AMAZING!!! Just spent an hour taking mine apart and cleaning all the contacts. Trying to troubleshoot it not working. Thought it was a paperweight till I found your vid! Thanks for resurrecting it from the dead for me!!! No silly intro, no patreon/like/subscribe pandering either. Just good old unfiltered vintage TH-cam!
Thank you, buddy. I just got one IV from a guy on Craigslist, plugged it in at home, and it was doing the same thing. I was about to call him back to return his broken POS but your video avoided that. Fixed it, AWESOME.
Fantastic mate, thanks for this video. Mines been like this for a while and just never got round to looking at it, thought it was gonna be adjusting the inners
Thanks dude! I had this problem before but my bandmate fixed it for me. Happened a few days ago as well, now I know what to do. Thanks a bunch dude, I love using this pedal :)
I dug out my whammy pedal having not used it in a few years.. I actually pulled off the black cushions due to the pedal not returning to pitch in the heel position. Watched this video only to remember that I knew how to do this several years ago but had completely forgotten. Where's the super glue
I was trying to get the minimum parameter to the heal, so I nubbed down the pads, then I thought about Googling electronic problems with the pedal. Then, I found out how to recalibrate it. Lol. That was 5 1/2 years ago, and I use a Pitch Fork with an exp pedal instead now.
Mine just won't calibrate, no matter what it only shows the lowest dot when it smacks the bottom, I might have impatiently ground my nubs of years ago but still, the whole "play space" before kicking in should make that not matter, right? ugh
KID GUITARIST The Whammy V is actually better, and the way you calibrate it should be the same as the Whammy IV. I personally wish I bought the Whammy V, because it has the rubber cushion on the treadle.
i bought one used, without the power suply. i finnaly got around to buy the right power suply but when i put it in it just makes noices when i play on the bas, and the dry signal is not working. when i put in wet it sound like a very bad distortion pedal and i have to play hard before any sound comes out. everything works, the led and bottons. is it worth fixing ?

I looked for the manual before I thought of chopping off the cushion
Good for you. The residue leaves some black dust below the treadle. Not too bad though. 😁

Okay I got it, just ignore the lights & set it how you want... Sorry. duh moment

I will get a Whammy V at my birthday and I want to know how to know when the whammy needs to be calibrated. Please reply and no negative replies :)

wow, spent an hour dismantle it, edit the insides, put it back together, test, hearing it fail.

Dedicated Bass Oof. You may have to trade it in for a different one, unless there’s a guitar shop that could fix it for you.
Now I feel dumb for returning mine back to guitar center
Brandon Bennett Oh no! That’s unfortunate. Lol
Thank you man!
You saved my life!!, thanx!!!
