Right alot of interest in this car and no it is not far sale the reason it is there is I am helping my friend sell all the other cars that are in front of it so that it can be taken out and put back on the road for his young son to restore together!
I too am a young Capri owner. Mine was my first car 10 years ago. In fact I have this car's sister reg. A28 KVR (I've always thought the '28' reg suits my 2.8 quite nicely). The Young lad will love it I'm sure. Fingers crossed insurance on these things is still cheap for young ones!
I don't know why but i love this Pinto sound 😅 my father in ninetis had 3 Capri, Granada and Sierra with this engines and still good memories when i hear it ❤ now my turn - Mk1 waiting for me Greetings from Poland! :)
Have owned 3 CAPRI'S in my days back in the 70's early 80's. 1600, 2 litre V4 and I was privileged to own a 3.000 litre V6 SAVAGE. JUST WISH I STILL OWNED IT TO DAY.😢 MY V4 I TOTALY REBUILT THE ENGINE. At home after getting it rebored, head skimmed, new pistons, rings, ect. A FANTASTIC car of it's time and still is in the right hands. BUT THIS GUY REALY DOES NOT KNOW HIS WAY AROUND ENGINES LET ALONE THE FORD CAPRI.
In the U.S. they had the Mercury badge and also came with a V6 that was a screamer. Mine was a 1973 with only a 4 cylinder but it was a simple car that was easy to work on and reliable until the rust became too much. Living where it snowed often in the Winter and salt was used on the roads wasn't kind to it at all unfortunately.
Just found your channel. It was so nice hearing the old girl cough into life. Gonna go through your videos and binge watch being ive got some free time at work
I have ownd around 8 capris from 1978 ,the best one was the 2.0 s and 3.0s. Every one has a k&n filter for that induction noise .the capri was a fantastic car .
I had a 2.0s with janspeed manifold and exhaust and a 3.0s which I bought cheap but turned out to be carb'd cologne v6 out of a Granada lol. Long time ago but were fun times. Capris were great cars to learn how to drive in. Wet roads and roundabouts were happy memories.
3:36 ahh yes, the sound of every car in the 80s/early 90s being dragged back to life on a weekday morning in anything other than high summer ( a random Wednesday to Sunday in August).
Great car, brings back some good memories I used to own one back in the 80s with the 2.0 Pinto there was a 1.6 version as well. This one has a water leak at the back of the engine probably from the heater matrix pipes
If your going to put stuff down the carbs on a car thats been lying up for years its good practice to put some 2 stroke fuel down there its helps to lubricate dry cylinders .. great video
Despite the registration showing last mot expired in May 2021 , I can’t see that car having passed its mot in May 2020 unless it was written on a fag packet 😂, also mileage recorded at 11,845 miles colour Black it looks Blue to me. Doesn’t look if it’s seen a mot centre in years 😂 maybe someone has a good explanation. Speedo shows 16,428 miles
i have owned the full range of capris my favourite was my mk1 1600 that i brought from a scrap yard for a £100 (bushy breakers) a very long time ago , i wish i could afford to buy one now
@@geez-hd6dn It wasn't interesting so I didn't bother filming as it's somthing obvious to do so I thought people would just assume I did it but clearly not!
You shouldn’t have to snort a capri for the smell of petrol, they used to manage that perfectly well on their own 😂😂 I reckon the reg plate is worth more than the car !!
the classic car hoarder from hell !!!! even the mororbikes at the back there are now part of the natural foliage !!!! i bet the neighbours love that scrap yard eye sore !!!! ffs !!

That's a strong running little four banger. With a two barrel carb! Cool
That will be a nice project for your friend and son to do.Hope you update on its progress.x

MOT was valid in May 2021 so doesn't really count as a "find" as it was never "lost". 😉
Yes it does 2 years sat is long enough!
@Steven41 That's fair I probely should not have said that did not mean to miss lead anyone!
This actually sounds very sweet when you got it running.

Brings back good memories
I had 2 booted Capris, a 1.6 and a 2.L i don't recall either having a manual choke,i just used to pump the throttle twice to start it.

Where do you buy two stroke fuel?
@@gwaponobby think he meant oil
Absolutely 💯 awesome love the video
Those front seats look like early Audi TT ones.
It's a Ford Capri not an Audi TT.
@ChillToMusic 87 2:49 The side of the seat has a small tab with AIRBAG embossed on it Also, it's from an Audi TT 😂😂😂
@@T4TipsGuides definitely Audi front seats
@@gadgetboy38 I agree, and the rear seats are the original fabric ones.

Mercury Capri. Right.
Bored out to a 2.5 😂😂😂😂 I think you need to fact check
He said stroke it not bore it.
Has not been there that long, last MoT only expired may 17th 2021.
Yeah we are trying to sell the car in front of it so it can be got into the garage
Pinto’s were good strong engines, till the camshaft oil feed pipe fell off, and starved the cam lobes of precious lubricant.
It was the f2 stock car guys who used the Ford pinto engine.
Love a classic Ford 😍
Me two sub for more!
Is the Willys still for sale I saw it on FB a while back
Thought it was her .lost mine thirty years ago when ill , but that engine just not her , and the steering wheel diff,.🤷♂️👍
Before you start a car with a carburettor you should always pump the throttle twice before starting!!
Oh the irony I was just looking for you on Facebook LOL Somtimes my facebook can be buggy so was not sure if you found it ok 😁
Bit sad to see them all out in the open.
Please rebuild her she lives nice 1
Pinto sounds nice, shell looks solid needs saving 👌😁
He is going to save it with his son follow for more of that!
@@classic_britain cool 👍
OMG, please pull it out of there and restore it!

Don't be daft it was before!
What's the story with this one. How did a nice old bus like that become neglected?
My friend runs a fab shop and he is super super busy so just lack of time.
Old Willis hot rod there too....big money 😮?
If people were not wasting out time with it yes!

Amazing how cars can deteriorate in 3 years when left outside, especially with some windows open.
Certainly looks blue, perhaps some 'plate swapping' has been going on.
Leather seats from Audi tt mk1 I’d guess
It's a cinquecento.... mostly 🤗
7 minutes in was enough for me.
Obvs didn't have E10 shite in it! 😆
Nah sod that snake oil!

How about NEW fuel, and clean out carb
We did!
the porsche plates are irish...tidy capri that.
Northern Ireland....not the same as Irish.👍
How long was the fuel in that tank that u was dragging through the pump and the carb?
We drained it off camera was so tight in there I could not film it
Couldn't have been that old. The car was still on the road in 2021.
@@classic_britain will there be more content on the car do love an old Ford being brought back to life
My favourite car ❤
If it’s been standing idle for a few years, the petrol in it would have gone off. It needs draining and refilling.
