Just wanted to let you know something came out this year. It seems D and D may have changed their plans for season 8 to make them even more character breaking. There are pieces of evidence that the earlier plan for season 8 was to have King's Landing burn due to wildfire. I didn't like the finale, to say the least. But his story up until he became the 3 Eyed Raven and escaped back to the wall was amazing. I'm not claiming it was the best, but it was a great story. I guess they kind of forgot all the potential of this character, and decided reduce him to an enigmatic blank stare. Every time I hear "He is our memory" I want to punch the screen. Let's be honest here. All the characters deserved better. Bran is no exception.

And besides they could've brainstormed and come up with an ingenious way of setting up the whole thing from the start that didn't cause the viewer to feel it was predictable by the end. Game of thrones botched the landing for me. I don't know about you but for me game of thrones crashed hard in its landing. Bran only traveled far north of the wall, found the three-eyed raven, became him, faced the Night King 1 on 1 on multiple occassions, is the only reason the NK was ever defeated in the first place, found out that Dany would become a tyrant and set up the stage for her to be ended by telling Jon about his true heritage, which he had to discover first. Yeah, he did nothing at all. The whole of Westeros would be walking corpses by now if this one Bran guy didn't exist. No big deal.

Pretty spot on, but you skipped one of the things that somehow pissed me off the most in this episode. The weird and misplaced attempts at comedy. That whole scene with Edmure Tully was just bizarre. We've just killed off Dany and you decide to do some slapstick comedy? Okay. Then the weird shit with Tyrion and the chairs and HAHA BRONN LIKES BROTHELS, kill me.

ALPHA III Do you really think Drogon had no love for Daenerys? If a dragon is an animal, it still may be loyal to death apart of what species it is. Drogon was with Khaleesi since its very birthday and was raised by her. She showed it love, affection, and care. The dragon was with her all along and showed the same care, affection, and love. That must be enough of an argument to prove that Drogon was not happy at all when its „mother„” died.

Well, the secret passage was blocked anyway, so they couldn't run away from King's Landing. They were going to be captured and killed. Maybe Jaime decided to kill himself along with Cersei.

It made no sense especially because it was executed so terribly. They should have alluded to Greyworm having no more blood lust and having mixed feelings about his purpose without his queen. They kind of hinted at his reluctance to fight, when Sansa (I think it was her) mentioned the armies of the houses had surrounded king's landing. What would Greyworm have to gain in fighting and losing to their armies? He is pissed but he is also sad. He lost two loves, Missandei and Dany. The real question is why he didn't kill Jon as soon as he heard the news Dany had been killed. That part was really botched. Sorry for the rant. tl;dr: I hate D&D they butchered the story by doing 6 episodes instead of 20 in two years; I still have respect for George, but confused as to what he ever saw in D&D, did they drug him? Lol. The end.

Yeah, Tyrion was "team Dany" from season 5, then he switched sides and became "team Jon", then he convinced Jon to kill Dany, and then, when he literally has a chance to elect the new ruler of Westeros... he doesn't even mention Jon, or even Gendry, he says "Bran the Broken". The emotionless boy who does nothing but smirks and pointless remarks that he knew something before others. Bran had NO influence on the plot in the final seasons. We or any of the characters haven't seen him doing anything useful with his powers. Frankly, we don't even know what his powers are. He was the most passive character in the series.

But you can clearly see in E3 that they are all dead, because you can't see hide nor hair of either Unsullied or Dothraki there for the last 45 minutes or so. The Dothraki all died in the most mindless cavalry charge since the Crimean War, and the Unsullied were all pointlessly sacrificed because of an absurdly stupid defense plan. Were the remaining "half" of them hiding in the other, other family crypt and it just wasn't filmed? No. They were very obviously respawned in the next episode by some of the laziest, most disrespectful writing I have ever seen in my life. I am not a moron. Why would the writers think that I was going to buy any of this? It completely breaks immersion if you notice it. And how could people not notice it?
Yup... HBO has pissed away the goodwill of the fan base. Say goodbye to reoccurring revenue from Blu-ray box sets and digital downloads. I see sales for GoT merchandise dropping like a rock. This has single-handedly killed any interest in the prequels. Not to mention how many have cancelled their HBO subscription after this fiasco.
Yeah I'd honestly feel a little embarrassed to be seen wearing/using any GoT merch now. Even a mug with a famous phrase or something on it. That's how badly D&D killed these characters, this show, this whole franchise. There'll probably be an upswing in book sales for GRRM though, from everyone going 'wtf was that??' and wanting something more satisfying lol. Hopefully the last books actually make it to publication because I want a real ending to this saga too.

I had a feeling Bran would be king, just looking at the whole series and synthesising...it was everything combined that made me think it would be him and I wouldn't even be able to tell you exactly why. @@beersmurff - Dorne was a principality, but subject to the Iron Throne, it just wasn't conquered as the others, but annexed by a double marriage pact. That's why everyone respected their titles as Princes and Princesses, they just wouldn't get to be Kings or Queens. The rest of Kings in Westeros were killed or just became mere Lords after bending the knee to Aegon Targaryen the First.

I think HBO is to blame with all this. They read the script before any production began and agreed on it. If the authors were not interested anymore by the project (6 & 7 episodes only for season 7 and 8 is a joke), they should have given the contract to someone else. The show feel rushed and character development (or endings) is really bad this season. It's like they never ever read the books? - What about Cersei's Valonquar prophecy? - What about the prince who was promise? Azhor Ahai? - What about Jon's lineage playing a role in the end? - What about Arya face-changing ability this season and her death list? - What about Bran who doesn't want to rule and suddenly becomes King? And what about his power? He's he able to change the past or future? - What about Jaime's redemption arc since season 1? - What about the Night King. We didn't learn anything about him and his motivation? - And Dany, going to the Dark side of the force for no apparent reason.. So many plot holes...
Dumb and Dumber deserve the blame but you're right, let's not forget HBO. They should have fired D&D and hired new showrunners. Season 8 is the worst writing I've ever seen. Season 7 not far behind. All for some shitty Star Wars movies, which have all been shit under Disney anyways.
I also think it is strange. Maybe there was something in the contract that gave D&D special powers. Whatever happened, HBO will be rethinking their business model.
HBO supposedly wanted 10 episodes and an additional season but D & D said they could tie everything up in 6 episodes and one season. They were offered much more money but refused, believing 6 episodes would be enough. Both are to blame for sure.
I am quite sure that the majority of people who watched the show from the beginning could have written this last season far better than D&D. I surely could have done better. HBO call me next time.

You are very resistant, if you kept not despising it that long. About 4 seasons too long. And to be honest, the foundations of some main problems, like Sansa storyline, lie as early as 1 episode of 1 season. They forgot about Jeyne Pool, she appeared only on Feast in Winterfell, so they had to stupitidly sell Sansa to Boltons in season 5 instead, but this caused, that she COULDN'T LEARN ANYTHING FROM LITTLEFINGER, because she was absent. For this reason her progress is unnatural, undeserved, and overall unconvincing. This example can be generalized for the whole show
The Mountain is the Darth Vader of this show! He's a guy who sustained a horrible injury that lead to him having to wear black armour for the rest of his life
The acting was brilliant, the sets were inspired, the music was glorious... but the storylines and plot were wreckage. All hail the Boy Wonders, Dave and Dan.
It was really. Daenerys had to die for what she did and she couldn't be allowed to do it again, which she was going to do. And then it was very sad because we have watched her character grow from the beginning and most of us warmed to her.

Chris Thurber The writer knows his own world. It’s just D&D aren’t the writers and fooled us all into thinking they was. For all the criticism they get though, we must admit they did a tremendous job of transferring the books to our screens. I’d love to see them bring to life some completed works, those first few seasons were second to none.

Just wanted to let you know something came out this year. It seems D and D may have changed their plans for season 8 to make them even more character breaking. There are pieces of evidence that the earlier plan for season 8 was to have King's Landing burn due to wildfire. I didn't like the finale, to say the least. But his story up until he became the 3 Eyed Raven and escaped back to the wall was amazing. I'm not claiming it was the best, but it was a great story. I guess they kind of forgot all the potential of this character, and decided reduce him to an enigmatic blank stare. Every time I hear "He is our memory" I want to punch the screen.

Bran only traveled far north of the wall, found the three-eyed raven, became him, faced the Night King 1 on 1 on multiple occassions, is the only reason the NK was ever defeated in the first place, found out that Dany would become a tyrant and set up the stage for her to be ended by telling Jon about his true heritage, which he had to discover first. Yeah, he did nothing at all.
The whole of Westeros would be walking corpses by now if this one Bran guy didn't exist. No big deal.

It made no sense especially because it was executed so terribly. They should have alluded to Greyworm having no more blood lust and having mixed feelings about his purpose without his queen. They kind of hinted at his reluctance to fight, when Sansa (I think it was her) mentioned the armies of the houses had surrounded king's landing. What would Greyworm have to gain in fighting and losing to their armies? He is pissed but he is also sad. He lost two loves, Missandei and Dany. The real question is why he didn't kill Jon as soon as he heard the news Dany had been killed. That part was really botched. Sorry for the rant. tl;dr: I hate D&D they butchered the story by doing 6 episodes instead of 20 in two years; I still have respect for George, but confused as to what he ever saw in D&D, did they drug him? Lol. The end.

The emotionless boy who does nothing but smirks and pointless remarks that he knew something before others. Bran had NO influence on the plot in the final seasons. We or any of the characters haven't seen him doing anything useful with his powers. Frankly, we don't even know what his powers are. He was the most passive character in the series.

Yeah I'd honestly feel a little embarrassed to be seen wearing/using any GoT merch now. Even a mug with a famous phrase or something on it. That's how badly D&D killed these characters, this show, this whole franchise. There'll probably be an upswing in book sales for GRRM though, from everyone going 'wtf was that??' and wanting something more satisfying lol. Hopefully the last books actually make it to publication because I want a real ending to this saga too.

That's why everyone respected their titles as Princes and Princesses, they just wouldn't get to be Kings or Queens. The rest of Kings in Westeros were killed or just became mere Lords after bending the knee to Aegon Targaryen the First.

I think HBO is to blame with all this. They read the script before any production began and agreed on it. If the authors were not interested anymore by the project (6 & 7 episodes only for season 7 and 8 is a joke), they should have given the contract to someone else. The show feel rushed and character development (or endings) is really bad this season. It's like they never ever read the books?
- What about Cersei's Valonquar prophecy?
- What about the prince who was promise? Azhor Ahai?
- What about Jon's lineage playing a role in the end?
- What about Arya face-changing ability this season and her death list?
- What about Bran who doesn't want to rule and suddenly becomes King? And what about his power? He's he able to change the past or future?
- What about Jaime's redemption arc since season 1?
- What about the Night King. We didn't learn anything about him and his motivation?
- And Dany, going to the Dark side of the force for no apparent reason..

And to be honest, the foundations of some main problems, like Sansa storyline, lie as early as 1 episode of 1 season. They forgot about Jeyne Pool, she appeared only on Feast in Winterfell, so they had to stupitidly sell Sansa to Boltons in season 5 instead, but this caused, that she COULDN'T LEARN ANYTHING FROM LITTLEFINGER, because she was absent. For this reason her progress is unnatural, undeserved, and overall unconvincing. This example can be generalized for the whole show
The Mountain is the Darth Vader of this show! He's a guy who sustained a horrible injury that lead to him having to wear black armour for the rest of his life

Chris Thurber The writer knows his own world. It’s just D&D aren’t the writers and fooled us all into thinking they was. For all the criticism they get though, we must admit they did a tremendous job of transferring the books to our screens.
I’d love to see them bring to life some completed works, those first few seasons were second to none.

Exactly! They wanted her to go Mad Queen they should've went all the way or shouldn't have done it at all, since when does Daenerys take prisoners once she's betrayed? She should've killed Jon since she's the heir or should've let him die during the Long Night when the NK raised the dead around him.

@@fabi3790 he betrayed her by telling Varys about Jon’s heritage. Varys then tried to have her killed. Then Jaime got caught running back to kings landing and Tyrion freed him along with every other dumbass thing Tyrion did that screwed Dany over in season 7

I hated this episode and this entire season don't get me wrong, but It felt to me like he was saying that to not re suspicions that he knew he was being watched while talking to tyrion. I think he always knew he was going to kill her
10 years would be an absolute minimum to rebuild King's Landing. Reconstruction of the Red Keep could easily be 30-40 years.

Building the red keep didn’t take that long near the end of Aegons conquest and maegor’s rise to power.
Oh and kings landing was built literally within years as far as Westeros history goes.

Also why is she guarded, and then conveniently unguarded right when Jon's conveniently about to assassinate her? Where were the Unsullied and Dothraki? Why were they all heavily guarding Tyrion, a prisoner locked in a cell, but not one "blood of my blood" even stay near by his queen, who could be assassinated by a Partisan in the Red Keep? Wait a minute, why the hell are there so many Unsullied and Dothraki after ep.3? What even is this show anymore??
@@generalaccount6531 actually on the last episode Grey worm warns the Northerners that there are "thousands" of Unsullied that wont stand for Jon's innocense.
The Unsullied bought from Daenerys were at about 8.000 at the beginning if i remember correctly. After battles in the east, battle in Casterly Rock, battle against the undead, a lost naval battle against Euron and battle against Kings Landing how can more than 500 exist, only the writers know.

The Lord of Light brought Jon back so he, with a shout, could draw the ice dragon's attention away from the danger the NK was in ;) Perhaps Jon's absence of faith precluded him to fullfill his destiny. Suppose this messianic figure's unwillingness to accept the act of their own resurrection as proof of that god's worthiness of devotion caused the Lord to discard his own champion. Jon never became a worshipper unlike Berrik. But the brotherhood's leader and Melissandre sparked belief in Arya at Winterfell.
@@MaxMustermann678 Maybe Mel was completely wrong all the time. She didn't actually see Arya killing the NK in her visions. She just thought she did and her saying that to Arya encouraged her to do it. And the Lord of Light is just a trickster kind of god. Giving one Targaryen dragons and reviving another one just to see how they fight it out. And messing with Mel to see how far she'd go for him, for his entertainment.
Lord of light brought jon back to rally forces against the Lord of lights enemy, the Night King.
@@erichargrove2287 Well, all those rallied forces proved less effective at holding the Night King' army back than Hodor. They'd die if it weren't for Arya's critical dagger strike. Amassing an army and gathering political influence as a key element of a god's plan seems unlikely to me. While attempting to do that, Jon focuses a lot on getting Dany's support. I assume the Lord of Light would know that the Night King is immune to dragon fire, and NK didn't break a sweat with that javelin to bring one down. Additionally luring Dany and her dragons to the North only made the Night King more powerful by acquiring a dragon of his own. I believe Jon was working against the Lord of Light's plan. The true champion of the Lord was Berric, who urged Jon to kill the Night King in the North, when they were encircled in the frozen lake. Among the dragonglass weapons Sam gave Jon were arrowheads. The Hound saw a mountain shaped like an arrowhead. Jon was training Bran in archery, he was a competent bowman. Heck, in the Godswood Theon could have done the deed, had they forged some dragonglass arrows for him. Even Bran could have had a shot from his wheelchair! Oh, Lord of Light, why work in such mysterious ways...
