    Good to see you .
    I remember when you were working on the metal bridge that you weathered green in the main room.
    I have been collecting trains and some rolling stock in HO scale.
    Hope to have a railroad yard soon.
    No layout just yet.
    Have a great show in Nov.

    An informative video and well worth the wait. I like what you've done with the garage. I did similar modifications with my last garage. Presently working on a plan for the one I now have. You certainly have made a lot of progress on the layout and I like your storage shelving units. Looking forward to reading your reviews.

    Hey Eric, it's great to get a video from you bro and the layout is looking awesome as always, love what you have done in the garage too! Bar some unforeseen emergency, I will definitely be attending the open house this year! Last year I was working in Iowa so attending was impossible, but this year I'm in North Carolina and only 4 to 5 hours drive away, so I will almost definitely be there! Anyways thanks for the video bro and have a great one!

    Nice! It's great to see yet another update! I've been watching since late 2012 or early 2013 (can't exactly remember) once I was really into model railroading. Unfortunately, my work and TH-cam videos about Meteorology and Radio have kind of pushed me out of the hobby due to a lack of time and funding, but I love your videos and work so much!

    I have to admit. I’ve been seeing your reviews over and over again. There amazing. However I’m more and HO and N scale model railroader. I also suggest you get the O gauge 2-8-8 Mikado Southern Railway 4501 by MTH. It’s still available at Legacy station for your choice of train shopping. Being a resident of Jacksonville FL we don’t have as many brick and mortar Hobby shops. Also being a resident of JAX I’m on the Georgia Border. I haven’t been to Atlanta yet. It’s an extremely long drive away. My favorite reviews are the Lionel vision line big boy 4014, the MTH Big Boy 4014, the Lionel Legacy UP #844, the N&W Pocahontas set with 611, and the NKP #765. As you mentioned Rich Melvin, his voice on the 765 and 844, I think Riches voice was on 844 because since she did an excursion for the LCCA, he was the engineer of 844 along with manager Ed Dickens. But only for that excursion.

    Eric,
    Great and admirable amount of work on and around the layout. Also congratulations on your classic toy trains endeavor and yes it's a great publication. I'm assuming from the video that you no longer use your garage for parking cars. I patiently await the video of how you do your roads. I plan to be at your open house. As always, thanks for what you do for our hobby.

    I just started saving my money for a brand new legacy engine, probably a diesel about the size of a SD70ACe, but maybe a small steamer like that beautiful H-10. I am hoping to raise the money in at least a year and a half. I am at about $230 so far, so I think I can do it! Wish me luck Eric!

    most of my mth engines are protosound(10), proto 1(20) a few proto 2 engines (4), some (10) lionel prewar conventional & (8) k-line engines. Tranformers- have 1 mth z4000 with 1 tiu & dcs remote, 1 old zw, 1 new (from 2008) lionel zw, 1 lionel legacy command system. Am I correct that I cant run conventional pre war engines without this double throw toggle switch because, at 18 volts they fly off the track?
    Finding it very hard to make the lionel & mth transformers to work together. very few videos go into detail. My track plan( atlas track) has a main circle, 2nd circle, 4 sidings to park passenger cars, 18 parking tracks for my steam engines. Have power feeds every 5 feet. Seems like a double throw toggle is the only way to run so many different era engines run the layout? I'll try to do some videos so you & others can critique my setup, but I'm very overwhelmed. Using a separate transformer & separate track to run prewar conventional & proto 1 mth engines defeats the purpose of having so many parking tracks ( my parking tracks were so I did not need to lift the often very heavy engines every time I run a diff engine.) Suggestions please

    Do the air purification systems do anything for reducing and/or eliminating the ozone odor the trains give off?

    • @Ericstrains
      @Ericstrains  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Modern trains don't really give off an ozone odor like the older ones do. I'm not sure if they will help with it or not...heck some air purifiers actually ADD ozone. I guess you'd have to look at the specs for the specific air purifier.

    What is the model vehicle size ratio that looks best with O Scale trains?

    • @Ericstrains
      @Ericstrains  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      William Richardson well ideally you’d want to get O-Scale vehicles, 1:48, to go with your O-scale trains. There aren’t that many 1:48 vehicles made so we often end up having to go with 1:43 or 1:50 instead. Those are close enough to O-Scale to where they’ll look ok.
