Bending blades on the longest of days You've encountered in an ice age Keeping time with an old sun Beating down like it's the last one Oh, aren't you so privileged to witness it fall Your observation makes your twice as small In a day, cut a tall tree in two Build it high in the back by yourself Burn it in the afternoon Oh, aren't you so privileged to witness it fall If you for one minute were moved by it all But if you're not caught in the moment I won't mind I won't set my expectations high where they should be What a slippery slope to climb When I find my feet I would soon retreat To a tower made of ivory Where I'd contemplate the mess I've made And take comfort in the temporary
saw these guys live a few years back in a really small record store in savannah,ga and when they played "sedimentary" I literally thought the walls might not survive the percussion, such a heavy sound..even briefly spoke with the lead singer and shook his hand (I know, cool story bro)
Very cool story, those small record store shows are really special. We had one in my town for a while called 180grams. At the time it was one of only 3 venues that had truly independent bands on tour able to arrive
@shakashaka2833 side note of my previous story, I went with a friend who was more familiar with them than I was..he (Aaron) had just introduced me to Cloakroom (Bending) about 2 weeks prior while we were working which gave me enough time to fall in love and crave more of that sound and let me tell you..dude....SEDIMENTARY!!!!....O..M..G..that main riff and its Black Sabbathy vibe, tone, and power with the heavy distortion on the bass and guitar, all while being crammed into this tiny little store shoulder to shoulder drinking $3 can PBR with a bunch of scene kids that smelled bad and looked worse lol it all combined to an energy that seriously felt almost as if it were slightly lifting the roof each time they slammed those strings..not to mention the drummer beats the drums as hard as anyone I've ever heard personally and I'm no expert but ive seen a handful of shows, at least to know this guy pounds drums like the hammers of Thor!!..I was probably only 6 or 7 bodies back from the stage/amps yet it was a pleasant deafening enchantment..pleasantly loud I'll say, unlike Dino Jr./J. Mascis in Jacksonville, FL now that was def unpleasantly loud, and I was at the very back cause I got there late lol
A couple of praises to be made: Love the direction! (Alex) That house is really gorgeous! That is one sick drum kit, love the warm colors and the transparency! That guitar strap is lovely, the guitar too! And what a peaceful song! Am I right? SHIT!

***** Thanks dude, I did a little research and I'm pretty sure it's an Earth G1000, which unfortunately appears to be out of production. I really dig the tone and look of it though.
I want the lyrics for the song. I wanna know if he actually sings "to a tower made of fabric". Also why don't they have a facebook page, I'd like to like them and spread them etc.

This band fucks me up with how good they are.
I love it when band lyrics are just straight up poetry
This song hits on so many levels, and reading the lyrics only makes it hurt so good.
I love the natural approach they took with this video, very tangible
Josh Weisenberger your thinking to much
I disagree, I think the song is about appreciating nature and it is reflected in the video, as josh says.
Cole Heideman Thank you, I just like how simple the video is, different from most music videos
Josh Weisenberger right, lots of natural light, no real plot, things like that. it's nice.
Cole Heideman Yep, in their natural habitat :P
3:14 the moment in the song where it shifts and it becomes this intense feeling inside of my soul😩 LOVE IT
one incredible band, glad I've been able to catch them live
Fuuuuuck why am I so in love with this song.
because it's really fucking good
You know what? You're exactly right.
Meee tooo.. It wont play on spotify anymore (thats why I'm here) is there a such thing as playing a song too many times on spotify?? :(
This one never gets old
great song to think about the meaning of life. Cloakroom is cool
I can't believe it's been 4 years since I discovered these guys... that's like the entire duration of high school.
ApotheosiZ real talk like for real
I just discovered them 2 months ago and they made my trip to various UK art galleries/museums wayyyyyyy better.
I can't believe it's been like 9 years now... I'd give anything to be in my 20s again 😔
@@ApotheosiZ me too buddy

+Diego Fernández de Souza Well the lead singer of hum did guest star on the track dream warden after all.
I don't know what the hell "Stoner Emo" is, but if this is what it sounds like then I like it.
its shoegaze..
shoegaze is like white privileged, I threaten girls who don't fuck me, "my mom bought my honda" shit music.
Lets just call it Stoner Emo....
Mark Ritchie Oh yeah? maybe the new shoegaze bands but not MBV or Slowdive.
Okay I agree with u
i though they were mixing emo music with kyuss, which i don't know why people haven't done that yet
Cloakroom is my favorite band ive found in like 15 years

Is that a zildjian earth-ride on the floor at 00:19?
A song about the man made decay of nature
I just wish I knew more bands like this. Seriously loving the whole shoegaze/indie sound
Wooooooooooooaahhhh.

5 punk rock points go to Cloakroom for the Charles Bronson t-shirt.
So good
this is chill as fuck
Does anybody know where I can find the gif of when the camera moves through the trees like that?!
does anybody know what effect they use on the vocals?! (is it a pedal? live you can see a pedal affixed to the mic stand)
amazing!
siting so good
very cool, keep up the good work!
Rfc when's the pop up videos coming out?
Very nice sound, like a gentler more indie Interpol
Nice one, Alex.

fave thing about this clip is your dog running round 😂
Anybody know what kind of bass head he's using?
sweet
I like this
what kind of pedal does he use for that solo
+shanito2000 sounds just like distortion or fuzz. the sound he's getting is more from his guitar tone. neck pickup it sounds like.
