I've had the 6L6 Anniversary for over a year now and I have quit looking at amps. I've owned and sold a Vox Racing Green AC15 and a Tweed Fender Bassbreaker 15. I've never liked Blues Jr's no matter how hard I've tried. I've A/B'd against a Stapleton Princeton (my dream amp) and I can cop similar tone with my Flint. I will own either a Stapleton or 68 Princeton reissue someday but not at the expense of letting my Blackstar go. It's the perfect pedal platform bedroom amp, and plenty loud for small gigs. I don't use the gain channel too often has a cocked wah type sound although not terrible just different. I run Flint, Fulltone Octafuzz, Mini Tube screamer, EP booster, Catalinbread Formula 55, and Flashback mini. They all sound rich and textured. The Blackstar, flint, and EP booster are made for each other btw.

Same old story - prefer clean 6L6 and driven EL34 tones - that's the magic formula!

I got the 6 L 6 Artist, a dream, few knobs no big dial in, sound clean and crunchy.and lead via footswitch...one of the best amps I found so far? ( may be I need the other 2 as well)

Ŕeally great comparison really informative. Can anyone help? Which of the two amps stay cleaner louder and for longer before the clean tone breaks up? I believe the 6L6 is probably cleaner but does the amp design keep it cleaner longer than its stablemates. I'm going for an amp test drive next week. Thanks

Wish theyd give ya a better speaker with this combo! An upgrade to a creamback would sound amazing. Really excited to try this with pedals tho

It would have been even better if you had used the same guitars for both amps. Had shown the differences better.

I've only tried the 6L6 in person and I really enjoyed it although I could not hear if its meant to be tweed or blackface style. I used a Gibson ES-335

So these are just re-branded Artist (6L6) & Artisan (EL34) amps? And the KT88 is a rebranded Series One?
