Frank Sinatra is a legend. One of the best best male vocals of all times. They called him "Old blues eyes" for his intense blues eyes. He was one of the GOATS. Thanks Greg for reacting to Frank.

My Dad idolized Frank and he played him on the stereo every Sunday until he passed. I grew up listening to Frank Sinatra. Didn't appreciate his talent until I was older.

Frank Si-na-tra. One of the greats. He was the leader of the Rat Pack back in the day. You will enjoy learning about him. Good reaction.

Late 1960s release in later years of f his career. The best male vocalist for decades. I was privileged to see him in 1970s with a full orchestra. He was amazing! Love that you are listening to old Blue Eyes Greg!

Sinatra was one of the GREATS! He always enunciated his words so you never had to play back to understand what he said...My God, living in the Crooner era was amazing. My parents had Sinatra, Peri Como etc, playing allot..Just good music all the way around and the words really meant something! Thanks for reacting to Sinatra!

He has many great hits spanning a career of over more than 50 years. The song was written by Paul Anka, an other great artist, who wrote it especially for him, but many other artist also have sang it. At one time Frank Sinatra called this song America´s second national anthem

This was a French song wrote and sang by Claude François. The name was " comme d'habitude" or "as usual". However lyrics were completely differents, French version is about fading love. Sinatra's version is more powerfull.

Now that you have heard Frank’s version, you need to watch Elvis’s version from his Aloha From Hawaii concert. I prefer Elvis’s version. Great reaction, Greg, as always!

Couldn't believe my ears. Name is Si na tra. Old Blues, Chairman Of The Board were his nicknames. Also an actor. Won an Academy Award for supporting actor From Here To Eternity.Frank Sinatra's career spanned over 60 years, from the 1940s to the 1980s:

A little correction on his last name -- it's Sin-Ah-Trah. The original is from a French song entitled "Comme d'habitude" and composed by Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut & Claude François. The English version (My Way), was re-written by Paul Anka for Frank Sinatra. Anka changed the lyrics & slightly altered the melodic structure. The translation of "Comme d'habitude" literally means "as per usual" - about something that happens regularly or that isn't surprising & it has nothing to do w-Anka's re-written English version as we know it today. The video of the original French version w-English subtitles is on the internet by Claude Francois.
Sinatra's daughter Nancy said that Sinatra did not like the song to the point of hating it. Sinatra said it was "self-serving" but performed it many times anyway.
The one who did this song w-full emotion & power was Elvis.

    #6 Adult Contemp Chart USA
    #6 Ireland
    #9 UK Singles
    #22 Pop Chart USA

    Canada went Platinum sales
    UK went Silver sales

What is life without regrets? It's just a learning experience. Actually, what pretty cool is Seth MacFarlane is a huge Sinatra fan and has cut a couple of old school Rat-Pack albums. Bringing back the music like this from the 50's and 60's.

You are right! He had one of the best voices of all time. He passed away years ago. But you really need to dig into his library. Also,, dig into Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford’s music. They were known as the Rat Pack. That were all actors as well.

Frank actually didn't like this song - he thought it was too bragadocius.
There's so much to learn about, and from, Frank.
This was recorded in the the late 70s - 30 years into an amazing life and career.

First of all, his name is pronounced "sin-AH-truh." Might as well learn how to pronounce it since he's only about the most popular male singer of the 20th century, with a career that spanned SEVEN decades! Ask any hundred working musicians who know the history of their craft to name the four male singers that would go up on a Mount Rushmore of the top male singers of the 20th century and Frank Sinatra would be a near unanimous choice, and likely the first face that would be carved into that moountain. Before Michael Jackson, before The Beatles, before Elvis Presley, before rock and roll, there was Frank Sinatra. Probably the biggest male singing star (who was also a movie star) of the 20th century. Frank was THE MAN! You're not even scratching the surface with this song. He has a deep, deep catalog. But here are a few other Frank Sinatra songs that I know you'd love. "The Best Is Yet to Come" (check him out with the Count Basie Orchestra doing an arrangement by a very young Quincy Jones). "Witchcraft," "That's Life," and the "Theme from 'New York, New York.' There are dozens more, but that' enough to get you started.

Every singer of his era had to deal with the mafia as they ran all the nightclubs and casinos. All unions in the country was controlled by the
Mafia so even your common laborers had to deal with the mafia.

Listen to Elvis Presley sing and then react to it to see which one is better. Elvis' version is way above 'old blue eyes'. More emotion, more soul, and better sung. Listen to Elvis sing it in his Hawaiian concert. The first concert projected around the world via satellite.
