Agreed. I love her little celebration with her fists right before she hugs her coach. Such a pure and happy reaction for what I still argue is one of the greatest vaults in gymnastics history (men OR women). She was such a talented gymnast and very underrated in the media outside of vault. I absolutely LOVED her on floor. Clean, crisp, and well executed tumbling with gorgeous sets and high difficulty. One of the few gymnasts who actually incorporated REAL artistic dance and graceful leaps without looking robotic or cheerleader-ish. Ok. I'm done now. Thanks for reading my "fussy" appreciation. 😂

Apparently it came from her not standing still long enough after landing. She moves right away a waves to the crowed. I am very sure that was the deduction.
@@iamb2348 actually its 0.1 for crossed feet and 0.1 for lack of balance on dismount ... And some of the judges took another 0.1 off for something (maybe off center?) So thats how she ended up with 0.267 deduction

What's more is the oldest participating gymnast for the United States was Mykayla Skinner in Tokyo during 2021 delayed Olympics. She was 24.
It was NEVER "fun" for her. Now that she has revealed the suffering and abuse that was going on behind the scenes, I don't believe any amount of money could persuade her to vault again. Leave her in peace to move forward with her life.

She should've held onto that landing maybe just a few seconds longer. I feel like she stepped out soon because her momentum was still going and stepping out was a way to hide it and still "stick" the landing. Don't come after me. It's a BEAUTIFUL vault. Gorgeous. But people are saying they don't understand why it wasn't a perfect score... I think that could be one reason why.
Biles makes these errors and worse and never recieves deductions. If Biles made this vault they'd give her a 10. She didn't get a 10 because she's white.

The sheer dynamics, height and body form should have earned her a perfect score. Screw the deductions, what happened to bonus points for amplitude? Better delete the 10 if you are not going to give it out!! And, fyi, I am no US or McKayla fan. Just a gymnastics enthusiast in awe of this feat. Kudos, girl.

In college and lower you don’t go above a 10 however in the Olympics to give credit where credit is due they do add points or give a higher start value depending on the difficulty of the skill(s).
The reason she didn’t get a 10 is because she saluted quick after her landing and if she didn’t there would have been a step but she covered it but they could tell

It can't be denied, however, that her second place finish got to her and crushed her competitive spirit. It shouldn't have, but it did. I kept cheering for her to return and get the gold in Rio.

Theres a couple deductions analysts have seen
In the olympics because of difficulty scores and start values due to those you are able to go much higher than a 10.
