would you consider these trucks good for a beginner? (6 ~ 8 months of kind of intense longboarding) like i said i don't have much experience but i'm getting into free ride and downhill lately and i'm looking to upgrade my setup and get something more appropriate for higher speeds
No, just spend time on other cast trucks and at most forged trucks. But if you have the money to spend why not? Key point is you don't HAVE to. I argue against them cause they're overkill for the speeds you'll likely be skating at (less than 45mph).
You pick the wheels you want to run and calculate the tracking width. For example, 120mm Smokies + Cheetahs tracks at about 8.7inches. The 9inch wide Small Blind is a great fit. A deck that is between 8.5-9inches should work well with trucks between 106-120mm and most race wheels.

@@employer6290 Yeah they're durable. Skoas may not be teh best option in that narrow width tho. I'd recommend a proper Slalom dh truck. If you're in Europe try the Exile Hydras

@@downhill254skate just to let you know, i been watching your tutorial and review videos since i started boarding three months ago i bought the Landyachtz drop cat for my son after watching your videos, i went on to buy the dinghys (three of them) and a switchblade (mainly used for cruising now) three days ago i finally bought the small blind/smoky, after watching your small blind in-depth and the truck review ($400 race truck). yesterday, i went for my first ever downhill session with a bunch of local guys (by the way i am from Singapore). towards the middle of the session, i finally was able to do some shut down (superman) slide, then i managed a one hand hand toeside slide… towards the end of the session, i was able to do the toeside slide with more control! i am so excited now… am going to watch all your videos on sliding all over again this is the video of my last slide during my session yesterday, please do point out what i can do to improve on my NEXT session th-cam.com/video/w42vQrQYKZo/w-d-xo.html thank you for all your videos and will continue to learn from them p/s : my three day old small blind is so thrashed up now!

I had Savants. Also skated Cast Katanas for a bit too

I was using Cheetah Hawgs mostly with them. They are 77mm tall and 71mm wide. I've also used Cuei Killers, Seismic Alphas, Magnums, Biggie hawgs, etc.

Do the urethane inserts of the rouges fit the bear smokies?
