I wish this scene would stop comparing everyone to King Gizz. Yeah they kick ass, but Acid Dad is distinctly their own. Bright future ahead for these lads.
I honestly haven't seen anyone compare these guys to Gizz. Like I mean yeah they do both play psych rock but stylistically they are way different.
@@shaetteb1272 Why are you taking a dig at these guys? These guys are fantastic musicians and extremely good songwriters. They just make different music and don't have 7 dudes in their band lmao. Yes they both play music that can be classified as psych rock but they make very different music. But hey opinions are subjective and if you think king Gizz is drastically more capable of making quality music, that's quite alright :)
I would really like for new bands to be not compared to king gizzard. In the end of the day, these bands are making sick jams
@@shaetteb1272 comparing anything to Gizz is overestimating their theoretical capabilities. One of the most talented and prolific bands in modern existence. Acid Dad is incredible though.
They sound more American than King Gizz. I would say Americans have more of a structured approach to writing anything where as the Aussies reverted into a more free form approach to writing hooks.
As a 58 year old dad who occasionally dabbled,I can quite categorically say that this has my approval! Love it :)

Just discovered Acid Dad through these sessions. I bought both osees, fuzz, ty, and Acid Dad albums. Levitation is that cool older brother showing you new music. Frin here on out I'll consider everything here worth listening to.
These guys so remind me of Echo and the Bunnymen. Especially the guitarist. Its like he is channeling Will Sergeant. What a great sound. I'm 63 and feeling pretty hopeless about music today maybe these kids will help save it.

@@spacegrass6632 You are spot on. We are not really influenced by Gizz to be truly honest. It’s sounds like a “king gizz” song bc we are playing in harmonic minor in this jam. Was influenced by Wire and Psychedelic Furs for this track if I recall when we wrote it.
