NOTHING’s third full-length recording, Dance On The Blacktop, is the next chapter in the band’s tumultuous story and like its predecessors, pulls from all corners of life with a focus on the bleak and despairing. Captured by renowned producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile) at Dreamland Studio in Woodstock, NY, Dance On The Blacktop is a stirring collection of songs accentuating the band’s love for all sounds 90s from both sides of the pond; from alternative rock and shoegaze to the realms of pop and post-punk. Across the course of 45 minutes, NOTHING weave together nine tales of heightened confusion, anxiety, paranoia, depression and chronic pain juxtaposed against angelic yet apocalyptic, reverberating walls of shimmering sound. Dance On The Black Top is a fervent, emotional tour-de-force, the sound of a band at the peak of their individuality.
That is such a wonderful description of this album and their music in general. It really makes you feel like you are not alone and like someone truly understands. I have followed them since "Downward Years To Come" and I can without a doubt say they are one of my favorite creations in this world.
Nothings song “Dig” helped me get through 11 months of prison. I didn’t even know who wrote the song at the time but it was my anchor. I’d sing it in my head on the days I was feeling like I couldn’t pull through. I still do it now being free. It took me almost a month after getting out to find your band. I’m glad I did.
This song came out during a very scary and uncertain time for me when I was homeless coming back from the Navy. It helped me embrace the darkest part of my soul and come out of it healed. Music is a wonderful thing.
I've been listening to this album once per day for a few days and I'm not tired of it yet. This fills the gaping hole that Smashing Pumpkins can't fill anymore.
This was the first song i heard from them, my best friend from rehab introduced me to this song and since then we've been best friends for two years and I've loved everything about this band
There's a balance between playing it safe and really knowing the pocket of your sound. Nothing have straddled that like for the last few years exceptionally well.
Aaron Heard is the new bassist in NOTHING ( Singer in Jesus Piece / Awesome other band but in other style : Beatdown Metal chaos-mosh core ), thIs guy have a very open spirit musically & it's very cool to see this band('s) offer us a new breath in hardcore indie music scene.
Everything starts the same Infinity Oblivion Light abandons me Exhale sky Swallow vanity Hostage of unspeakable mistrust Motionless migration of dust Blood that binds Oxygen and time Beautiful rarest plague Light abandons me I guess I wasn't meant to see Hostage of unspeakable mistrust Motionless Emotionless Empire or rust Feverish children In the Lions Den Gather them all Empty sky of everlasting misfortune The Harvest is dead
Not sure what to think, yeah it's grand but wow! It's heavy/ dark honestly really curious as to how the rest sounds, there tunes have gotten me through alot so deffinetly have to buy regardless 😊

it's awesome
Why does this track sound so muffled? Sounds like a poor mastering job, or was it intentional?

Why you go to prison bud
I'm so happy that you've found comfort in music, man. I hope that you can live your life to the fullest now, kudos to you.
Nicky from Nothing went to prison too

A long hard 11 months big bro !!!!!!!!

Hell yeah brother
Proof once again that the 1990's was a fantastic, powerful and important decade for rock music.
Love the sound.
Reminds me of Deftones a bit
90s alternative/indie rock will always be some of my favourite stuff and it's so good to hear newer bands incorporate that sound
Nothing short of incredible. Goosebumps.
I really love his gentle vocal harmonies. It reminds me of Katatonia back in their Discouraged Ones era.
That's a nice point. Discouraged wad their best album for me.
Nothing is one band I don’t even worry about because I just know they’re going to put out great stuff, proven here again.
Actually there's something to worry about - Domenic Palermo fighting Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE)...
Vasiliy Atutov sad but true.
Just found this band last month.. can’t stop listening to them. Hope they blow up!
Such a potent song. My favorite of theirs.
I've been listening to this album once per day for a few days and I'm not tired of it yet. This fills the gaping hole that Smashing Pumpkins can't fill anymore.
Really outstanding from the time that chorus kicks in at 2:33 until the end.
The last part gave me chills! Just discovered the band 2 days ago and I'm addicted !
This was the first song i heard from them, my best friend from rehab introduced me to this song and since then we've been best friends for two years and I've loved everything about this band
The boys are back in town
The riff at the beginning is just too good
2:30 and on instrumentally sounds like something right out of Deafheaven’s book. I’m digging it.
YESS hella Deafheaven vibes on this one
A band I never knew I needed.
I'm addicted to this song.
These guys never seem to disappoint.
There's a balance between playing it safe and really knowing the pocket of your sound. Nothing have straddled that like for the last few years exceptionally well.
CM I think they did play it a little too safe on Tired of Tomorrow, this sounds cool though.

Great song from a great band
Everything
starts the same
Infinity
Oblivion
Light abandons me
Exhale sky
Swallow vanity
Hostage of
unspeakable mistrust
Motionless
migration of dust
Blood that binds
Oxygen and time
Beautiful
rarest plague
Light abandons me
I guess
I wasn't meant to see
Hostage of
unspeakable mistrust
Motionless
Emotionless
Empire or rust
Feverish children
In the Lions Den
Gather them all
Empty sky of everlasting misfortune
The Harvest is dead
Once you try to define nothing, you just made it something, we cannot fathom “nothing”

Super big my bloody valentine vibes across all instruments. But like pretty heavy
the nothing thing is the lead guitar and no synth... I really like the vocals
2:13 a cold fire

Smashing Pumpkins meets Sonic Youth? I'm back in 1995.
Not sure what to think, yeah it's grand but wow! It's heavy/ dark honestly really curious as to how the rest sounds, there tunes have gotten me through alot so deffinetly have to buy regardless 😊
