What we discuss in this video: trying british food, rating british food, rating american food, which food is better, US candy, british candy, american tries uk candy, american tries uk snacks, brit tries American candy, brit tries American snacks, trying british candy, - บันเทิง
The US uses a lot more fructose liquid syrup in foods where in UK we use sugar granules
Well that's because US Fanta is not juice, it's soda and that's basically water, sugar, food coloring & carbonation. A lot of US foods now have both the imperial & metric, some only have the metric.
guys, not sure when they changed, but salt and vinegar in the UK used to be a blue pack, is was changed to green, and im not sure if green back in the day was cheese and onion, i could be wrong on that part, but salt and vinegar used to be blue, if you see smiths salt and vinegar they are blue like the old days
I’ve only ever seen it in green packaging. I do prefer McCoys salt and malt vinegar tbh, so if I pick up chips (or crisps as Cal likes to say) that’s what I’m choosing AND the packaging is blue 😅 -Ari
@@AriandCal yeah i get what you, im 60 years old, back in my day golden wonder and smiths as a child were the big brands, then walkers took over, and maybe the time they hooked up with laze was the change.
we had sweets, candy that would never be sold now, candy or sweets, that looked like tobacco, from the western cowboy movies, where they ha da little pouch and rolled a cigarette, we had the look alike in pouches, we loved the pouches, because the pouch was great in the 70's when playing marbles were a craze, the pouch held your marbles for school
also we had candy, to look like cigarettes in a cigarette box, whit candy with red tip, would never happen now lol
flavours has gone from that era, we used to have bovril crisps, which were my favourite
salt and shake, plain crsips with blue back of salt that you added yourself, those you can still get,
It’s the Mandela Effect, it didn’t change
Golden Wonder were the crisps of the 70's and 80's not Walkers and yes the colours of the packaging was the opposite to what they are today.
@@bit-ishbulldog2089 they weren’t. My grandfather worked for them
Got a subscriber 👍🏻
Their Cheetos look like NikNaks
You are so right! I wonder if those are still sold, we should have bought those to compare. - Ari
dorithas in the uk are always full of flavour
Oy where's me Irn bru bruv?😂😂
Alu kai tae sio mai ikai ke lau engish kae Kau te'e pilo pe
You need to look at the ingredients on the packaging, I bet the list is longer on the US items?
Oh for sure, the food laws in the US are less strict than the EU/UK food laws. I was genuinely shocked at how quickly food spoiled when I lived in Ireland, and then it made me realize how much preservatives are going in our food back in the US 😳 -Ari
I did not like the uk Fanta when I tried it. Bland
@@bigjon19871 it’s definitely has a different taste, but seeing the difference in color I side eye orange Fanta now 😅 -Ari
Orange Fanta looks closer to Orange Crush here in America.
I sometimes have a hankering for a grape Crush soda though. 🥤🍇 😋
I don’t know how it is elsewhere, but in Finland the calories in chip bags are 100 grams not the whole bag and drinks for 100 ml not the whole bottle.
@@sirpakuparinen7309 yes, it’s the same in the UK, the US ones were a little harder to work out but I guess that’s because it’s different to me.. I can’t remember exactly how the US products were, as this was a while ago now.. but I’m sure we’ll do this again at some point with more detail and direct comparison 👍 Thankyou for your comment ❤️
-Cal
overall then guys, which was better?, the taste or the flavour?, let me know!, thanks ❤❤
@@johnshea5967 taste and flavor would have to go to the US for me. Although, perhaps health wise it isn’t the best 😬 -Ari
Nice vid
Arent the lids like that so they don't end up in horrific wildlife images?
@@natashafletcher600 Yup, pretty much.. it’s definitely a better way of keeping the bottle together! -Cal
re: Cheetos - texture wise, I'd say Cheetos are more similar to Nik naks.
I don't think the UK manufactures Cheetos, so it would be very difficult to find a direct comparison.
We do however import Cheetos and Takis etc (at ridiculous prices)
@@alpachinko9154 yeah, idk why Callum didn’t think about nik naks, there are Cheetos that are chunky which are similar to wotsits and tbh the wotsits crunchy would have been a much better comparison. We just couldn’t find any in Tesco the day we went 😅 -Ari
The UK doesn't have Ranch, so having ranch on a package trying to sell you something wouldn't work. Doritos or otherwise. 🇺🇲
US Fanta looks like cloudy Iron-Bru
Ari, you're from the United States and he's from the UK. I don't get where you're coming from because in the United States our sweets, chips, candies, and soda has always been the same. Where are you coming from as an American? Help me understand as an American. Thanks. 🤔
@@bjishername I don’t understand the question. When did I say the sweets, chips, candies, and sodas changed in the US? -Ari
Yeah @bj. I was trying to guess the accent as well. 🤔
From: Ohio, 🇺🇲
@briansmith48 I was born and raised in Florida
Fanta used to be very popular in the US in the 60s.
I think it’s still pretty popular now -Ari
Fanta is the worst soda brand ever!!!!! Tastewise, ther are so many better options, even generic or store brands are better tasting. 🤢
@@aliciarobinson4107 I’m a fan of strawberry Fanta, not sure what generic brands you’re referring to (not sure if you’re from the US or UK), but there are definitely worse sodas out there 😅-Ari
The first time I heard of Fanta was in the mid 90's.
I'm from the Midwest, so it must have been a California thing I'm guessing??? 🤔
@@briansmith48 From WI here.
US biscuits are nothing like scones. Scones are good.
I like both scones and biscuits. They may not be similar, but to me, they are both good. - Ari
Lay's and Walkers are both Lay's made
Yeah for sure.. I’ve never understood people that say they prefer one over the other, I think it’s a placebo, but then again I don’t like crisps 😅 - Cal
PepsiCo own them. They decided to keep the Walkers brand in the UK as they were well established.
@AriandCal they don't taste the same
@@charlestaylor9424 you’re right, they don’t - Ari
19:31 Are you thinking of the wotsits crunchy or Nik naks.
Yes! NikNaks definitely have to be included when we do this again ! -Cal
US Fanta is about the same colour as IRN BRU
@@williebauld1007 Yup, that’s about right ! lol
@@AriandCal it won’t taste as good tho! The only soft drink to outsell coke in a country tho lol (im Scottish if you can’t tell lol)
@@williebauld1007 We'll have to get Ari's reaction to trying IRN BRU, she loves Fanta
@@AriandCal IRN BRU is absolutely unique tasting, I’ve seen Americans say it smells and tastes like cough syrup to cough syrup mixed with bubble gum, all I know is it tastes like IRN BRiU and will cure everything from a hangover to the flu! Oh and you guys should react to their best ads
@@williebauld1007 Thanks for the suggestion ! We’ll add that to the list! 👍
48+48 146 wtf hahahahaha
@@watsupgardeners4023 idk if those were the exact figures in the video but math is not one of my strengths haha -Ari
Malt teasers vs whoppers . Whoppers lose!
@@jovansqualls4392 I don’t think I’ll be a fan of either 😅-Ari
Salt and vinegar in britain are green cheese and onoin are blue.
@@janiqueperkins9201 yeah, in the video, I explained that it always confused me because it is the opposite in the US -Ari
Only Walkers, all others are the other way round.
Seems like he wasn't going to like the US ones, regardless. Think he major bias.
I think he's just more mindful of what ingredients are in the food rather than just focusing on the taste. -Ari
American chocolate tastes like shite. British chocolate or European chocolate is tidy.
There is good American chocolate but it's on the expensive side usually
I feel like foreigners always equate American chocolate to Hershey which admittedly does take like crap.I swear Reese’s is the only thing that keeps them relevant.
There are some regional brands that are pretty good though and as far as national brands go Mars and Nestle are both better than Hershey. Great amusement park though
