    Hi there! Any comments on the Simvertex V7....integrated sequential shifter, and other improvements....

      They had said they were going to send me a unit to review but I don't think it's on the table anymore for whatever reason. I will say the bash shifter is amazing. I bought one recently and it blew me away.

    Interesting comparison. I had a Thrustmaster and two Fanatecs before I got my ProSim. I’d like to try some other shifters like the BDH but I’m so pleased with the ProSim I don’t wanna make the effort or wait months and months for a BDH.
    What’s the weight limit for that motion rig? Can you really notice a difference in performance if you put the cover on BDH?

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a question I get asked often with my real cars. I took out every single thing that wasn't necessary to the basic function of my WRX's. You can't look at any one piece as an individual item, think about everything as a whole and you begin to realize it's the mentality of saving weight that saves you weight rather than just taking things off here and there. I removed hundreds of pounds off my bolt ons only 04 WRX and I smoke STI's because of the power to weight ratio.
      My 06 wrx is even more aggressively gutted and has the increased engine performance to boot. ;)
      Weight is extremely important but to answer your question point blank...no I can't feel that difference but it seemed unnecessary for my personal use. ;)

    Just received my bdh, love it, but having the same 2nd to 3rd issues you had. I’m going to try and adjust mine as you indicate here. Any tips on the best approach to trimming that nub - is it removable or do you have to do it in place?

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use a small wrench on the flats near the base of each nub. Just sand or file a tiny bit at a time until it's perfect. Mine no longer does that at all.

  • @RVRCloset
    @RVRCloset 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Really interesting review mate!👍
    If it haven't changed with high demand, I could tell Dave and Billy what shape I wanted for my knob.
    And I also have controller issues with RBR and Forza games, but that goes for most of my gear, not only the BDH. I play most sims and games on the market, and those two games are the only one I have issues with when it comes to the BDH.

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you much for sharing! I didn't know there were different knob options. I hope I was clear in the video that BDH being a custom-type operation, it's easily doable to make small changes like threading and basic knob shaped. On videos I've seen, the teardrop knob didn't look as small as it actually is in real life.
      Part of me wants to review the product as it would normally come from BDH but in retrospect, I would definitely want an M12 1.25 threaded shift rod so I could pop on any of my knobs from my real cars. It's something I didn't even think to ask but if someone forgets to ask (cough me) it's nice to know what the standard setup feels like.
      Luckily I'm not into Forza games, and I kind of feel like the type of person that is willing to spend this much on a single piece of gear won't be looking for the type of experience Forza offers, although I have heard it's a lot of fun and it would be nice to have it work flawlessly with all games.
      Overall, as we both know, it's an amazing shifter and is definitely worth the money for those that prioritize feel over anything else. :)

      @RVRCloset 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DouglasThompson Could be that I picked to get a aluminum knob, that they could custom make it for me?

    The BDH build quality for the price seems to be very poor. You can actually pop out the stick out of the socket? LoL

      Great comparison review mate, i love the engineering of these items, especially the BDH, it’s a piece of art, put I can’t justify them price tags for what I use a H pattern shifter, I’ll stick with my fanatec v1.5 , it’s low on immersion but a pretty solid shifter !!!
      If my numbers ever come up then who knows ??? 👍
