forgot to mention: super important to color match full coverage concealers like this one.. the Dune shade is already a tad too dark for me! should have mixed in more of Beech for this video :)
Concealer is the product I have the hardest time with. I wouldn't say I have dry undereyes, but it always ends up looking super dry, and always settles into the line under my eyes. My dark circles are intense so I would love to cover them up but whenever I try I feel like it looks worse than when I started. I've also tried color correctors and brighteners but can't seem to get it right. Do you have any tips and tricks for figuring out what kind of concealer will work best? Or tips for making concealers work?
so the first thing i'd do is only apply concealer (and a full coverage one like hourglass might do the trick since you have dark circles)) in VERY light layers, and only lightly powder down your under eyes using a smaller brush (recommend bobbi brown pressed powder for this or covergirl advanced radiance and an eyeshadow crease brush). do not bake! that'll just dry out your under eyes more. if you're worried though that your concealer won't stay with those light layers, setting spray will be your best friend. don't be afraid to spray setting spray before your concealer, and then after a teensy bit of powder. let me know if this works for you!
@@EatSleepMascara i did some experimenting with what i had on hand. what ended up working the best was using my finger to lightly pat on a brightening cream (from the saem). i did put the nyx hd power on top, first with a small brush, then with my finger, but i couldn't really tell if it was doing anything. it still gathered in my fine lines every few minutes but it was nowhere near as bad as the thinner concealers(i have the tarte creaseless concealer - definitely a lie), and i'd say there was about a 70% decrease in visibility of my dark circles. i'll try the setting spray next time, and be on the lookout for the hourglass or something similar. i live in korea, and while hourglass is one of the few international brands that's sold here, i'm not sure if i've seen the concealer. btw do you put primer under the concealer?
@@leahmae888 yw! anytime :) I do think that creams crease more than liquids depending on the formula. I have the tarte creaseless concealer as well and that one I go SO light so that there isn't that much product. fingers are a great tool! patting is a great technique! I don't put primer or foundations underneath my eyes, I feel like the less layers I have underneath my eyes, the less likely it is for things to crease. :)
