Congrats and well done =) I've got my first ultra of the year coming up end of March, it'll be the first time I've done an ultra so early in the season, usually late Spring. With some shockingly bad autumn and winter weather here in the UK I can't but wonder whether I have put in enough training ahead of the race and a distinct the lack of training off-road compared to last year. The trails are in such a bad way here. One positive I can take is the race location, it's in the canaries island so the climate is very temperate so really looking forward to dusty tracks and trails, and welcoming the warmth with open arms.
agreed on the training in crap weather. it's not easy, even if your plans are to go to a place with good weather. Are you doing granguanche gravel? I did it last year! what a beautiful place those islands are!
it was great to dot/watch you. im doing it in less than 4 weeks. 😬😬😬 any suggestion on the wahoo set up. did u have all the climbs on, did you have to zoom in often? how was the navigation on it?
how exciting!! I usually leave the map up with my distance power and heart rate. I write down the climbs in a note on my phone and consult it occasionally but the wahoo does a great job of telling you when climbs are coming. I will also consult the wahoo climb specific page as well.
Congratulations on that race, great job! That front suspension bike with drop bars (or some more "curly" flat bars?) sounds like the ticket for next time?
Hi Cynthia, I regularly follow you on TH-cam. Well done for your deserved win. two questions: what is your next race? do you think pushing your body to the extreme limit might impair your health in the long run? ciao from Venice (Italy)
I am racing the traka 560! May 1st. and yes, I think I have to be very careful with how long, often, and many of these events I participate in. But I love them too much to say bye to em! Ciao!
Congrats on your win, great effort! How did you fix your headlight to your ventral, was it velcro or the standard fenix mount combined with a strap? Cheers
thank you so much!! I have a video coming out shortly about how I affix it! But I use 3M double sided tape. I don't like using velcro! lookout for the video in the next few weeks! amzn.to/3TWZOUh
yes! I loved them. they were a huge help for sections that weren't super bumpy. I found myself looking for them when I got home while riding my full sus mtb!
no ear plugs. I should probably consider it for my long term ear / hearing health but I've never done it before. It was mega windy at points and that definitely makes a difference on your hearing!
how dare they... to be fair I was sleeping outside. you'd hope that if you were outside maybe you wouldn't have to deal with the extra noise. at the checkpoints- sure that's to be expected.
Congrats for the win and thank's for the Q&A video!
thank youuuu!!!!! glad ya liked it.

@@wattwagon Thx for pointing out! It looks super clean. 👍
Great video.
Thank ya! Glad you enjoyed it.
Did you end up liking those inner bar ends?
yes! I loved them. they were a huge help for sections that weren't super bumpy. I found myself looking for them when I got home while riding my full sus mtb!
Did you bring earplugs on that race?
no ear plugs. I should probably consider it for my long term ear / hearing health but I've never done it before. It was mega windy at points and that definitely makes a difference on your hearing!
People snore while you are sleeping? How dare they!…
