Man your playing is sick. I’m also a warmoth guy and loved this demo. I just got this amp after playing digital through sims for the past many years. It didn’t work though so I have to return it, (it was an open box from proaudiostar for 420) just curious if I should get a replacement or a local marketplace ad for an egnater tweaker 15. Just for studio use and pedals and a 57 on it. Do you have any thoughts on this amp two years later? Thanks again for the demo from someone who knows what they’re doing!

Guess you would make any amp sound good. 😉
Anyway, to me this is by far the best demo of this amp here on YT. Thanks a lot! 👍

You're awesome! Nice playing. Do you still like the amp? How is the hiss when gain and master all the way down?

I never actually owned this amp, this was just a demo I did because the store where I was teaching had one in stock. I don’t recall it being overly noisy, but again limited experience with it..

Did you like this better than a Blues Jr?

    • @loubernard6965
      @loubernard6965  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes and no. It has a bit more gain on tap, and it plays a little “softer” if you know what I mean. Blues jr. has a lot more clean headroom if you need it. They can get pretty loud for a 15watt amp too. Depends what you need. I wouldn’t hesitate to gig with either one.

I'm looking mostly for home use. So lower volumes 90% of the time.

Would it give a nice Jazz tone?
    I think yes.

Amazing. What pickups are you using?

So, that guitar has fender vintage noiseless pickups. Pretty legit, but not quite as nice as a true single coil, imho.. great for clubs with dodgy power though.. lol.

Nice. I have fender 59 pure vintage single coils. They sound mellow compared to yours.

Nice demo. Great guitar playing. But I do dislike that everybody in the demo's says that it is a full tube amp. It is Not! The overdrive is done by solid state elementsw. So you must say it is a kind of hybride. These amps sounds like a dream and that is what counts. A lot of brands sell this kind of amps. Depending where and how the preamptube is placed it will be very difficult to get a good effect from i.e. a fuzzface or treble booster. Those effects will only work when they "see" a grid of a tube at the input.

I got this amp it’s a really nice tone. I would have liked a bass middle and treble knob I feel the tone knob simply raises the high mids and treble and at higher volumes it gets pretty ice picky for me. I just got a kentucky special to compare it. You can get it to pretty similar distortion and crunch however it can’t quite do the same thing, this one sounds thicker I’m not sure how to move the knobs around on the kentucky to get there. The 6l6 seems thicker but brighter. The kentucky allows to taper off the high end and it can get overall warmer but the big difference is so far after a few hours is that the studio ten seems thicker in tone. 3D ish. I had bought an mxr 10 band eq to tame the high end a little . I got both for about the same price. Tough to figure out where that thickness in tone comes from . They also have a Celestion vs eminence maybe going Celestion can bring out that thickness in the kentucky , I’m planning on sticking with one. It’s really nice sounding at lower volumes I just feel playing some harder rock you may be tempted to raise the tone knob to cut with a drummer and simply make it too sizzly.

That’s the “problem “ with smaller Amps I find.. although, I primarily play through a deluxe, or AC30 style amps depending on the type of gig, both are fairly bright, but sit well in a mix.

Just stumbled upon this video again . Yeah so I believe the smaller cbs size gave it a rounder more in your face mid thing. I kept both . Kentucky is nice but more empty sounding .
As you said smaller amps just sound brighter and tighter . I also am beginning to see, in my opinion, they don’t translate into larger cabs well. They are thinner sounding than 100 watt amps and a 100 watt fills a 4x12, a small amp just doesn’t do the same .
I recently played Mesa boogies Fillmore amps, they sound small to me, compared to my other amps . Videos of the fillmores with bigger cabs just make it sound more phasey and not enough mid frequency weight to em .
I prefer a bit of weight to my tone , admittedly, that might counter the crunchy vibe of the fillmores, if they got weighted down with too much low mid tone
