I met Laurie Holloway in the Sahara Hotel Lake Tahoe in 1974, in the lobby. I asked him why you were not singing the great songs from your In Time LP (out at the time). He really was nice, but did not answer my question. Sadly all those shows in the mid-70s I never got to hear you sing, In Time, Too Beautiful to Last, or I Never Said Goodbye. Three of your very best. This LP, Another Time, ANother place was not one of my favorites, because you did not hit any big notes on this particular LP. You came back strong in 1978 however with that LP. And on your 1978 tour, you were in top voice!

I found myself very interested in the arrangements, the orchestration and of course your background singers. I never really Paid attention to the arrangement. I do now. Brilliant!! Another classic gem album. My Parents here in Canada bought it in the Fall 1971. For some reason I don't know why but DECCA Record Albums and Singles were released under the London Parrot Label in Canada and the United States from 1965 to 1975. I have a bunch of Albums from the Rock Bands The Who and The Moody Blues under the DECCA Records Label. The Bass, Piano and Sax are my favourite instruments. Back to the Another Place Another Time Album a superb one of Classic Country Songs Covers. It is hard to choose which are my favourite. I love the covers of Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through The Night" which American Country Singer the late Sammi Smith (1943-2005) had a big hit with the year before in 1970 and Canadian Country Singer Anne Murray's "Talk It Over In The Morning" whom she had a big hit with in 1971.

This is definitely one of the great early albums of yours. Very familiar to me from when it was released 50 years ago. I pay attention to the arrangements and orchestration of each song. Please highlight the great drummer on the song Revivin' Old Emotions! I wonder if he is the same drummer who played on Santa Lija? Both songs feature brilliant drumming which I have always admired and wondered who the drummer might have been. Thanks a lot!

My favourite songs on this great album is "Another Place, Another Time" and "Help me make it Through the Night". But I love listening to all of the songs, each is unique with your wonderful renditions. You said that "Days of Icy Fingers" is a difficult song to sing, but, you sing it so effortlessly because after all, you are the Maestro of singing and music, Engelbert Humperdinck, MBE. When I listened to the song "Morning" no where is the word Morning mentioned and shouldn't the title word identifying the song be featured as part of the lyrics of the song? Could it be that this is why you somehow don't remember this song?. Just asking. The trophy you got from Decca and the tremendous success you had is phenomenal, and is so well deserved, so go ahead and tap your shoulder, I second the motion. I love those DECCA albums very much! I grew up listening to these albums because my dad was a huge fan and played those albums everyday and the 8-tracks in his car when i was a kid! I already had the original vinyl albums and also the cd's but i bought the Decca box also being a great fan!

Happy Flashback Friday Engelbert, so nice to see you again and yes we are sure, no need to have wasted time in changing it, you look splendid in that shirt. Thank you for shining a light on the two sisters who performed the background vocals. You made us aware of how much these singers enrich the quality of the tracks. My favourite songs on this great album is "Another Place, Another Time" and "Help me make it Through the Night". But I love listening to all of the songs, each is unique with your wonderful renditions. You said that "Days of Icy Fingers" is a difficult song to sing, but, you sing it so effortlessly because after all, you are the Maestro of singing and music, Engelbert Humperdinck, MBE. When I listened to the song "Morning" no where is the word Morning mentioned and shouldn't the title word identifying the song be featured as part of the lyrics of the song? Could it be that this is why you somehow don't remember this song?. Just asking. The trophy you got from Decca and the tremendous success you had is phenomenal, and is so well deserved, so go ahead and tap your shoulder, I second the motion. I love those DECCA albums very much! I grew up listening to these albums because my dad was a huge fan and played those albums everyday and the 8-tracks in his car when i was a kid! I already had the original vinyl albums and also the cd's but i bought the Decca box also being a great fan!
