  • Of course it is. Now stop listening to scaremongers and enjoy your leftovers, and use this short video to explain why it is (also convenient for sharing with Great-Indian-Kitchen type uncles who want fresh food 3 times a day)

    • @sugarcandy243

      @@arvind1120 It does taste different but whether that is good or bad depends on the food + yourself. For a lot of different curries (thai curries and indian sambar style dishes) the taste actually intensifies when you leave it in the fridge for a day (similar to marinating meat or paneer). It may lose some heat, so I will taste and add some chili powder/salt or green chilies as needed.
      Other foods, especially fried food, taste best when hot and fresh. They will typically become soggy or lose the crisp texture within hours. So you may not want to store them, doesn't matter outside or in the fridge. Sometimes you can reheat them in a convection oven to bring back the crispness. It's worked for pizza, bread, nuts, etc for me. But it still doesn't lose whatever nutrients it had when you made it.
      The bottom line is that storing and re-heating food is not inherently BAD at least in respect to losing nutrients. Home cooked food, even after few days in the fridge, is just as nutritious when reheated. And definitely better than 'fresh' takeout!

    I've tried to explain this to older aunties in India. But the propoganda machine is quite strong on this one 😢 I moved to the US as an adult in 2012 but my mom was relying on the fridge since the 90s and the microwave since about 2004. Over the years the number of people who tell her it's bad for you has only INCREASED. I've since told her not to believe anything that appears on Whatsapp or Facebook, or whoever says they read it on there.
    What I've discovered since moving here is a strong love for the freezer 😂 especially after the pandemic. Not to store processed food (cuz that shit ain't ever good, generally) but to make batches of food in advance, freeze chutney cubes, stock, sweets, homemade tamarind paste, green chili paste.. The list goes on. The fridge maybe empty one day but my freezer will always be full!
    We badly need to replace our obedience to authority with critical reasoning classes ASAP.

    My parents, (Dad is 89 touch wood)regularly make food for 3 or 4 days. Carefully portions into smaller dabbas - dates them and stores them in the fridge and freezer to consume over the week. This gives them enough time to peruse the newspaper😀, do their favourite crosswords, watch the sunset or take walks - rather than repeatedly making minuscule amounts of food and slaving more than 3 hours in the kitchen. And they have been doing this for more than 3 decades. A good refrigerator and careful packaging helps. And there is no shortage of variety of home-cooked meals in their refrigerator for when the odd guest drops by. 🙂

    Forget about losing prana.Whether prana is at all there in fresh food or that prana stays in cooked food in the first three hours? afterall food is just combination of chemicals ,fats,starches etc.Where is Prana according to modern science? It is a myth.there is no prana at all.If at all science say food has prana,how is prana defined?

    • @geetanjlisharma4203
      @geetanjlisharma4203 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      There can be a lot of debates on this topic. I am neither defending ayurveda nor modern science. There is no competition between the two since we are not running a race and are looking for genuine things and concepts for our health. But to answer your question what prana is how is it defined ? Let me tell you that not everything can be proven with a particular definition and evidence. Actually it's not our fault that we have been brainwashed in searching for evidence. Certain things in life should be applied according to the circumstances. For instance how do you define soul? Does soul exist? Has anybody ever seen it? Why can't we see it in Xrays and MRI's ? Again highlighting that I am a science student and not any ayurvedic practitioner . I follow dr pal , dr ryan and especially the health enthusiast under whose video I am commenting but I also follow satvic movement and a lot of other ayurvedic practitioners . So the point that I am trying to strike at is :- Don't follow one thing and boycott the other. Both the world of science and ayurveda has so much to offer to mankind and being against one will deprive you of the benefits of the one world. Don't ask what is prana . Eat fresh cooked food everytime for a month or so and then eat leftover food for the same amount of time and see whether there's a difference in your energy levels or any criteria for that matter . If there's a difference then you will know what prana is and if you don't see any difference then you have also got your answer. It differs from individual to individual . I definitely understand you but please try to understand this as well. Maybe prana is something that has benefitted a ton of people who understood the assignment . I hope you understand . I am in no way against anyone . This was my opinion and the rest is up to you. Thank you.

    Its not about whether eating left over food is right or not. Its a simple fact that food once cooked will spoil with time. You are just extending its shelf life by refrigerating it. Even if you do that, it will spoil but not at the rate at which it will if left open.
    You are addressing a convenience scenario. But there is a holistic and an alternate way of looking at it.

    Fresh food is about Pran Urja and that progressively deteriorates with time. In India in ancient times the educated gave the concept to the masses but not the reason - perhaps the masses were too simple to grasp logic. Now only the loosely handing concept is left and the rational that was known to select few is lost and hence becomes an easier knock-off.

Recently a girl died of eating synthetic sweetner as i can observe you talking about everything is ok even talking too much against what's written in our Ayurveda which i believe was not written from mind , it was purely a wisdom flowing through higher states of the being Patanjali.. with all due respect just sharing to rethink how much you really need to share ur understanding about the food
