The issue wasn't even with the contents being correct or not, it was with them drawing excessive current. They couldn't be read due to being shorted out from either overvoltage, or most likely being installed backwards. I have commercial grade UV eraser and Programmers from Data I/O 29B to modern Dataman units that do comprehensive checks on the devices. These were all bad and not recoverable.
The boards in the video are a computer. Many collectors prefer all original hardware, just like classic cars. Raspberry Pi is even easier than your MAME setup. None of the emulation methods reproduce gameplay 100%.
I doubt 10 bad eeproms, i would have just put them under a uv lamp for 20 min and reprogram them.

That is funny. I have none of those boards needed for my MAME versions of all those games. Just a simple computer takes care of all that stuff.
