Ardos swore vengeance, and ultimately escaped justice... Ardos is still out there, guys. They left Orre open to a Shadow Pokémon part 3 😁 I have been waiting patiently all these years for Gamefreak to just approve another game set in Orre.
But - and this is imperative - I'm only buying it if it's made by Genius Sonority. Judging by the direction Nintendo is doing these days, they would absolutely ruin the concept to hell and back if they got their grubby paws on Orre and Shadows
I love how Mirror B has not one but two banger themes in both Colosseum and XD. Their styles are so vastly different yet still capture his personality perfectly in both games.
The only reason they said they aren’t making another one of these games is because game freak knows genius sonority makes better pokemon games than they EVER could. To think they knew absolutely nothing about pokemon and made this absolute banger of a game, true talent.
I think most of the nostalgia comes from being a kid and having endless hours to sink into these games, but the music really does hit differently. The wild west/steampunk themes were also so refreshing in a Pokémon game.

Colosseum and XD offered a challenging new take on Pokemon, albeit grindy and repetitive at times. The playable environment was rich and thick in atmosphere, but was undercut by already limited explorative space further cut up into separate pieces. The game is quite dialogue heavy, and that coupled by the increased difficulty made this a tough sell to younger gamers and those new to Pokemon. But what is Pokemon known for? Catching and battling Pokemon! Each Pokemon caught in these games is often as rewarding as legendary encounters in the normal games (as every Shadow Pokemon actively whittles away its own health), and the models and battle animations are improved upon from the already good Pokemon Stadium series. Then the music. This is among the best in the entire series, Colosseum was already good, and XD took it to the next level. You will know exactly the stakes of a fight just by the music, and the overworld themes also paint incredible pictures for the ear. A true shame we will never get anything like this again.

Pokemon Colosseum is my favorite GameCube game of my childhood. I got about a month after release when I was 12. The soundtrack BOPS, just incredible at creating atmosphere, and those tracks stayed in my head all these years. This game was also essential for me to do my first 100% completed Pokedex on FireRed version, I used the Gba-Gamecube link cable to shuffle Pokémon between these games and Emerald version. Without Colosseum and XD, I never could have gotten Ho-Oh and Lugia. Edit: PS, it was especially so fun to transfer Pokemon not found in Orre and see them rendered in 3D
Bruh this reminds me when i was arguing with 2 friends which pokemon games had the best music ever, one guy said easily gen4, one said gen5 and i just turned on some beats from this game and we all ended up grooving to phenac and were all convinced which is the best, totally enjoying that I got to enjoy this amazing games, in my opinion by far the greatest of all times
If you want a source for one of the instruments, I know for a fact the harmonica is from the E-Mu Proteus series rack synths. That's a good fuickin midi harmonica. I think the sax from Miror B's theme is also from that synth as well but I'm not certain.

I have recently altered my Wii to be a GameCube emulator 90% just to play this game proper. I made sure my brother was with me before going against the final boss so that we both got to see the end of our first Pokémon game. One of my favorite Pokémon experiences, challenging, stylish, and unique. Will NEVER stop asking for re-releases, remakes, and/or just more shadow Pokémon games.

Hardest pokemon game I ever played growing up but always been my favorite. Idk what it is, but I love it even too this day. The way it works with the shadow pokemon and the purification process, it just gives you more to work towards.

these games had such good tracks and were absolute bangers if games for the gamecube. I only wish they would have continued making games similar to this for regular consoles while the handhelds kept the mainline games. I loved having adventures so different. I think that's why I adored Arceus as a game. This game right here though is why I always smile when I get into a double battle. I loved it and I can only think many competitive players who do doubles got their start with Colosseum and Gale of Darkness.
