  • After having this camera for about 3-4 years, I decided to finally do an in- depth review about the Olympus AF-1. This camera has been with me since the very beginning of my film journey and will probably be until the end! If you have any questions about this camera, please comment down below or DM @jubilee.film
    Thank you so much for watching! Happy Shooting!!

    Nice video 🙂 I got the Olympus AF-1 as a gift a few weeks ago. Shot a film, but lost it on the way to the drug store... well, bad luck.
    You mentioned the "Focus lock"-button. This is a button like the half-press on the shutter button of other autofocus-cameras. On the AF-1 first you focus as normal (middle-patch on the viewfinder). Then you press "Focus lock". Now click the shutter-button. The shutter will not fire, but the focus will stay where it was set. Now you can compose your photo. After that release the "Focus Lock"-button. The shutter will click and make the photo. Your subject is in focus, even if it wasn't in the middle when the shutter clicked. Like the "half-press - compose - full press" on other cameras 🙂

    For the focus lock, just press and hold the focus lock button. Then aim your box at the place you want to focus on and half press the shutter button and hold it. Now reframe your shot the way you want the final image to look like, and release the focus lock button. The camera should fire.

    Can you show us how you edit your pictures from Olympus AF 1? (basically taking the negatives and converting it and then editing part)
    It will be really helpful
    Thanks

      I send all my film to The Darkroom Lab to get developed and scanned. From there I just edit in Lightroom for exposure,contrast and maybe color

    I’ve got one of these in mint condition in my camera cabinet. If you like this camera, you might want to check out the Af-1 Twin. Better image quality especially with the zoom lens and you have the ability to switch between two different lenses. Plus you can turn off the flash.

    Great walkthrough and thank you so much! So this seems like the perfect camera for a night out? Would you recommend this or the ax2 with that flash attached since it's slightly smaller and more versatile so to speak?

    • @jubileesantosfilm
      @jubileesantosfilm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! And I would say it's one of the best for a night out. You don't have to worry if you're in focus or if the flash is on with the AF-1. It really depends on what you need out of a point a shoot. The XA2 is great but you do need to zone focus for your shots while the AF-1 you just shoot. IMO the Olympus AF-1 is the better of the 2 only because I can use it without thinking🤷🏽‍♂️ You can't go wrong with either though! I'm just a big advocate for the AF-1 lol

    • @jubileesantosfilm
      @jubileesantosfilm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man!! i’ve never used the XA before but i know that it’s like a hybrid between point and shoot and a range finder. you don’t have to mess with the setting but you have to mess with the focus on the xa. both are great cameras though, it just depends on what fits best for your style of shooting!!
