    This video is a great example of what initially drew me to your channel and kept me coming back: You not only recognize that some people can't easily do every pose perfectly, you clearly love and respect those individuals just as much as those who can. You always have advice on how to do the pose to the best of one's ability, and you offer encouragement and praise for simply making the commitment to show up and be present in the moment. Whenever I hear people say they've tried a yoga class and it wasn't for them because they felt rushed and/or kind of embarrassed that they couldn't do all the poses, I suggest they try at home with your channel. I explain how chill and supportive you are to anyone who wishes to join you, and point them to these single-pose breakdowns as a good starting point. There are plenty of other yoga channels on TH-cam, but they've just never clicked with me the way you did, and still do. (As a side note, you also have truly one of the most soothing voices I have ever heard. Just hearing you talk makes me unwind a bit.) Thank you for your hard work and your willingness to welcome anyone interested in yoga into your home once a week. ❤️

    this was the best pigeon tutorial I've viewed. I feel so much more confident know I don't have to have that 90 degree with my leg. I'm not that flexible. thanks!

    I'm a runner whose been having severe tightness in my hips and top muscles on the front of my leg. This pose has been a lifesaver! Thank for your not just showing the pose, but for taking the time to show deeper stretches and ways to modify it. I can't wait to check out your other video. Thank you.

    Thank you for bringing to light the fact that I should NOT be attempting to have my left knee at a 90 degree while doing this pose. The first 3 sources I found ON THE INTERNET told me to do so and I was not doing this stretch as well as I could have been. I just tried keeping my foot closer into my body (minding to keep a little 'brightness' in my foot) and I feel I'm getting much more out of this position. Thanks!

      Also, the hip rotation.... I was doing that as well. :(

    • @buzzingtalk
      @buzzingtalk 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      So true! I'd always been taught to make a right angle with my front leg, which meant I felt nothing on my back leg, just an awful pain on my hips. I just tried it now and got far further down than 'usual'! Considering i have very stiff and painful hips, i will find much more benefit by not worrying about the right angle of the front leg.

    This video quite literally changed my whole world! I was doing a bedtime routine that called for pigeon but she had pillows blocking her and I hadn't done it yet.... Found this to learn it, and now I've found myself binge watching (and doing) all of the little tutorials! I keep returning to and giving up again on yoga, Bc I can never find someone I enjoy watching and listening to and following along with! Until now.... Thank you so much, I am so inspired!!

    Thank you for not rushing through this pose and offering alternatives for those who aren't as flexible, such as myself. I am a mech engineer who works from home and I was having back pain throughout the day. Come lunch and I decide to stretch and come across your video on the pigeon pose. Now I feel so much better and can go back to work without as much pain.

So- I am so glad you took this time for yourself. Your message inspires ME. Thank you! I send you love and hope you continue to find the time and joy in the journey! xo, Adriene

    Maybe I will just have to come to you and teach a class!
    We do carry a lot in the hips- & I plan to do a hip releasing sequence but for now- spend some time on your back relaxing the hips- the front & the outer edge. Draw circles with the knees- one leg at a time. Then bring your palms to your knees to draw circles with both. Close your eyes & spend some time here- softening that area of the body. THEN- work your way to Runners Lunge. Lots of great hip helpers - I will do a video for you!!! xo

    This post is changing my life. My plantars Fasciitis reoccurred after an intense period if stress. Nothing would help. I read that I needed to open my hip flexors. I found this video and it's making a huge difference on the iliopsoas muscle which was in knots and screwing up my posture, my hamstrings, calf muscles, and finally my feet. Thank you for this!

    I can do the 90 degree variation, but today I found myself really appreciating the modifications with the blocks because it really made me focus on the sensation. And it felt amazing when I wasn't thinking about whether I was doing it "right!" I think I'm going to be sticking to the block variations for a while. What an eye-opener. Thank you, Adriene.
