Nice install, I was looking at direct fixing mine, but the wired setup looks handy if something goes wrong, the points don't look quite as small as a switch lite chip which is good.
Hoping to try this myself, totally new to modding really. So, this doesn't require any other kind of software? just, plug in the chip and.... my UK games will work on my Japanese cube??
G'day, I never considered the wired method, I guess you sold me on it. This way I can check my work and correct it if needed. It makes sense. - The GameCube console itself has become interesting again, when affordable HDMI cables made it to the market. Before that, it was like; the Dolphin emulator it is. ✌ I've seen Xeno chips as low as $3 on eBay. 😁
where did you get the Xeno chip? I cant seem to find an original, only clones (Xen8). Not that it matters, already have the Xen8, but from what ive read in reviews, the Xen8 and other clones have a higher fail rate than the originals. Another reason why to do the wired method, replacing a failed chip is easier.
I want to play my console with back up copies using mini dvd's. I noticed that you did all the modifications using a orange Japanese console, (xeno chip). Does this only work with a Japanese console or can I does this (bridge and xeno chip) on usa consoles too?
Yes I am as much as I have time.... I had a baby in July 2018 so my time is now much more limited. When I say "I" had a baby, my wife did. All I had to do was touch her inappropriately and bam. Baby time.
Only reason I bought a used wht Wii. To soft mod it so I can play Gamecube game's with Nintendont. And be able to play Wii, SNES, Genisis, Neo-Geo, Etc. All from external HDD.
I have completely ballsed this up, poor soldering skills, it seems I have lost a pad on the circuit board. Any idea how to fix? Nothing will stick to it.
Doesn't the GC release the disc if you press down on the center? Prying the disc off like that could cause damage the disc and system in the long term.
Yes you're right... I'm so used to SEGA stuff I just lift discs out. The GameCube was a nice console for the time. I'm glad the retro modding community is still enthusiastic about it. The digital out HDMI mods are interesting and something I may look further into. thanks for watching
I have installed xeno chip in my PAL console to play japaneese games. For some reason japaneese Paper Mario is still unplayable, showing up (NO MESSAGES) just before game meant to start and then freezes the console. Does anyone know how to bypass that?
Just don’t go below 120ohms, but just go down slowly and test. You can go too far very easily which will also not work, so it’s a slow process. Your laser may also be stuffed (broken).
I like ur fancy mat to hold all the screws
Whats amazing. Even if you don't have a Xeno Mod chip. You can bridge R5 and it automatically translates the main menu to english.

Hi Bro! May i ask what gauge of wire did you use?
30
Does this allow you to play a Japanese game and turn it to english? (Like the text for Pokemon xd)?
Yes it plays Japanese discs but doesn't make them English if there's no option in the disc
@@HOWLWOLF from what I've read there's no way to make it play in english witch it super stupid.
Yay you're back!!

retroPendrix Get yourself a SD2SP2 adapter and load a PAL ROM.
Any help with what values to have the pot?
