"We've got almost 200 names here" My niece's graduation yesterday took 40 minutes with cheering, speeches and all. That's what a class of 21 will get you.
My old high school had its graduation down to 45 minutes flat. The superintendent had it SO staged that it ran like a well tuned clock. Even the beautiful bound diploma covers were blank inside. The graduates picked up their diploma's later when they turned in their caps and gowns and assured "non rowdy behavior" during the ceremony. In MY opinion, that ruins it. My own graduation from the same school (which I spoke during) took a lot longer (about the same amount of graduates). But when I was handed that diploma, I had it right in my hands. My mother, who graduated from the same high school also, had hers on the football field. But that was already banned by the time I graduated and it still is almost 40 years later!
My kid had a Covid graduation 2 months late and everyone was allowed to cheer like mad! No prom, none of the traditional senior year stuff. He was in the class that lost his senior year in high school and his freshman year in college. I feel horrible for all of them, but they are resilient. Finally having a life again.
One year our principal had the police standing around to escort out any parents who got too loud. Things got out of hand when someone refused to leave and was arrested. After almost losing his job he decided that wasn't the smartest move and didn't try it again.
Omg just let the parents have their moment - after everything they go through to get that kid up on that stage parents should be able to celebrate as much as they want(within reason lol)
It’s just a given in southern school graduations that there will be cheers for every name by both family and friends even if they are graduating with you.
Families cheering for their children are the best. Children may act embarrassed by it but they do appreciate being loved enough to have people there cheer for them. I am so glad mine screamed for me. You should see university graduations in my country, people dance and cheer almost the entire ceremony.
The west coast version would have a bunch of Samoan/Hawaiian grads each wearing a giant lei made of an entire bush from someone's front yard. Oh and hella kukui nuts 😂
My graduation got cut short because of rain, I never heard more cheering when the principal announced that they were skipping speeches and just going to hand out the diplomas. Students and our families all cheered! The only ones that cried were the Valedictorian and Salutatorian because they couldn’t read their speeches. Apparently they did at some awards ceremony a week later, I only know that because my friend was getting an award and had to sit through it. He said I didn’t miss much.
Preschoolers and kindergartners have 🎓 ceremonies?!? That’s silly!! THAT IS JUST PLAIN SILLY!!! Honoring and applauding preschoolers and kindergarteners just for simply moving on to the next level of education- like elementary school/grade school!- is like honoring and giving them accolades for BREATHING! Recognition for something as small, and trivial, and inevitable as simply turning 6 and advancing on to grade school is SILLY because it is like honoring and recognizing someone just for BREATHING!! That’s SILLY!!! At a preschool 🎓 and at a kindergarten 🎓, I doubt kids that little would even understand/comprehend what is happening!
I don't understand why, for YEARS now, they always say "no cheering or applause" when no one ever follows it! And why SHOULD they? Parents and families are PROUD of their kids as they SHOULD be! When I graduated high school almost 40 years ago, applause was allowed! As it was with my parents before me. Just let them do it!
Usually I believe rules are for good reasons and try to follow them… but being quiet at a graduation is one rule I will probably never follow! 😂 no point in them wasting their breath with that rule
I’m sorry 🎓-lovers, but I do NOT think aging out of the school system and its services and then having to get a job/enter the workforce- often in jobs with minimal vacation time in the year!- and having summer break and all other breaks taken away from you right at the end of college/university or high school the way you had recess taken away from you upon graduating from elementary school and transitioning into middle school, are things that merit applause and cheers and accolades. 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐
This would have been even more hilarious if Keegan played Coach Hines doing the graduation ceremony..I would have loved to see how the parents would have reacted to that!
My first child graduated in the 80s. I was so out of touch. I heard parents screaming, shouting, and stomping for the 1st time at a graduation, it frightened me and then I just sat back and took in the whole show.
LOL this had me in stitches. At my niece’s graduation, there was over 500 kids graduating and the parents and families acted like this. They were hooting and hollering nonstop, and throwing confetti. This was pre Covid. The poor announcer was losing his mind.🤣😂
And just what is wrong with that? At MY graduation almost 40 years ago, one could cheer. Now one cannot. Its a happy time and one only graduates from high school ONCE. Just build in extra time. And if parents can't donate ONE evening (or afternoon or morning in some cases) to such an event, something is wrong with THEM! ADHD perhaps. Its MY generation who HAD nice things which seem to want to ruin it for future generations.
@@retroguy9494 It’s rude, inappropriate, and makes some people uncomfortable. Especially kids that don’t have large families or any family there to support them because they financially can’t afford to take time off, are sick, or because the kids are orphans, or are foster kids. In addition, it increases the length of the ceremony, which in turn costs more money, and time of the staff and administration. I don’t know what kind of place your graduation was in, but hers was in an arena. They had to get a permit for it (which costs money. Violating the permit costs even more money, along with legal fees), not to mention security costs.

Btw I appreciate your knowledge of MAD cast members, season 14 had some solid players that I wish we saw more of.
When I graduated from HS, I don’t remember there being a lot of hollering, but I remember for my sister we yelled and clapped. She graduated early and I had custody of her at the time. We were so proud.
Love this because it’s true. There’s every type of Family at graduations. That’s not a bad thing either because it takes all types to make our world go around. 😀
Omg lol. "Booo! We FOUGHT for yuu" lol "c'mon little white baby come live with us, we'll feed ya biscuits" LOL.
"We've got almost 200 names here"
My niece's graduation yesterday took 40 minutes with cheering, speeches and all.
But why was my university graduation exactly like this...my family always have to be yelling😂😂
I love Alex in this! His expressions are golden, especially 3:31 😆😆😆
This way to spot on for black families 💀💀
In capitalism, no lives matter
Wait till some SJW notices that and cancels the show
@ONLY 4C A E S T H E T I C you guys did that when the original post specified “black families”.
😕
i’m graduating this weekend and i really hope it’s like this
It will be.
Congrats:)
Same
I graduate the 27th
Well. our heartfelt congratulations and best safe wishes to you.
"WE ARE SOOO GOING TO DAVE'S BUSTERS AFTER THIS" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️
"We like to call him Simon Biles" lmao
My kid had a Covid graduation 2 months late and everyone was allowed to cheer like mad! No prom, none of the traditional senior year stuff. He was in the class that lost his senior year in high school and his freshman year in college. I feel horrible for all of them, but they are resilient. Finally having a life again.
For all Seniors of 2021, the best is yet to come for you. Wishing you all of our best and our congratulatory greetings. 🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓
You did it!
Please leave
@@nightisright1873 You're a Principal Alex Moffat, aren't you? LOL
One year our principal had the police standing around to escort out any parents who got too loud. Things got out of hand when someone refused to leave and was arrested. After almost losing his job he decided that wasn't the smartest move and didn't try it again.
That’s so dramatic 😂
I wouldbe done the same thing with the police
Grownups acting like fools, so it isn't a surprise when their kids do too.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg just let the parents have their moment - after everything they go through to get that kid up on that stage parents should be able to celebrate as much as they want(within reason lol)
1:32 TOOK ME OUT 😝😝😝
Holy hell every facial expression that Alex (the principal) makes seems to look almost natural and makes me die of laughter! Especially at 3:30 🤣🤣
It was funny as hell😂
the most subtle of the performances that gave the skit more depth
The Dave’s and Busters joke got me more then I thought it would
Congrats Class of 2021!!
🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓
Aye me this year! Class of 2021!
2:20 the way he says back flip is funny..
It’s just a given in southern school graduations that there will be cheers for every name by both family and friends even if they are graduating with you.
That's truth
Families cheering for their children are the best. Children may act embarrassed by it but they do appreciate being loved enough to have people there cheer for them. I am so glad mine screamed for me. You should see university graduations in my country, people dance and cheer almost the entire ceremony.
The west coast version would have a bunch of Samoan/Hawaiian grads each wearing a giant lei made of an entire bush from someone's front yard. Oh and hella kukui nuts 😂
This was so funny, I wanted him to go through the 200 other kids.
👏🙂👏🙂 “Nice one, go girl.” 🙂👏
I went to my little brother's graduation today, and no one would shut up, even when the announcer said to hold all applauses for after the ceremony.
Magnum Come Louder 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@3:08 Latisha Allen " A white gal name Latisha " OMG LOL
“We’ll feed you biscuits and cheer while you eat” bwahaha
My graduation got cut short because of rain, I never heard more cheering when the principal announced that they were skipping speeches and just going to hand out the diplomas. Students and our families all cheered! The only ones that cried were the Valedictorian and Salutatorian because they couldn’t read their speeches. Apparently they did at some awards ceremony a week later, I only know that because my friend was getting an award and had to sit through it. He said I didn’t miss much.
“Aw if I knew, I would’ve cheered”
She had me at GRADIATION 😂
LMAO😂😂😂😂. It happens at the preschool and kindergarten" graduation ceremonies" too.
Would’ve been the greatest episode ever if Keegan and Jordan peele hosted together
I totally agree!
@@sarahlongstaff5101 😊😘👍
Usually I believe rules are for good reasons and try to follow them… but being quiet at a graduation is one rule I will probably never follow! 😂 no point in them wasting their breath with that rule
@@lisag.4054 Thanks! I'm glad you agree with me! 😁👍
This is extremely accurate to both my brother’s HS graduation and my college graduation lmao
this is so hilarious bc this is literally all the parents at every event I’ve gone to
Meet the Disruptive Parents.
My first child graduated in the 80s. I was so out of touch. I heard parents screaming, shouting, and stomping for the 1st time at a graduation, it frightened me and then I just sat back and took in the whole show.
She’s the first one in our family to grad ie ate!
2:17 Simon! do the Black Flip!
@@retroguy9494 you just got adulted.
@@retroguy9494 lol ok boomer
@@samanthaarmes4305 And proud OF it too! What good things you kids missed out on!
