    Nice job! One final tip I can give you is to heat your spray cans in some warm water prior to spraying. Will give you a much finer spray!

      Awesome! It was super hot out while painting so I assumed the cans were well heated, but good point for folks in colder climates or cold garages!

    I love that You and Your videos are so authentic, «Don’t... trip over a wheelbarrows» 😂. Hope you didn’t hurt yourself. «Don’t... use PS-smoke for windows». Everybody do mistakes in RC, I ruined the 3 speed gear for my HPI Baja on the first test race today. That’s $ 150 out the window... But you saved the day with this video RC-Girl! Thanks!

    Really good video. I just purchased a Tamiya re-release Lunchbox black edition to reintroduce the RC, and gave myself only one condition: do a damn fine job finishing it. Great attention to the small details, and to getting the correct products for painting on poly substrates.

    Amazing amazing results. Just leave the cans in warm water for a finer spray out of the can. Also on the last layer I normally assembled all the painted parts for a uniform and consistent finish. All around. But you sure make a super super awesome paint.

    Great job. I would just add that it's always a good idea to use at least a surgical mask or a respirator for health and safety reasons even though you might be painting outside in open space. They'll help prevent paint particulates from entering your respiratory system. I personally use a 3M respirator with replaceable filters.

  • @cesco_rc
    @cesco_rc 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great how to video. Tinting the windows does work with Tamiya PS-31 smoke, but the trick if you wanna see through it is to just add one light coat of PS-31. The more coats you apply the darker the color gets. But the window tint film is also a good alternative. The matt finish really looks very cool and I like the blue color. You did a great job!

    • @RCGirl
      @RCGirl  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I thought the PS-smoke would work too. I've used it before on lexan bodies just fine. But for some reason it reacted badly with my window plastic and made it look like it had been sanded... super weird! I should have showed photos of it.

    • @cesco_rc
      @cesco_rc 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RCGirl Well you got it solved now. It happened to me too that I just added one coat too many and than the result was too dark. Sometimes you can try it again by removing the PS paint with nitro fuel 20%.

  • @thebigfut

    Something I have done in the past when painting a hard body is to primer the body and then paint the entire body the gloss black for the interior before you apply the body color. Mask off the interior and anything you want to keep the black color and proceed with the rest of your paint process. When using metallic paints, I have been known to put a silver down between this coat and the final color finish. Add the gloss or the matte clear coat and it's just got a look unlike others who use the same color on their vehicles.

    This came out beautifully. Can I ask a question? So im trying to paint my hard body but everytime i use the tamiya masking tape to make the lines so I can paint the other side a different color when I take the tape off it leaves a streak of residue that makes me have to start all over and sand it and paint again but all I will be doing is going is circles. My question is if I leave the residue will this clear coat cover it and make is vanish? Or do you have a suggestion to get rid of the residue? Before you suggest some products I did some researching and I tried Wd40, Water, Goo Gone and using more tape to stick it and bring it up but none of these work
