Helder dropped some PCB's for PowerA so I wanted to give em a shout! Next time I talk Stick drift I'll be reviewing the new 8Bitdo Controller with hall effect thumbsticks. It appears that there is a growing audience interested in the reliability of their controllers!

I've finished my total technical study of all the bloody trim pot resistance values & posted the perfect recalibration results 👍🏻🎮👍🏻, mastered the buggers. I'll say this I've used 50, 100 & 200K resistance trim pots in the same pad on random axis for the best results just to throw a bag of spanners 🔧🛠️ at a one piece solution 🫠, sorry it wasn't good enough 🫢🤭🥴 for me, follow the mad science ⚡🤤. Keep up the good work. Next to watch your usb-C DS4 switch out charge pair board find 😱 well I never good stuff 👍🏻.
I recently got this fix for my Razer Wolverine Ultimate and after soldering everything into place and adjusting I can tell you that they aren't a permanently dependable fix. Sure they allow you to adjust the minimum rest position which in theory will fix stick drift, they for whatever reason limit the maximum deadzone to the point where you don't even have full circularity anymore, and then honestly they just threw the whole joystick sensing out of whack. I ended up having to learn how to remove solder shortly after utilizing this "fix". Still waiting on someone to figure out a better fix so I don't have to toss my $150 Razer controller (which I love).
If you’re in there soldering and spending $15 you might as well solder a new stick in there. These things make you lose movement range because the smd pots on them are only 50kohm. All of them do, not just this brand, even the new extremerate ones only use 50k smd pots.
Idk how, but I have won the PowerA lottery 4 times. 2 different fusion pro 1s, and 2 different spectra enhanced, two still running with no issue, the only reason they were bought is because my brother absolutely shattered the originals. I've had my second fusion pro for almost 2 years now and it runs absolutely flawlessly, although it doesn't get used all that much anymore due to the fact I got a gambit for fighting and shooting games, and only use my fusion for low-wear driving games
Yeah, strangely my original fusion has somehow survived too. That's one of the biggest Downsides with controller gaming, it kinda relies on you being lucky enough to not destroy your controller due to usage. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it happens over and over again. It really just depends on chance, and proper care of the device
how do you like the gambit ? is it better for shooters ? i'm stuck between getting the gambit and the V2 chroma . i love the mechanical face buttons of my wolverine ultimate , even tho my Y gets stuck sometimes , and my scuf instinct pro has the best triggers ever . despite the clicky buttons of the wolverine , i'm not a big fan of the back button design , kind of uncomfortable & ik the victrix has a nice back button layout i just need someone to convince me to go one way or the other 😂😂

thanks for the explanation of the 2 types of stick drift. i apparently have the latter one, so reassembling my controller i go. honestly, i was willing to write off the controller, but the experience of seeing a good amount of the insides firsthand was a welcome time.
had the powera fusion 2 for a year now, no problem with stick drift. Before that the xbox elite controller developed stick drift in under 3 months. The trick is to never use the L3 and R3 keys because that is what causes the sticks to wear out. Just rebind those keys to the extra keys and voila you are all set for a long lasting controller
Yep, same here. I have 2500 hours of use on mine, Fusion 2 are built better than elite controllers and can be had for $60 around black friday. (Bought mine 2 years ago around then)

anyone help me out with an issue ....I bought my powera advantage controller like 20 days ago and after that I recently downloaded their gamer hq software an a pop up of an update started and waiting for more than 5 minutes it has 0 progress in the updatee so I cancelled the update and unfortunately my programming button and back paddles stopped working for some reason and in the gamer hq software it is showing a non powera controller

I installed the stick drift fix on my ps5 controller and the fix worked (I can recenter my stick) but the input regestration is completly messed up, the stick is no more precise at all.
I can't believe today my razer wolverine ultimate stopped working completely when I barely used it and was starting to like it. While playing r6 with friends and voice chat all of a sudden it shot of and I used the cable it came with for other things and it works great and all i can see for a few seconds when i plug the controller is a very faint light on the profile change button and it doesn't do anything else. Nor in xbox nor pc. Is my controller officially dead can it be repaired? I don't wanna lose a expensive controller I barely used :-\
I got mine at the start of the 2020 pandemic and have been using it pretty nonstop and it’s just now drifting. “Durable” is subjective but thought I’d tell you my experience.
This is the worst idea ever and I plan to make a video about it oke day calling out PowerA, Thrustmaster, and now I suppose nacon. The potentiometers are literally the cause of drift yet they choose to use them for the triggers! Lmao
@@vCuda Indeed. I got a Nacon Asymmetrical a year ago and in a couple of weeks I noticed my throttle (I mainly play racing games) started getting weird. Turns out the values were drifting all over the place. I open it up and hol'up... are those 1$ aliexpress potentiometers on the the triggers? Funny, cause triggers started drifting before the thumbsticks this time around.
I recovered from nintendonitus (tendonitis) I have a trackball mouse on my PC and I took the back buttons off my Xbox series elite 2. On my PC I have the cheap pdp rematch plugged in it is lightweight and has buttons not wings. Just avoid heavy controllers with winged back buttons.
It isn't insanely difficult, but depending on what you're doing it could be tricky. With these PowerA controllers the job is quite tricky, so I'd only recommend it those capable

Meh, soldering aint all that bad, my 1st time soldering was customizing a Mayflash F500 with CherryMX switches in the buttons. I will say tho, DE-soldering is the tricky part....

Im on my second PowerA controller 1st brand new huge drift in right stack. Today a picked a new one and have the same issue...tomorrow returning it. My 2 year old Xbox controllers dont have such drift 🤦. This controllers are a joke.
I will say this at all. The controllers I've had. The fusion pro 1 doesn't have any stick drift no matter how long you have it, That thing will not drift at least every controller I've had and I've had about six. And if you really want to finesse these companies that are trying to finesse us, do what I do, buy a controller or take it back every month I get it from Walmart have three Walmarts surrounding me and I just alternate returning s*** to them so it doesn't look like I'm showing up all the time 💯🤣
Good games already have a dead zone setting. Otherwise keep your controller covered when your not using it my battle beaver is almost 2 years old and it’s because I don’t constantly smash R3 and I keep the dust out
When you increase the deadzone value in game, you lose a ton of micro adjustment accuracy. Deadzones make it so your stick doesn't function within the area the stick drift is happening, but the problem is, it becomes harder to make small adjustments when aiming. Trust me, if deadzones did the same thing, I wouldn't be covering these lol

Can we truly consider lowering the controller's sensitivity through a hardware deadzone adjustment as a "fix"? I'd imagine it's temporary.

Same as PowerA, Nacon uses potentiometers in their triggers as well. They shit themselves in about 2 months tops if you play racing games.

If you don't know how to solder, just use conductive glue.
Any of these modifications with the glue gun thing scare me too much
