Another great video good job of blending and editing highlights. Cool how you include the pregame and other interviews from the time brings back lots of memories.
While there's no guarantee the Knicks would've beaten the Bulls, they would've stood a much better chance than Miami did. Heat were very good in 96-97 but they weren't quite ready for the big stage yet. NBA fans got robbed of a great series, a Bulls/Knicks ECF series in 1997 probably would've been a classic.
Bulls got "lucky" in the 1997 playoffs, as they avoided the Grant Hill Pistons in the second round (lost a brutal first round series to Atlanta), and then avoided in the Knicks in the Conference Finals after their drama with the Heat. And they also avoided the Rockets in the Finals (given, the Jazz are an elite team too)
Even though i always pulled for the Knicks during this rivalry this is the one season i felt NY had the better team. In 98, 99 and 2000 Miami had the better team but the Knicks managed to show stoicism and win those series. I'll never forget that Sunday afternoon game 7 in this series was played we had Sunday dinner at my aunt house i was 9 years old my uncle just turned to another game in the 4th quarter we know it was over for the Knicks🥲. Not saying they would've beat the Bulls but they could've took it to 7 and had some convincing victories!
1998 is the only time I can say that Miami was better entering their playoff series, especially since the Knicks didnt have Ewing I always felt that they were evenly matched in 1997 and 1999 and 2000, entering their playoff series
The ONE time the Heat got past the Knicks and it took suspensions. New York just had Miami's number. Would've been a much better East Final between NY and Chicago than Miami, who just didn't have the consistency on offense to threaten Chicago.
at :52, the sports talk radio guy says, "according to some reports, (P.J.) Brown was carrying a knife during the game." Ummmm, what?!?! I have never heard that. Is that actually true? if a dude got in a fight and just pulled a knife out of his shorts in the middle of a game, that would've been the wildest sports moment ever.
Bullshit suspensions hurt the Knicks more than the Heat. Because there was no Ewing and Houston in this game, the Heat didn't have Brown. Then in game 7 the Knicks didn't have Starks and Johnson 🤦🤦🤦🤦.
@@redpillfreedom6692 All Knicks suspended players should have just agreed to be suspended for game 6, and then be in full force for game 7, if they still lost that game 6 (which they did) Unless it was the decision of the NBA to suspend them that way with no way out
@@hmhm856 Nba rule book says you must have a minimum of 8 players available to suit up. Suspending all five at once would have left the Knicks with only 7 guys available for Game 6.
@@hmhm856 But that would have left them four key players short in Game 7 instead of two. It was bad either way, but missing two guys instead of four is the less bad decision.

A heated rivalry

what a classic. if possible, upload more heat games from the ‘97 season! for example: heat vs magic 1st round game 2!
And after this year, the Nicks put them out 3 consecutive years, 2 back 2 back game 7's in Miami, Nicks prevailed
Stern didn’t want the Knicks to dethrone Chicago , LJ was healthy , Ewing was healthy , Houston was healthy , starks was healthy
That team was scary and gritty. Had a shot to make the Bulls sweating but the script has been written.
The Knicks knew the rules and they couldn't keep their composure. It's their own fault.
@@sbmanijakyup same for Detroit in 91 , they walked off and lost on their own terms they knew stern was gonna give it to mj
@@andresdelportillo9917No they lost because Chicago was better by then. And they walked off because they were sore losers.
@@andresdelportillo9917u sound stupid asf stfu nobody wasn't beating the bulls!!!!
Absolutely riveting!!
Can you do 1994 Nets at Knicks Round 1 Game 2 (Oakley picks up the slack with a 20/20 performance after Ewing got ejected before halftime)?
CK i'd planned on working on the nets-knicks ot game 3 soon but yes will hopefully get to game 2 as well
the run they just had with the 9-0 run is extreme i think tht was the dagger

With expansion and rule changes it’s actually easy to see why the Bulls ran roughshod over the whole league in the 90’s.
Didn’t expect Mike Breen in the TNT intto
💥
Can You Upload More 1997-1998 Chicago Bulls Basketball Games MDBball
Yes will hopefully get to more Bulls games
These two teams had battles! I was a big Heat/Majerle fan. Hated the Knicks. Allan Houston's game winner is still a nightmare.
Wow. They both got to 90 points. #90sRockFights

Yes hopefully will look into it thanks

KNICKS WERE SUPPOSE TO WIN THIS GAME AND SERIES! TAKING EWING AND HOUSTON OUT WAS UNFAIR! I HATED THE 1997 HEAT VRS BULLS SERIES!
