This #shorts video shows how to load 35mm film into the Pentax K1000 in less than one minute. Remember to change the ISO on your camera and advance to the first frame!
@@DavidHancock huh, I have a roll of BWC and portra BW in my fridge that I haven't seen any weird colouration on, I wonder if that's the emulsion really starting to breakdown
@@DavidHancockid have to agree though ive seen some expired kodacrome before that turned a muddy purple so it could just as well be expired color film too. (Then agan do tell me if im wrong i dont shoot expired film often)
@@latejake5678 it may very well have to do with colour chemistry/emulsions, that black and white film is chromogenic so it's basically colour film without the dye layers
Im new and im about to sound really dumb so please excuse me. If the knob gets nudged while youre shooting or in your bag, will that slightly wind the film a bit? I ask especially because if i ever nudge it by accident i notice it doesnt spin as much on the next film advance. Ive only shot a couple rolls recently so i havent gotten em developed yet.
You don't sound dumb at all for asking a completely legit question. Film rewind knobs were the original fidget spinners. The film tension sprocket prevents the film from rewinding any until you press the button on the bottom. So no need to worry. In fact, keeping the slack out of the film with the knob (but NOT releasing the sprocket) will help ensure the film is flat and that light focuses correctly on it.
I just got my Pentax today. Everything seems to be great and it seems to advance and roll back perfectly fine, but the lever on the left isn’t spinning. Is this a big issue? Hopefully when I develop it’ll be alright
The way to check that is to tighten up the film -- turn the left knob the direction of the arrow until you have resistance and then stop. That will take slack out of the film cassette. If the knob spins, then you know that there was just slack in the film. You can also open the back off the camera in complete darkness and feel the film on the take-up spool. If you feel the leader end, then you can turn on them lights and reload. If the film wraps around the take-up spool, close the camera and just remember that your frame counter on the top will be inaccurate for the rest of that roll, but everything should be okay.
keeping this handy because im getting my first film camera tomorrow
That's fantastic and congratulations!
Film camera industry is so expensive now, wish they didnt do that 😢
Two possibilities: 1- materials cost and 2- people will pay it so why not.
That’s convenient I have a lot of 1930s cameras and there not so convenient but I prefer their photos better
that was some good asmr
What film is that, really strange purple colour halfway down the leader
Looks like some VERY expired CN BW 400, the old Kodak black and white C-41 film.

Better spool than the ME & ME Super!
I prefer it, too.
