Reminds me a bit of Failure, another space song. Love these guys. To those who are complaining about the vocals: check yourself and listen for the obscure harmonics. There is something different to this.
They can be both and they are. Both music critic sources and the band themselves have used various labels, including post-rock, shoegaze, post-hardcore, doom, sludge, stoner rock, etc. in describing their sound. Doomgaze is also a thing now.
Hopefully we get some new new next year, always going back to Further Out and Time Well often. Nothing quite hits that "feel" for me like Cloakroom, except mayyyyyybe Nothing (which Doyle is now part of!!!) but it's that doomy/fuzzy goodness I miss. 2022 will be the year of Cloakroom I swear, next album will be MASSIVE.
If you're not familiar with them, you should definitely check out Actors & Actresses. Very similar vocal styles, also super influenced by Hum, who you may be familiar with. No longer a band sadly though :/
Hum is one of my all time favorites. They've been touring sporadically the past couple of years, hopefully i can catch them at a show before they call it quits for good.
@@nicmantzivis8978 Nice. It was one of my favourite albums of 2020. Ohms by Deftones was one of my other favourites. I see you have the self titled cover as your display pic. That album is a masterpiece. Take care
Ryan Douglass because Pitchfork calls anything with quieter vocals or reverb shoegaze these days. Although I do think this does have some shoegaze influence, it's not strictly shoegaze. Not that it matters though because Cloakroom is badass.
dont really see how that is holding back bands from their potential, and maybe that band should consider signing to rock-o-rama records (alhto i don't see that happening since they broke up). i think you should at least wait till your 13th birthday if you are going to comment stuff on the internet considering all of your childish ass edge.
Doomgaze.
damn, beat me to it.
Reminds me a bit of Failure, another space song. Love these guys. To those who are complaining about the vocals: check yourself and listen for the obscure harmonics. There is something different to this.
Like a mix between (the band) ISIS, Failure, and Tru Widow
My bro said to check these guys out because Hum is one of my favorite bands. Sounds great. He knows me so well.
I discovered this band when I was looking up hum on Google, glad I came across them, wanna discover more shoegaze bands.
Check out the Italian shoegaze band Mondaze, they’re very much a MBV/Lush/SWANS mixture. I think you’d like them.
I need that shoegaze post grunge noise rock in my life. This stuff is sick
I think the words you're looking for are Doom Metal
Vaughan Roderick Lol, what? This isn't even close to Doom Metal.
this feels more post rock influenced like it sounds similar to Pelican imo
@@VaughanRoderick Hahahahaha, no.

massive sound
alot of people complaining on vocal but i think its great and perfect for the band.
I’ve never once heard a complaint about Doyle’s vocals.
best music i’ve ever listened to. makes me a wanna cry every time i listen to this. really touches me
Immense surreal delicious noise for my head. Great band
They remind me a lot of Hum. This is good because Hum rules. Therefore, Cloakroom rules.
YES!
Have you pherhaps found any other bands with a similar sound?
@@tudordiaconu863 try True Widow - also on Relapse.
@@tudordiaconu863 Deftones, Failure,
They are recording a new LP with one the Hum guys. Who also did one of their EPs.
*"Hi. My name is Matt Pinfield, and you're watching 120 Minutes."*
Fucking amazing. Alex Henery doing an amazing job at directing.
God bless you and your families omg
Hopefully we get some new new next year, always going back to Further Out and Time Well often.

I saw them last year, fucking amazing show. I may be seeing them again this month as well.
To be honest this is the 7th time I've listened to this song today and WAY better than Hum
Have you listened to Hums Inlet? Kills this
@@Polyfusia Not bad just listened to the whole album.

@@Polyfusia Yes sir that album is amazing, in particular I really enjoy Needles & Pins, Chi's back up vocals and screaming was next level!
this is good stuff... keep it up cloakroom, very nice.

Totally my taste! !!!!!
I detect a hint of old school Katatonia. Some of my fav vibes.
Haha thought I was the only one! It'll totally fit somewhere in Tonight's Decision indeed :)
Or discouraged ones!
YES
Damn, where did these guys come from? This is great.
Kristofer Southwick run for cover records 😏
They live in Chesterton, Indiana. This video was filmed in Michigan City, Indiana, however.
Ugh, YES
Listen to the lyrics, man life is tough, carry on.
So much fuzz :O

Doesn't 'remind' me of anything... and it's really good. And I like that, that's what I like 🌳

Holy Shit! It got me good!
This is amazing just found this. Fucking crushes
90 seconds in..jaw is on the floor.
Very nice song! Congrats fellows!
Diggin the vibes
Music sounds like Hum.
Vocals sound like Hum.
Singer looks like the singer of Hum.
The vocals of Hum sound like a James Hetfield 😂😂😂
Shoot the moon!
FUCK YES
that riff is utterly swervedriver deep seat. like, uncannily not sure why nobody's noticed.
💚
I CAN'T HEAR EM
Remind me a little of Pallbearer
I got Pallbearer vibes from this too
Gives me that "Fresh Tendrils" Soundgarden vibe, y'know? But heavily sedated.
Never thought of it this way sooo so true
Sounds like Hum.
brad negrotto Yes!
Hum and bands that sound like hum are amazing.
Fucking amazing.
bad ass
I think Matt will always chase the Lash/St. Pierre vibe and not quite find it again
Anyone else feel this video was strongly influenced by the video for Daydreaming by Radiohead ?
These guys are so much better than Nothing, it ain't even funny.
They are both amazing but Nothing are better imo
No competition here, they're both brilliant. And I love that Doyle is also with Nothing now.
Doomgaze?
Sounds like hum and castor
Reminds me of new orleans is a the new vietnam but gazer
Awesome song. Dunno why Pitchfork is calling this shoegaze, though.

Oooh sounds like baroness and COC
dude this rips
Slightly softer Windhand.
Kinda A perfect circle/king woman vibe
My sister is friends with the lead singer. I'm serious.
Heavyweight as fuck.
Внезапно, заебись!
Nerd rock
If Deftones were a Midwest emo band
too bad this chops the outro. great fuzz
Stoner Emo....lol.
keep taking from run for cover their holding bands back from their potential
