Nice at the Mirador there! Just a little tip, Mercadona sell wipes called “Intimas” they come in two formats, a bag with pull top and individually packed in foil packets that come in a cardboard box. The individual wipes are a little larger too. They are intended and designed for intimate areas (as the name suggests). I find them very convenient and the foil packet is big enough to put the wipe back in after use, until you can dispose of it. I usually have three or four in my top tube bag and that’s enough to deal with matters! Congrats on the ride, are you intending to come back next year? Hopefully it won’t be as humid!
Oh this is a great tip!! I had no idea. (need to spend more time in Spain to find out these secrets)! Thanks for watching.
i was experiencing excruciating tendonitis in my achilleas as a junior training and racing 400-500 miles a week and finally found out one of my legs was shorter than the other. a bike fit missed it but the podiatrist did not. i would be interested about the shim solutions, pretty cool. great vids btw. congrats a well!!
bummer about the bit fitter missing it!! The shim is from this brand: www.form-bikefitting.com/leg-length-shims
Great video, thanks for sharing all this its super helpful. I'm doing my first Ultra event in March, the Cloudride 500km (prologue) for the 1000km event and will use some of your tips and advice. I can't wait to get stuck into it. training now to build up for it,maybe another video idea if you haven't done that, what training do you do for something like Badlands? or other Ultra's compared to for normal gravel races
Woah a prologue and an event, how interesting! Good luck with your training. I did a video about some of the training I do for ultra racing here: th-cam.com/video/pr_eSEYHTBc/w-d-xo.html
I will do one with a more scientific approach at some point in the next year!
Thanks@@wattwagon all the best in your next events
thanks!!@@Tim_McMurray
Thanks for the video! Want to get into ultra cycling so it was super useful and interesting. And very well done! 👏
thanks for watching! cheers
How do you deal with your contact lenses during a race? I saw that you carry extras so do you swap them out, throw them away, or put on your glasses to give your eyes a break? I’m about to do a 300 mile race and trying to figure that piece out.
I bring 2-3 extra sets of contacts. I have been pretty lucky to know have had to change contacts, but I occasionally have to use the individual eye droppers I bring. If I was to ride longer than 72 hours I would consider bringing a pair of glasses to give me eyes a break. Good luck in your race!!!!
I jumped at the "maybe go and get a bike fit"! Going into an ultra *without* having had a bike fit seems ludicrous to me! 😅
The bike fit!!!!!!!! So damn important
Enhorabuena! Way to go! Whopper or bocadillo? 🙂
impossible WhoppeR!! only because I do not eat meat. Bocadillos in South America though... delicious guava candy- yum!
Is there some maximum limit for completion? I saw that the last classified racers made it in approx. 127 hours. Is this the maximum time for the race?
I believe it's 6 days. starts sunday AM and Friday PM is the cut off!
Hi! Are you competitive in other facets of your life?
I sure am! I grew up with 3 older brothers- everything is always a competition 😂
