    Through the practice of yoga, you can learn to focus on the present moment and let go of worries about the past and future. It's like a moving meditation that can leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Thanks for the instructions.

    It’s so true how grateful you feel when the instructor finally says to move into downward dog lol it really becomes a resting pose.

    • @richieortiz5
      @richieortiz5 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Kelfie b I can’t tell you how much I hate this pose, is it because my shoulders are so inflexible or my hamstrings? I don’t know but either way it’s pure torture and discomfort.

    • @Kelfieb
      @Kelfieb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Richard Ortiz it took me like a good year to learn to love it lol I think more important than the flexibility is the muscle strength eventually you get stronger in that pose and learn to distribute the weight. Even if you’re very strong, muscles can be weak in new poses I think

    • @Go_Won_Hee
      @Go_Won_Hee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Richard Ortiz definitely pure torture for me physically and mentally ( I even tell to myself I hate life in this pose 😤😂)
      What I cannot figure out is I ve been doing pilates and fitness for more than 10 yrs.. unbeliavable result for me, I cannot believe this pose is a resting pose, I cant even stay more than 5 secs without hating anything 😂😱

    • @Kelfieb
      @Kelfieb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aleph 😂 I think I can relate in chair pose. I feel like crying if the instructor makes us do it lol. And I use my legs all day why do they feel so weak in that pose?

    • @Go_Won_Hee
      @Go_Won_Hee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kelfie b oh that pose is another killer one 😫 I asked and searched the answers of these why questions to myself a lot.. I mean when I see the People once a week coming to class and doing nothing about stretching/ pilates/ weight working but they were suceeding in these poses and Cowface arms pose , I was very much demotivated and had very much pain trying them so I decided to quit doing yoga 😔
      In quarantine I wanted to start again .. coming to the answers I am searching why I cannot succeed, Yoga needs everday a lot of practice I think , I believe it is so related to stretching.and some poses ( cowface) needs genetically some longer muscles I dont know. I tell to myself some things are about the structure of the body + Stretching + practice 😣

    I really used to hate this posture so much when I first started several months ago. My shoulders and wrists screamed everytime. But I fell in love with the transition of curling my toes under and lifting my hips up high. That's what did it. Steady practice made my shoulders and wrists stronger. I don't need a man to open a pickle jar for me anymore!

      @Kimi_A23 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@janets7291 honestly I don't think I have the completely flat back, but I know that over time the pose got easier to do. I got my friend to take a photo of me to see how I looked doing the downward dog and realized I was hunched. So I've been conscious about that and try to be "flat" and I guess being mindful about it is the first step? Oh and my heels still don't completely reach the ground but I hope one day they will.

    I actually enjoy Adriene's yoga tutorial videos! Perhaps she makes me feel happy and energetic with her fun and quirky personality. Because most of the yogis I found on TH-cam or I met in real life all sound very deliberately elegant and soft? And they make me feel a bit of pressure as if I don't belong here if I get excited and having big smile on my face. I don't know how to explain that and I'm not sure if this even makes sense to anyone. But the point is Adriene makes yoga fun and relatable again!

This lock is like a suction cup image- grounding down through all parts of the hand but then drawing energy up, like straws through the arms and engaging the body. Integration! To ground, press into all knuckle joints! Spread hands wide and have fingerprints firm.

    2021 recently completed 30 day Breath. I fell in love with yoga, I fell in love with downward facing dog, I honestly love love love this pose, even more so without pedaling my feet. Sometimes it helps give my energy somewhere to go! I just love it. I am so envious of everyone that's known of this AMAZINGGGG human I only just discovered. I wish I would have known about you and could have been following you all this time! I started yoga finally by typing in beginners yoga and found Adrienne by the grace of God it was right as she had put out breath. Instead of diving in head first I did her beginners video once a day for a week like she suggested. I did the lower back video a few times as well then started breath a few days after everyone else. I stuck with it every day . I'm a 31 year old single mother of a six and three year old girl. I work four days a week and despite even being sick then taking care of my two sick girls I didn't miss one day. It made me feel better, I anticipated it. There was no dread, if anything I was so happy and proud of myself for taking that time for me. On the last day 'begin' I cried with Adrienne getting all emotional. The video was magical. I felt life I had bonded with her and get guidance. I could hear her words through the whole video. When in plank I still whispered I am strong. I reminded myself to breathe, tried to internally coach myself the way she would and was so sad when it was over even though it wasn't truly over... It had just began. I'm continuing my journey, incorporating yoga in my life. I can't wait for more 30 day videos. I would love love love to see more guided videos for children!! I want to involve them so badly 🤩🥰😍💝 Thank you so incredibly much Adrienne, for everything. For all your hard work, dedication, for being such an incredible human whom I truly adore 🥰🥰🥰 The whole world needs to know you 🥰🥰💝

I knew my arms needed some additional love, but I didn't realize just how much until I did this video and my arms barely made it through. So not only did I get a good stretch, but it cued me in that I am not taking proper care of my upper body to counter the demands I'm placing on it. Ah, serendipity. :)

    Started watching your videos a few months ago and haven't stopped since. This is my first time seeing a video you had created so long ago. I just want to say thank you so much for sharing your love, passion, and persistence in yoga with us all. So motivating and inspiring. I look forward to my daily practices and am so thankful to have them so easily at my fingertips.

    Thank you so much!
    Had really tight traps and lots of pressure on the lower back - this fixed it!
    I've been doing yoga for a year, but this was definitely the best explanation for downward dog.
    Any comment readers and those you tubers scanning the plethora of yoga video's for the most effective teacher, Adriene is it. Plus she's easy on the eyes.

    Thank you! this was a great explanation of the downward dog, especially the keep moving part. this became a lot easier to "hold" if I keep stepping and moving

    SO helpful, Adriene - I love your encouragement to move and feel good. I've always been the muscle-shaking-stressed-out-static-pose-holder in this position :)

    This is the most difficult position for me right now. I'm getting serious sacrum pain to the point of collapse on the way up. Going through the steps slowly like in the video into this posture have definitely helped along with lots of hip stretching and sacrum massages.

    My running group actually cooled down by doing this pose tonight! I was stunned at first, but we did pedal our feet! 😣
    Now I know how.

    Day 146 (part 2!) of the current run. Had a bit of a knot in a leg muscle so I was extremely mindful while doing this - it actually helped tremendously. I’ve done yoga long enough to see this as a rest pose, especially after a length of a bunch of lunge and warrior variations.

    it’s 2021 now. i just randomly chose one of 30 days yoga programs of you, revolution. it’s my 21st day today. i just had to skip 3 days because of unexpected situations about my work, but revolution program is the only thing i actually commited recently and i take it very seriously to meet you on the mat. BUT... i can not. even. do the downward dog. that’s a legit motivation killer for me, still not being able to do the pose makes me feel like i will never get the best of the experience.
