    3SGE sounds so nice man. I feel happy to have an ST182, only just recently got it running properly too. I've had a whole stainless steel exhaust done from the manifold back (with decat) and it sounds great.

      @eliasaggeli1225 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah mate 3sge is such a good sounding engine... i have an st202 celica with 3rd gen 3sge and love it... btw when does your tvis kick in? On mine the acis kick in at about 5400rpm

    • @BennyJ69
      @BennyJ69 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eliasaggeli1225 I'm not too sure because my tacho doesn't really work 😂 but I'd say around 5k rpm.

      @eliasaggeli1225 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BennyJ69 yeah probably there cause i heared from others say 5k for st182s too... 3sge is an engine that especially in the last 1800-2000rpm until redline gives good power

    • @BennyJ69
      @BennyJ69 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eliasaggeli1225 It doesn't kick that much for my rev 2 3SGE, don't think it's the best running engine though.
      I've heard that the st202 has a real kick when ACIS comes in. The much better engine it seems, you can get an acis spacer made by Hurley that adds some hp and torque, 5-10hp apparently.

    • @eliasaggeli1225
      @eliasaggeli1225 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BennyJ69 3rd gen 3sge as in my st202 might be a bit faster than 2nd gen 3sge in the st182s but dont think there is a huge difference.. as for the acis in my 3rd gen 3sge it does make a difference in sound when in kicks but no way like vtec or vvtli but it really increases acceleration until redline.. and all gens of 3sge are decent enough

    Hey, i'm going to buy one maybe how do you like it? I have now a celica t20 with a 1.8 would this be much faster?

    • @ackermandrives
      @ackermandrives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey, i really love the t18 Celica. Both the design on the outside and on the inside reminds me a bit of the Supra, which i really like. I do believe that the t18 is starting to move to a "classic" territory, the price is only going upwards from now on. In terms of performance the t20 1.8 has a 0-100km/h in 10.2 s, and the t18 does 0-100km/h in 8.4 s. So it should feel a bit faster, but i havent driven a t20 so i can't tell for sure how it drives. In conclusion, the Celicas are a great entry level Japanese sportscar, they are reliable and plenty of fun driving. Goodluck!

    • @ackermandrives
      @ackermandrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a old car, so check all the usual stuff. The 3S-GE engine is solid and i haven't had any problems with it, neither the clutch or transmission. I have replaced springs, shock absorbers, and the generator. These cars usually rust around the fenders and underneath so make sure to check for rust carefully.

      @@ackermandrives There's a time capsule 1990 Celica GT-S with 51k original miles. 8/10 body, 10/10 interior going for $6k nearby me. The only negative, for me, is that it is an automatic. I've been debating if I'd want to swallow the manual pride, and just go with the extremely low mileage classic.

Yeah, it'll take a while to find all the parts, but at the end of the day you'll have a 1990 Celica GT-S, Others don't get that supremacy. I'm about to get a 1990 GT that's automatic, 75,000 original miles. I still feel lucky.
