My friend and I used to hit those notes when we were kids just goofing off. We didn't know what we were doing really. Could never do it today.

I was 12 years old, and my brothers wouldn’t allow me to listen to the radio in the car because I knew every song and they especially hated this one

We all love Minnie Riperton..❤ Please also react to Mariah Carey’s performance of “If it’s over” at the Grammys in 1992!

Love this song, and your reaction is so great to listen to. (But honestly, were you born in 1974? Are you really 50? With two small children? Wow, you are looking so good! )

She was such a precursor and the most talented in the interpretation and giving feelings to every words. Each intonations and effects of this song created gimmicks that went on to be overexploited.
So many divas coming after her were just "Mimics Rip'her tons". She the equivalent of BlackSabbath for the "Vocal Divas" genre, coudl have spawned all the style's repertoire in just one song.
Too bad destiny took her so early.
