Exact same dryer with the exact same problem. As soon as i opened it up the belt was found broke. You Saved me Lots of time not needing to diagnose things. I replaced the belt and now im back in business! 👍 THANKYOU!!
Brother thank you so much for this. I just saved myself who knows how much money (prob $300-$700 for an appliance repairman these days who would've also tried to talk me into buying a whole new drier) by doing this myself and there's no way I could've done it without this video. Total cost $15 for a belt and about 2 hours total time.
The plan was originally just to slide a new belt in. But then I found the broken pulley. So I removed belt, then drum, then replaced motor pulley. Then I used belt to lift and set drum back in and threaded belt around all pulleys. Then replace all covers. Might as well vacuum it all out though for safety! Good luck!!
Well, my belt is fine, so I had to dig more. I did find a Diagnostic Guide inside the bottom front cover. Big double sided 22x34" sheet folded up. Checked the Key pad test... press MORE TIME, LESS TIME, MORE TIME, LESS TIME within five seconds, for all the front lights to come on. 88 displayed indicated it's fine. Not much help there, but when I tried to run a cycle from there, 08 was displayed. Not sure what that means. Seems that thermal fuse is blown. Much easier to change, but I've got to sort out why it blew. Hoping a good cleaning is all it needs.
I have a real odd heating problem with my Kenmore when I have it on timed dry for 60 minutes. It's like it's in cool down mode until it gets to the end of the cycle and then gets really hot and won't stop on it's own. I've replaced the heating element, the thermostat, the cycling thermostat, the thermal fuse and the door switch. Nothing has changed! it's driving me crazy! Any help or tips on fixing the issue please?
I would run through the troubleshooting steps I did. Make sure door switch is not issue, then look into sensors. As you may have seen in my video, what I originally thought was a bad thermal switch turned out to be mechanical…
Added parts to Description. Thanks

That’s the most common failure on dryers! 👍
Thanks man. I'm about to take mine apart now...hopefully just a belt.
Yes, my 3 daughters do their own laundry & it is indeed priceless!
Right on
I just fixed mine, and your video really helped me out. Thanks for making it simple, and especially for adding the diagram for the belt!
Great to hear you were able to fix your dryer on your own! 💪✅

That’s awesome! Nice work!!
This was awesome, thank you. My belt likely had frayed and broke due to old age. The dryer is currently running and super clean on the inside. 👊
Great to hear Thomas!
What order did you do the belt? The pulley then the drum or ??

I just can’t figure out how the belt sits on the pulleys after removing everything. Your video was very helpful:)

Priceless.
Exactly my problem thanks for the idea!

Wow, that sounds dangerous. It sounds to me like your main board may have a glitch. I’d looking into that! Good luck!!
