How were these his last steps? As I’ve said before . Just because his mobile phone pinged back a return signal to the cell tower, this does not mean the phone was in his possession. Anybody could’ve taken it there. The Snapchat picture does not show Jay it shows someone with boots on and holding a cigarette. The press seem to be falling for the picture that has been painted by people that are hiding the truth.
Spot on they are clearly missing an important part of this, wee lucy mae knows the ins and outs of this and needs pressed for the truth.

Imagine ITV paying for another journalist to go out and say exactly what's already been said for the past 11 days and nothing else just spend the last few days blaming people speculating and then going on to speculate. You can't make this up.
Imagine a bunch of people watching this, though. We just did (well I did, maybe you're just commenting). ITV is earning money from this same as every other new source. It's all pretty sad. I hope he's found or recovered soon.

@@kimgrant3879 sorry I was being a bit dense. I agree she doesn't need to be out in Tenerife, she's said nothing I haven't heard already from an Irish journo who lives on the island. It is a waste of money, but I guess it's ITV's money and they make that money back from us engaging. On that note, I'm really trying *not* to engage in news about this lad because it's all part of the supply and demand circle. It doesn't help Jay or his family much. x
I once was in Greece and waited for a bus. Only to realise when the bus turned up I was on the wrong side of the road. I think he may of walked the wrong way because, he forgot the bus stop goes the opposite way, then walked the wrong way. Because their was most likely 2 bus stops. One for carrying on and one for going back. He muddled up the fact they drive on the right. I think that's the reason.

That might count for the fact that he walked in the opposite direction. Missed many a bus because of that.
There is only one bus stop at that location, it's a narrow road with a wall right next to the road on the other side. I got off at that stop coming from the North (stayed at another Airbnb next to the one in the video) and got on the bus at the same stop to go South when I left 3 days later. But, yes he may have assumed that because the bus stop was on that side, that that was the direction to go in. There are actually some steps across the road which lead to a footpath that takes you up to the viewpoint in this video a lot quicker than walking along the road, but of course he would not have known that...
You would think that you would check your phone (map) before setting off though to at least see how far the walk was and that you were heading in the right direction.
If you put his hotel into apple maps from that location (which is what most of us young people do to find a way somewhere) the apple maps directs you up the hill, so if he was using his phone, thats exactly the way he would go.
Why aren't the police questioning his friend Lucy?
There's definitely more to this than is being reported.
The fact that they are taking her word as gospel that she talked to Jay is surprising. There is no evidence that they spoke. Only her word.
How do you know they didn't question her?

that Lucy girl must be scared seeing as we all know she has more involvement to this than she's letting on especially when she did the interview with her back to the camera. Entire case is a shambles!
It's all the drug corridors and runners, and dealers. Young people are so much at risk of getting involved without realising the consequences.
What do you know? If you have any evidence supporting your claim, present them to authorities. Otherwise you're just a clown vomiting words out of boredom.

@@carolharkness5023 it's very easy to make these "why didn't they do X" claims with the knowledge of knowing what has happened and not experiencing the situation yourself. Just because someone doesn't respond in the most optimal way to a bad situation doesn't mean they are acting with malicious intent lol.

Exactly! And these 2 men weren't even at the rave, so where did he meet them? What time? Did they go specifically to pick him up after the rave? Was it planned? Or did they just meet him on the street after the rve ended? They need to be explaining everything to the public not just giving bits and bobs. If they don't want conspiracy theories they need to be transparent.
@@helenvictoria371they were going to the rave, you have wrong information, what is odd is that they chose a remote Airbnb far from the parties but that could just to do with costs, maybe the accomodation close to the festival was extortionate so they just decided to do the journey each day for cheaper.
@brettpilkington9539 no I thought they went to the rave too, up until yesterday that was what had been implied. However it was reported yesterday that both men never went to the rave. I will find the video of the interview/video I watched and see if i can share it here. I was very surprised to hear that piece of information for the first time.
@@brettpilkington9539 Does seem a very odd place to stay if you are there to party, surely the car hire plus the petrol would outway any savings on accommodation plus there are loads of places to stay that are much closer. I stayed in Masca because I wanted to see the village after the day trippers leave, do a hike and I am too old for the nightlife and was travelling solo. There are literally only 5 or 6 places to stay in the whole area in and around the village, much more limited choice than almost anywhere in or at least closer to Playa de las Americas where there are loads of places to stay...
They don’t know what time he left with them. It’s estimated between 3-6am, as his mates went home around 3am and the club closed at 6am so it would have had to be in that timeframe meaning he could have been at theirs for 5
hours, not 2 hours. I’m not sure where you got 6am from.

lucy clearly needs the money to clear her debts and free jay or he dies. shocked that lucy hasn't been called into questioning seeing the type of information that is currently out there on her.
The second I first saw the mum on TV giving an interview I said she gave off huge Karen Matthews vibes. Added to what we now know about his criminal past and some of these characters he's been hanging around with, nobody will be the slightest bit surprised when the truth comes out soon.

All this is throwing me back to yr 2000 ..young Paul finan, a friend of ours who was such a gentle giant. went to Tenerife with a bunch of 8 men much older than him that he hardly knew. He was found dead after a fall whilst there ... he'd phoned his father the same day upset and wanted to go home early due to being scared for his safety.. because he refused to be a mule for contraband. Years later they reopened the case for a 2nd time after new evidence came forward.. it was all over the world press and I think crimestoppers did a show too. The arrogance of these fellas at both court cases screamed volumes... I've never been to Tenerife and wouldn't want to...

Since 1985 Three British men have gone missing on the Island of Tenerife and have never been found Last year 2023 A young Irish lad went missing Ryan Cooney but he was found safe and well after a number of days So I suppose this gives hope to the family of Jay Slater that he will be found 🙏

Masca is a beautiful and well trekked area, 100.000s people a year do treks around the area. I was born and raised on the island, my first question is who hires a BnB in Masca if not for the purpose of trekking? No one would get a BnB in Masca to go to a nightclub in Las Americas over an hour away (a much much longer travel time in bus due twisty roads and many stops).

Was brought to the media by Lucy and the family. Most likely in attempt to bring light to it so those that have him are less likely to hurt him if people are watching. Plus a homicide would lead to the drug dealers operation being toppled no doubt so he’s probably still alive

You've flown out just to speculate, having condemned everyone for... speculating. This is surreal. And you say that you "think he has unfortunately come off the road" at this location and if so you "don't hold out much hope, sadly". This is a week and a half. A deceased person would smell (and very distinctively) for hundreds of metres in all directions on hot days. Anyone who has encountered a dead sheep in a landscape will know about this - the odour can be overwhelming, even outside. Why keep reporting this enigmatic case if you don't want people to speculate? Would you not want Jay's family and the police to get on with their search for him unencumbered by all the chatter?
We now know theres no chance of finding this young lad alive not after this amount of time, its a body recovery search now thats the truth of it

I personally know that Paul bloke in the black hoody, who has gone out there to help. He is far from an "expert" at anything; as far as I know he was into his climbing wall at the local leisure centre and gave kids lessons, quite how he thought this would translate to a search and rescue mission boggles the minds of all us at home.
Sounds like maybe he is doing it more for the social media clout / tik tok views?

Apparently Jay is currently working for the Tenerife tourist board and he came up with this idea to get more people to come to the island. This months bonus is going to be mega for him.

I used to work with a chap who couldn’t drive. He never took short cuts, always stuck to the road where someone would eventually drive past and offer him a lift! It never failed.
The news is frequently saying, what's making it worse is all these people getting involved and providing unhelpful conjecture. Yet, what is different about what they are doing? Hypocrisy to me.
He stole drugs from the two mens house and then took off. That’s why he had no water and didn’t wait for the bus. The two men have probably caught up with him later on or he has tried to stash the drugs in the mountains and hurt himself. Spanish police won’t want to admit to drugs involved as it’s bad for tourism

no, logic is he tried to walk the four hour journey and cut corners in the train which looked treacherous enough! It doesn't have to be suspicious.

Has anyone ever considered that after his last communication from his phone he may have started walking back to a main road, started to thumb a lift as a hitchhiker in an attempt to return to his place that he was residing, got picked up by a passing car and then taken under duress to another part of the island and maybe harmed in some way?

The lucy girl and 2 men who were with him last need to come clean....those poor moutain rescue and volunteer hikers are putting themselves in danger for no reason...most likely if he was involved in some drug/criminal activities he's already dead and the body will be disposed and not found....so that lucy girl needs to come clean.

Been asking this myself, its a 10 hour walk from the nightclub scene, or a 3hour public bus ride. Never heard anyone staying in Masca to party in Las Americas. Make zero sense.
I was hiking around north Tenerife a few times last was from TF 12 highway to Taganana just b4 last Xmas, road was fine but descending in completely wideness for 2 hours, it was scary.😮

So he came out the air b and b at 7.30 and took a photo of the doorstep. Did he send this to his friend? He had his wits about him to take this photo. I think he was escaping from a situation and thought to get out of there. Took to the hills to avoid being spotted by whoever took him and sadly he is now lost in more ways than one. The Go Fund Me is odd. Because if I had someone missing setting up a GFM account probably wouldn't be my first priority. I think the whole issue stinks - and while it was a NRG festival, it seems like Jay was left with no NRG and things have done pear shaped. I hope they find him but if they do I sadly don't think he will be alive.

I just read a comment like this. Is there CCTV of her making a phone call to Jay Slater? Did Jay have his phone, or was it someone else? Did Jay have more than one phone? 😳 It was awful if the friend was lying about the details of the phone call as this could put her in the frame 😮 as Jay surely should be found by now with so many looking on the ground and dogs etc. He hasn't been where they are looking, so perhaps he has gone to another part of Spain? Or another country? Woth people who don't use a tourist passport route, perhaps?

Only wondering if any chance he could fall down into the sea? Sometimes with the helicopter by pass you can see the sea at the bottom of the ravine.

We know that his been Framed and used just cause his vulnerable and not so smart kid! 110 percent behind his parent in time tragedy we should sent more funding for them get by in foreign country struggling and difficult time. Thing is ... just because his phone was switched on at that located and there was a GPS signal that pinged there, was there any witnesses to say that they saw him holding his phone and that he was definitely at that exact location. When posted on go fund was it stated what is it for exactly. I think it should be made clear so people can make informed decision whether this is something they wish to donate for. Hope he is found safe.

Jay has not been found on or near the route he took. Therefore I think he probably took a lift from someone. Is there CCTV, or any other record, of vehicles that were on that route at about the time that Jay was on the route? I think that's where the answer is. I feel so terribly sorry for Jay's Mum, she is going through a waking nightmare. I sincerely hope her boy is found alive and well, God bless him.

If not found yet is because they are searching in the wrong area or he is concealed. If last known time alive was 9am, he could have walked for 12 hours in any direction or in circles or fallen … it won’t be easy to find. There is the case of a runner found mummified 3 years after he went missing in El Teide national park after going for a run.
HOW did the 2 lads he was with leave this area ?

If people speculate that his phone was taken by someone else to make look like he was at that location, how come the lady saw him there, matching his description. Why would he just wander off and climb mountains, the last thing you’d do. Makes no sense, I was in Tenerife when he went missing, eary

I live in the same town as this lad. I defo think Lucy and Jays mate need looking into. Wouldnt surprise me if they know more than theyre letting on. I know hes got a past however I do hope the family get some answers.

No one seems to have spoken to a wildlife expert as yet. If Jay had come to harm then surely birds would be starting to take an interest by now. I think it's a lot more likely now as the days pass by that he got into a car in the evening when the temp was dipping. So I am still hopeful about this.

facts are...he was seen walking back which is a four hour walk. Fact is, he didn't wait the 2 hours for a bus. Fact is the train is treacherous and the weather is cruel.
Too much freedom on her mind whilst talking these steps. Jay clearly had road tunnel vision.
We need to remember roads are more dangerous not for kidnappers but for collisional accidents.

What about the noises reported comming from the air b ?? the men admitted in the beginning jay got caught trying to steal a watch and they kicked him out also it was reported he went to the shop and bought cigarettes wheres that shop. Nothing adds up or makes sense. Reviews on that mountain on line isn't great by climbers isn't great seems alot of people get robbed and cars broken into.
