Before starting the video I thought it was either just the first episode or the first shorts. And I thought to myself: "Wouldn't it be a big deal if there was something out there that's never been shown before? But that would probably just be about 25 seconds long." And now it's this. Neither the first episode nor something that looks at all like the first shorts. The characters look way too developed for that. Weird they kept this hidden for so long. Edit: Added missing quotation marks.

Yeah this is an unfinished version of the season 1 episode "Some Enchanted Evening" which was originally the first episode, hence the production code 7G01. This was actually included on the Season 1 DVD set
I could see a sugar obsessed 8 year old like bart MAYBE pulling something like that and wanting the sugary cereal instead, but Lisa ignoring eggs and bacon for a donut is insane I mean she isn’t even vegetarian yet, and Homer is a grown man I don’t know what grown man wouldn’t want that especially when you don’t even have to wait it’s just sitting there

Funnily enough, that scene was actually not liked by Matt Groening and was very specifically altered to reflect that Homer and Marge shouldn't be that good at dancing as they haven't gone out in a while.

Homer's face when eating the donut looks almost like Fred Flintstone, Bart's face after Marge kisses him looks kind of scary, and Bart and Lisa's faces while screaming when seeing Ms Botz as the bandit show up with the rope look like freakin goblins

The main difference is just at the start with the breakfast scene, marge saying to maggie she dreads the day when shes a separate human being isnt in the final episode (The actual episode starts with all the Simpsons in the kitchen) and the animation is different. The rest of the stuff is the same, even the scene with Marge getting dressed to go out with Homer, which looks pretty grotesque and should have been reanimated but wasn't

I personally love the animation in this. Really emphasises their cartoony nature and gets a lot of emotion across. The dance scene is a highlight for me, I love how fluidly they move together and apart. Still feel bad for Marge though LOL, written out the gate to be at her wit’s end with Homer

Heh, this reminds me of Kennedy Cartoons's animation on "Tiny Toon Adventures," which also often had to be sent back to be re-animated.
