt like a boat anchor in the pocket. ⚓ The width and bulk had it printing/bulging really bad too. I had to try in-the-waistband carry, like I would a pistol! Just ordered a 5.5" serrated Talwar. Specs have it ~6 oz. lighter than the Rajah II, so hopefully your statement about carrying it will be true!
I found the Talwar 3 inch to be dissapointingly difficult to wave out even after tuning the pivot and spring. However the Talwar XL waves out nicely and is still pretty reasonable in the pocket. But I just love the heft of the Rajah 2 and super sure deployment.
Among the many self-defense folding knives, or considering its concealability, the first choice would be Talwar5'5 If there is no concealment consideration, the better choice is Rajah 2 or even espada xl. They have more length and their advantages cannot be underestimated.
Great video! Great knives! I've also been in the same dilemma as Steve and my solution was, to get them "both" and put in a little practice. No regrets since I was definitely gonna get the knives anyway! I've EDC'd all of the XL's and currently carrying the serrated Counterpoint XL. And (for me) once you get used to and deploy an Cold Steel XL, anything less will make you feel kinda, naked lol... Again Matt, great video!!!
I currently carry a cold steel 4max scout as a daily. I've carried the rajah2 for years. I've got 2 of em. Just in case. Lol. Also carry a rajah3 for lighter/smaller work.
You will never be given, you must create the opportunity to deploy your weapons. So speed is important but once out and operating there's no comparison to that serrated edge it just charges through clothing compared to a straight edge. All wave features need practice. And remember you're popping that out back and down behind you watch out for small children and animals behind you😱
The Talwar has strange ergonomics IMO I always feel like it's gonna close on me (even though it wont') or is just more awkward to handle than other CS XLs due to handle shape etc.

The hold out 6” serrated is the best with the Snaggle tooth.
Buy both 😃 I love my Talwar the best 😁
Large Espada entered the chat.
Both are awesome but the Raja 2 is like smooth butter in its deployment and closure.
Good to see you. I have been thinking about you here lately. I have missed you. I hope all is good.
