Honestly it is. As I grow forward as a fan I continue to move it upwards in my faves though. That's the problem with Radiohead. They put out so many great songs. HTTT is criminally underrated anyways.
Same goes for me. You know sometimes when you discover a new artist or band or just a single song and you listen countless times and eventually be like k thats enough. Well this never happened to me with Radiohead. They changed a lot of aspects with my music taste.
The rhythm playing of Yorke and the bass of Colin Greenwood just overwhelms the mind. They're all great, but the way these two sounds interacted--the almost chaotic rhythm of Yorke that manages to never break apart and the very solid footing of CG is pure chemistry.
That’s what I tell people all the time. I found out that Radiohead was mind blowing as a child listening to amnesiac with headphones. You need headphones to really appreciate the beauty and complexity of their music.
Nah I’d say jigsaw is pretty well appreciated. Both this and jigsaw are my 2 favourite radiohead songs I think they are quite similar yet where I end and you begin only has a quarter of how many streams Jigsaw has on spotify
Colin's groove in this song (especially at 2:55) is from another world, definitely one of the reasons I fell in love with the bass and became a bassist. If anything this gotta be between my most fave radiohead songs so I def get thom's headbanging here
This just happened to me. I didn’t really fall in love with Radiohead until a couple years ago and just keep jumping around, obsessing over this album or that album. Finally took a deep dive into thief and Jesus. I really can’t get enough
This song, for me, is when I watched my father die from bowl cancer. I loved him dearly. He will be forever in my heart whenever I listen to this. Thank you, Radiohead. X x x
Lucky for me, I’m old, and when OK Computer came out it changed my life. Been obsessed since 1997. Saw them in Yokohama, Japan, which was weird because the crowd was so subdued. And back then Japan had much more advanced phones that the US and the entire crowd had their cell phones on instead of lighters. I speak English so at every quiet moment I screamed “I LOVE YOU, THOM!!” I think I was like 19 or 20, so don’t judge lol. But it was toward the end of their tour and the set was very short and they didn’t do an encore. It seemed like Thom was pissy. But, nonetheless I got to see them, then again for In Rainbows in Washington. Nigel’s production during that concert was truly magical. There were parts of either Reckoner or Weird Fishes (can’t remember) where Thom’s vocals came out in like waves. It was pure magic. Who would I be if it hadn’t been for Radiohead? ❤❤❤❤
That’s insane. I think it’s their best album. They have other best albums. But this is their overall best 😂 The complexity - I think it showcases all their best vibes.
this song puts me in a place that I can call home. it’s so rhythmic and soothing. when I’m at work I blast this and just get in the zone. Thom and his crew truly made a masterpiece for the ages.
The beauty of these basement sessions is there's a live feel and yet the comfortably of a recording. Great band that loves and understands their stuff doesn't hurt neither
been listening to Radiohead for 10 years. I just listened to this song with headphones looking at the lyrics whilst drunk on wine and oh my god. So Fucking Powerful. Never ceases to amaze.
Omg. I just did the math and I’ve been psychotic fan for 27 years. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing… well.. I just wish those of you who are younger or who have discovered them after OK Computer came out could have experienced the sound of that album at that time. It was thicker sounding, warmer, darker, and in my opinion- it tilted the earth’s axis. For the time- it was revolutionary. Thom’s angelic voice is so beautiful. My mom, who is in her 60s, loves Reckoner. But she refuses to listen to anything he sings because she says his voice haunts her and she can’t fall asleep.
this, like so many of Radiohead's songs, takes the breath right out of my chest. they have a way of thrilling and intoxicating while also providing a very safe, controlled place, and i love the balance they create.
There's a gap in between There's a gap where we meet Where I end and you begin And I'm sorry for us The dinosaurs roam the earth The sky turns green Where I end and you begin Four Five Six Seven I am up in the clouds I am up in the clouds And I can't, and I can't come down I can watch and not take part Where I end and where you start Where you, you left me alone You left me alone X will mark the place Like the parting of the ways Like a house falling in the sea In the sea I will eat you alive I will eat you alive I will eat you alive I will eat you alive And there'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies I will eat you alive I will eat you alive I will eat you alive I will eat you alive And there'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies I will eat you alive I will eat you alive I will eat you alive I will eat you alive And there'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies I will eat you alive I will eat you alive I will eat you alive
The combination of Thom’s guitar, Colin’s bass and EOB’s tones is from 2:55 to 3:25 is perfection. It’s brilliant and makes this more special compared to the studio version. Clearly shows EOB’s magic while listening on a good pair of headphones.
Colin is a monster on this. The rhythm section of this band does not get enough credit. The others can play off them because they are so solid, and here, also incredibly improvisational.
La compenetración de Thom, es espectacular. Me encanta este tema por el ritmo que mantiene en los minutos que dura la canción. Un aplauso enorme para la banda
Edward and Jonny 😍, what a wonderful communion of sounds, my God! It is fascinating to hear them both making those magical and perfect sounds. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I love this song so much...🥰 ❤
Thom and Phil are completely in sync, it’s otherworldly. Radiohead, imo, are one of the best representations of fucking insane musicians just finding each other
I’m happy I did relish those mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights in the beauty of the deep and desolate desert when I did, listening to Radiohead and this song specifically was pure magic under the desert night sky jeweled with bright stars, and under a cloud lightning night show that was electrifying.
Esto es simplemente maravilloso..pasaran 1000 años para poder disfrutar de lo que hace sentir thom yorke...es un desfase la felicidad quebte puede llegar a crear este hombre...sin palabras
The most underrated Radiohead song of all time
Honestly it is. As I grow forward as a fan I continue to move it upwards in my faves though. That's the problem with Radiohead. They put out so many great songs. HTTT is criminally underrated anyways.
completely agree hail to the thief is so underrated
@@multiversechorus imo it could be argued to be just a sgood as the top three albums from radiohead to ppl
I read this comment in every other radiohead song on TH-cam, and somehow I agree every time
One if my fav'
Colin and Phil doesn't get mentioned often enough, they were on fire in this song.
I love Colin. I love them all but I think Colin is my favorite. He's just so groovy I can't even handle it.
They are badass on this song.
FRRR
The bassline literally IS the song
They are incredible
I have a really unhealthy obsession with radiohead. Can't get enough of them. Especially in the basement watching them do their magic
you and me brother
You’re not alone
And I’d say it is very healthy….
Same goes for me. You know sometimes when you discover a new artist or band or just a single song and you listen countless times and eventually be like k thats enough. Well this never happened to me with Radiohead. They changed a lot of aspects with my music taste.
same 💀💀its been fucking months i cant stop

He shakes his head harder and harder every year.
when colin comes back in with the bass at 2:55 is just amazing and one of my fav RH moments of all time
Was just thinking this!
chillz
Almost as amazing as when he comes back in with the bass at the end of Weird Fishes
So Dirty
😢
seven get to heaven
I fkn love that he does that count in this version. Like fuuuuuhhhhhkkkk this song is so killer
Greenwood crawling around like a genius soundboard toad is always my favorite part of these concerts.
2:07 Omg that part with Thom's guitar, Colin's bass, and Phil's drums is priceless
The rhythm playing of Yorke and the bass of Colin Greenwood just overwhelms the mind. They're all great, but the way these two sounds interacted--the almost chaotic rhythm of Yorke that manages to never break apart and the very solid footing of CG is pure chemistry.
Gives me goose bumps
that's not a basement, it's heaven!
Heaven sounds brilliant and cool talented guys their
It's not about the name or the look it's about the atmosphere, right?
7 get to the basement
Collin was MVP here
Listen to this song with headphones. It just blew my mind!
That’s what I tell people all the time. I found out that Radiohead was mind blowing as a child listening to amnesiac with headphones. You need headphones to really appreciate the beauty and complexity of their music.
Those drums!!!!!! And the mean guitar and bass at the end when he’s gonna eat us alive. Ok Thom, you can eat me alive!!
this and jigsaw falling into place = solid pair of underappreciated songs from mid-2000s radiohead
Jigsaw is top 5 for me.
Fk yeah
Jigsaw is my or one of my favorite song of music in general
Nah I’d say jigsaw is pretty well appreciated. Both this and jigsaw are my 2 favourite radiohead songs I think they are quite similar yet where I end and you begin only has a quarter of how many streams Jigsaw has on spotify
This and The National Anthem have some of Radiohead’s best baselines. Well done!
Masterpiece...one of Radiohead's best songs ever.
Colin's groove in this song (especially at 2:55) is from another world, definitely one of the reasons I fell in love with the bass and became a bassist. If anything this gotta be between my most fave radiohead songs so I def get thom's headbanging here

Hail to the thief was my introduction to Radiohead.
I hold this album and song close to my heart.
It wasn't my introduction to RH but it's my favourite album all the same
Lucky for me, I’m old, and when OK Computer came out it changed my life. Been obsessed since 1997. Saw them in Yokohama, Japan, which was weird because the crowd was so subdued. I was first introduced to Just,Paranoid Android and Karma Police… great songs but I didn’t fall in love with Radiohead until Hail to the Thief
That’s insane. I think it’s their best album. They have other best albums. But this is their overall best 😂
The complexity - I think it showcases all their best vibes.
The best live concert from the greatest band of the world.
this song puts me in a place that I can call home. it’s so rhythmic and soothing. when I’m at work I blast this and just

Thomas Yorke and the Radioheads
Continuous, fast clicking sound of a keyboard kind of suits the track
The beauty of these basement sessions is there's a live feel and yet the comfortably of a recording. Great band that loves and understands their stuff doesn't hurt neither

That used to be a warning on their album sleeves.."don't get drunk alone, and listen to this"...😂😂
@@MicksKicks- actually? 😂😂
Why is Radiohead so fucking amazing
What a bleak and beautiful melody.
My new favorite song from them. This version specifically.
Best version
simply radiohead song which means a master piece. I dont understand why Hail to the Thief album is so underrated
For me,one of their best(maybe the best)…
Thom sounds great on that mic. It is like he is in the room.
Love the song, love the feeling and everything about it.
2:39 thom is fighting demons 💀
One of the best emotional live performance I’ve ever seen!
this, like so many of Radiohead's songs, takes the breath right out of my chest. they have a way of thrilling and intoxicating while also providing a very safe, controlled place, and i love the balance they create.
It's like controlled rage!! This song is rad.

still no comments about this wicked bass part?
Fuckn amazing bassline
Best part!
my fav radiohead song i keep coming back to this video
this song just WOW.
Puedo estar horas en bucle sólo con esta canción.
I love this band, pure feeling, all of them are great musicians, the expression on their faces says it all...they are energy and magic.
The combination of Thom’s guitar, Colin’s bass and EOB’s tones is from 2:55 to 3:25 is perfection. It’s brilliant and makes this more special compared to the studio version. Clearly shows EOB’s magic while listening on a good pair of headphones.
When Colin comes back at 2:55 and Ed's guitar and Jonny's ondes sound like screaming ghosts in the background... Goosebumps. Powerful, ominous song.
Man, that bassline is exquisite! Could listen to that groove for days!!! Got to get the vinyl out again.
The most underrated track from the album, my personal favorite
Hermosa cancion, es una de mis favoritas.
The timing on each note of this band is impeccable!!!!!
You are now watching perfection. Enjoy.
that wailing keyboard(?) sound is so special to me UGH
Still next level 20 years on
Love the production of these videos, especially the shots when you can see 2 or 3 members at once, like at 0:42, 1:48 or 2:38.
I'm up in the clouds, I'm up in the clouds, and I can't I can't come down. 💎🖐
years over years and the feeling is absolutely the same with this awesome masterpiece! Long life to Radiohead...
This performance is like a velvet sledgehammer. Thom sets a fiersome pace and those assembled cling to the fray, with glee. Bravo
The guitar is giving crazy chills
So good 2:55 3:10

Better than the album or any live version.

Simply a fantastic song!
Thom even has time to roll up his sleeve while working that guitar with the art that only Thom Yorke can do.
This is truly a masterpiece. Thom on fire! But really they are all masters.
I always return to this video
Thom Yorke you are too perfect to exist, what a musical jewel you give to the world just to exist with you in a perfect symphony.
