    I love your video. The hakka spoken by grandma is the same that we speak in French Polynesia. Here, we also eat the chinese rice dumpling occasionally.

    Lovely, my grandma also used to love making loads of these to give away. I like the one with the mung bean and pork belly. The fat renders and is delicious!
    The Vietnamese also have this dish they call it bahn chung. They have massive giant ones shaped like a square cake or a circular tube.

    Hi Kristy, im so happy to stumble upon your channel. First as a foodie and last but certainly not least, im hakka too :-) Actually your spoken hakka is very similar to mine. May I ask where your parents/grandparents are originally from? (mine combo of guandong lung gong and malaysian). Your poh poh is such a sweatheart! Makes me miss mine very very much. Hearing your english, are you from the UK? Im from the netherlands. Im always so happy to hear and watch hakka spoken on a worldly stage. In my circle of friends and family in europe its already dwindling. Really keep up the good work, cheers!

    Sorry to comment, I am not Hakka nor Cantonese, but your grandma statement that Cantonese dumplings have only 3 corners, that is so untrue. How can you make something 3 dimensional just with 3 corners? Unless it is a picture or a drawing. No matter what, all dumplings will have 4 corners.

    • @KirstyLo
      @KirstyLo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not necessary, the 3 corners rice dumplings is more triangular coned shaped, it’s really popular to do this Cantonese style with the 3 corners.
