@Juicygamingnews while you do bring up a great point, you are drastically misunderstanding how aim assist works. Yes, it pulls for you, but that also comes with drawbacks. Say if you're in a room with multiple people, then aim assist is going to fuck you over just as much as it helps. When you keep dipping in and out of 3m range, it keeps turning on and off. I've played both inputs and I can definitely say that MnK is easier to get used to in the aiming department.

Truth is that if good controller players didn't need aim assist, they'd play on MnK. It's just better, but aim assist keeps good players using controllers. That's not to say that good controller players wouldn't still be good without aim assist, they clearly would still be good, but without aim assist, they'd be better off using MnK and that's not an argument anyone can win. That's just how it is. I don't actually want aim assist turned off as an MnK player, just tuned down a bit. Going down to .3 from .4 sounds about right to me, that and removing or turning down things like aim punch and sway that more negatively impact MnK players than controller players. Aim assist also can track through certain visual clutter like thermite grenades for example, so it could also help if they could turn it off when a player has that clutter blocking their view, since it's a huge advantage for controller players to have aim assist track through that clutter. Overall, I think just a bit a of tuning would really help to bring things in line and make for the most fair and balanced experience for everyone. I'd actually also be totally cool with removing a bit of movement tech that's exclusive to MnK to make things more fair as well, or even better, just letting controller players be able to do the same movement. Anyway, no disrespect to controller players, I just want the game to be fair and fun for the most people possible.
That’s all I play on any game that has the option to turn off enemy tracking I’ve gotten decent but man does it get annoying when people with aim assist beam tf outta you
Honestly this makes me want aim assist nerfed even more, you just showed that aim assist isn’t necessary for controllers to keep up/dominate mnk, so why shouldn’t it get adjusted? Lol I mostly kid, but still I gotta say this is a great video. It sounds like the devs are starting to acknowledge that the game is leaning towards controller dominance, so acknowledging that aim assist doesn’t make/break a players skill on the input is super relevant.
they said they're taking a look at it, i don't think they'll nerf it, if anything they'll nerf what they like and that's SMGs, but i don't think they'll remove it comepletely and if they do i'd just go back to MnK cause there is no reason to use roller withouth it's benefits. I'll say this tho, majority of people who complain about aim assist in Apex haven't experienced aim assist in cod, now THAT it's actually broken, every pro knows it and they're not afraid to admit that that's why they're using it.
i agree with COD aa being broken in comparison to apex. that said COD has such a different system in regards to pro-play though, since in COD official competitive ruleset (not ranked or warzone) /every/ pro is input locked to controller ONLY. so even if the AA is broken in a way it's still "balanced" because there are no uneven level playing field vs mnk like in apex, everyone always has the same set of advantages and disadvantages consistently to their disposal.
I agree with you but the problem is that there’s people who are making macro for controller players to give mnk movement. But if we don’t talk about that it isn’t too unfair compared.
@@itsroguely lol >not so bad My dude had to pick the most extreme example to say it could be worse, kek. 4-3 linear 4-4 classic is an aimbot. It's not long range aim bot but it is for close:mid. Which hey, majority of fights in the game. Wdyk. I've played gm-top 100 on console and pc for over a decade. Done thousands of hrs on both inputs. You really are cappin if you think the AA in general hasnt gotten stronger over time. AA's problem is sheer consistency on said distances. If you have 95% accuracy, at all times, for most ranges where it matters, then there really is nothing else to say. You dont need to worry about recoil punch, visual clutter, detacting from track target, real hard readjusting, etc. Only mechanic you need to consider is recoil control. That's it. When you dont have AA on, suddenly, you lose consistency. Which is the biggest problem with AA existing in the first place. But it's not a big deal, right? So why are you so hardstuck on dickriding it if you know you can handle without? Is it maybe for the fact that maybe consistency is really powerful in general and that lil voice in your head knows you are full of shit saying you're fine without?
Anyone else think this video format was different than expected? I was hoping to actually see the gradual progression from day 1 to day 7 (which i assumed the video was about because of the thumbnail and title) but most of the video is talking about playing with no aim assist With no actual gameplay progression.
yeah that's the main thing i took from this, I like the format of story telling BUT I did end up cutting a bunch of gameplay parts to make the vid under 20 mins but it did ruin the gameplay part of the video a lil bit. I appreciate the feedback, will take it into consideration for future videos
@@itsroguely good to know you are on the same page, I understand not wanting to make a 40 minute video just wish there was more gameplay. Explaining how you contacted other players and got advice to help progress isn't bad content, I just was expecting more gameplay

What happened when you turned aim assist back on afterwards? I feel like that is an important piece of info as well. Would doing this improve overall skill with aim assist back on or is it just improving your no AA skill?
Good vid, one think about no aim assist is that disengaging from fights is alot easier, meaning you get all you yaw speed right away vs first breaking from the aa grip then you get full speed. And i think all they need to do is remove rotational aim assist but keep the slow down.
I had a very similar experience when I turned off aim assist for a while. My mid/long range was still okay. Micro adjustments weren't terribly hard to make. But tracking up close with any smg or the wingman was.. not good. I only played mixtape the first day and it was hell. Around hour 7 was when i could really start to feel myself tracking better and was finally on par with the top players in the lobbies again. All the days after were significantly better. But those first few hours suckedddddd. I almost gave up.
@@biggiecheese2004 not really if you want to be the best you still need practice but what he voided is the fact that aim wise you need less practice to have a great aim on controller, literally the 1st accuracy controller player is 51.47% while the 1st accuracy mouse players is only 37% something, huge gap ngl
Not convinced a normal person would achieve that level of competency in that short a period of time. Dope Production/Editing and dope vid overall though!!
as many people have said.. if the game removed aim assist, a vast majority of "pro" players would lose their jobs. EDIT: And it seems you can manage just fine without aim assist. You literally can have same level of aim as on MnK after few days of training So why the hell is the auto aim even a thing? It's just like if they enabled it on MnK.. I had to train for months 8 hours a day in training range to even have a half decent aim on PC and still barely at 0.5 KD (and i'm not some PC newbie.. i've been rocking mouse and keyboard for 20 years 8 hours a day.) Console players just enable their aimbot and can just laser beam everything.
Turning on aim assist doesn’t not make you a better player and it doesn’t just improve your aim to the point your 1 clipping everything that moves you still have to practice aiming those people that are really good at controller I guarantee have put in the hours to get to where they are which is why they can produce similar results with a bit of practice after turning it off. Yes it takes time to adjust when it’s off your use to the crosshairs slowing down when you’re close to or on target when you take that away it’s almost like increasing your sense and you over shoot your target “ I know this because I’ve done it” so with time you adjust to the non slow down and you get back to or very close to what you were before. Now when a good player goes back and turns it on they go through another adjustment period where now they’re undershooting targets and they feel slow but this is short lived because now that the muscle memory is there for little micro adjustment “which is way harder on control than a mouse “I know this because I play both” that’s when the demons come out because now it’s slow they have the mechanics to adjust with in the range that’s assisted and life becomes way harder for everyone that’s within their crosshairs. Your average player isn’t doing that these are people that get on talk shit and go to sleep they’re not putting in the hours it takes to adjust to that level and unless they got full on aimbot they’re not competing with nobody that’s put those kinda hours in controller or MNK period
@@Icycrackedpanda Agreed that turning on Aim assist isn't everything.. configuring it well is. Ngl seeing u struggle and calling this a challenge is pretty funny to me because thats just normal for every MnK because we actually have to aim with our own hands 100% and not just 60% xD.
The problem is that sticks are worse at aiming but I've been playing splatoon on my friends switch maybe we could use the joystick + motion controlls as an option but i need to test that out.
controller is so easy and op thats why everybody switched at the pro level ....i started on controller grew up on consoles than switched to pc during covid decided to learn kbm because i enjoy apex movement but my 1 clips and ability to 1v3 hasnt been the same and ive mastered kbm now....aim assist is needed for those casual players but becomes way too op in the hands of any consistent player

I feel like seeing this in a video is not as accurate as if you did this on stream. We can't see all the games, this could've been the 1 good game you had without AA - it's not a good portrayal having 1 good game out of 10 games, gives the wrong impression that controller doesn't need it. But in fact it does.
if I include every game i got, it would make the video longer than it had to be. Of course I had bad games here and there, I had games where I didn't do much due to rng/ died off drop and had other games where I got 6 kills but didn't win and other good ones but i didn't like the flow. the point of the last game wasn't "hey look how insane i am, check this baanger game" it was all about the progress of getting used to not having AA. I get your point, i really do, but imo that would apply if the final game was about getting a high kill game without aim assist, which it wasn't the point but also I agree, doing this on stream would've been better, but I don't stream as of rn unfortunately
Aside from ranked, in pro league, I believe people should be contending with their own abilities 100%. That's what a competitive player is supposed to be. Why would people go for a pro who is assisted 40~60% by aimbot?
Great video!, But i think you should watch this other video to understand AA vs MnK from another perspective. I would link it if you want, i don't want to be disrespectful a link a video to another creator. BTW: The quality for your videos.... Amazing...

Funny how you looked like an actual MnK player with aim assist turned off. Troller die hards are just too lazy to actually get better at the game. Enoch saying that it takes a lot of skill to be great at troller is exactly the same with MnK. The thing with troller is that the skills floor is much higher vs MnK and the skill ceiling is much more lower vs MnK. Heck this is why most pros are switching to the inferior input.
All this could easily be fixed if MnK and Controller simply had different lobbies but than again u might need to wait for an hour with the amount of MnK players left in this community
You proved your point on the first day. You have hundres if not thousands of hours in apex. You are a good player. Then when AA is off, you lost all your games. The game is aiming for you.
If you have a bit of common sense, you would realize that aim assist is really strong, but you still have to aim, when you remove AA suddenly, you wouldn't be used to it. So of course it would take days to get used to (coming from an mnk player)
bro how do you even come to that conclusion? its called muscle memory if you are used to aiming a certain way bc of aim assist now its completely off muscle memory throws you off. he just proved that without any aim assist he improved a lot in a week. bc his brain had to relearn a new pattern

@@itsroguely Way late of a reply, but as someone going from about 3k hours on MnK Masters to switching to controller, I have found playing without aim assist to be pretty easy to get the hang of when I decide to do it. Obviously not performing as well with AA on, but I think since we are already used to raw input, this type of raw input on controller feels pretty natural to us.
The solution wouldn't be to just delete aim assist but to also add gyroscope functions. They are true controller demons who use gyro functions on games like Team Fortress 2, Splatoon or even CSGO. The solution is here but it would honestly scare most casual players because they'll have to seriously train and run routines to master their inputs like it's commonly done on mnk.
@@beansworldlive yeah it is. It just takes some getting used to if you already have controller muscle-memory built up. Once you get past that barrier your controller potential will shoot up.

@@itsroguely Thank you for responding, I'm aware of this, but what what I meant and sorry for not being clear was turning off the extra yaw and pitch might be better for consistency when playing without Aim assist is what I'm assuming since you said that the biggest benefit you would get out of that is when you have aim assist turn on.
I'm not a great player by any means I'm just throwing it right there now, I can sometimes win 1v3's but thats rare, 1k damage is not hard as long as team mates go together. As a non aim assist controller player for more than a year, I definitely agree that controller players need some form of aim assist. Preferably a slowdown aim assist rather than magnetism, I think apex both has those which is why it's so good at close range. I dabble a little bit on the aim assist on apex at firing range and a little bit on control mode and oh boi they weren't lying when they said it aims for you at close range and as said in the video it hurts you more when you try to compensate at close range better to let the aim assist work(I was playing max sens linear when I tested this). Mid range however is I think is pretty decent, long range feels like u dont have aim assist at all. Also tap strafers is one of the main reason why I think aim assist is needed, I mean these monkey strafers going bananas and you expect us controller players to track that without aim assist? I don't use aim assist but still. But I agree that close range is pretty hmmm for aim assist. Again this is just my perspective, I don't have a vast knowledge or experience regarding aim assist on apex.
Like if 100% of the mnk players could do all the crazy superglide tap strafe bullshit…. I play mnk, I know how to do those stuff, so I exactly know when I see enemy players using them, and belive me less than 5% of players can actually use those techniques correctly and effectively.
I've allways liked to deactivate aim assist so mk player could not say that it aims for me, it also feel way more rewarding getting a kill this way and it help a lot for when u get back to using it. Definitely something everyone should try at least a bit !
it does feel way more satisfying when I got kills without it, and yeah they can't say it aims for us. Back when I was on Mnk I never understood the hate towards roller players, so weird to me
Such a funny video. Stacking in pub games. The irony that you are both saying aa is not completely necessary and that this challenge of playing in public matches for 1 week without it is the hardest thing you've ever done is icing on the cake. People act like a great player isnt great solely because of aim assist meanwhile not a single solitary pro player would ever dream of competing without it really says all that needs to be said. Its not really worth discussing if its overpowered or not when the sample size for people that don't utilize it in competitive play is 0. Its like asking if using a mouse with your keyboard helps. You could play without it and just use keyboard to aim (literally how fps shooters started) but literally nobody would do that.

AA wouldnt be so broken if TTK in this game would be fast. Like 175 shield for red armor. Longer the TTK the better AA will be.
@@itsroguely lol
>not so bad
My dude had to pick the most extreme example to say it could be worse, kek.
Bro, watching you play without aim assist made me realize that if they removed the aim assist everything would be more enjoyable, honestly.

Good vid, one think about no aim assist is that disengaging from fights is alot easier, meaning you get all you yaw speed right away vs first breaking from the aa grip then you get full speed. And i think all they need to do is remove rotational aim assist but keep the slow down.
No ones talking about the production of this video

I had a very similar experience when I turned off aim assist for a while. My mid/long range was still okay. Micro adjustments weren't terribly hard to make. But tracking up close with any smg or the wingman was.. not good. I only played mixtape the first day and it was hell. Around hour 7 was when i could really start to feel myself tracking better and was finally on par with the top players in the lobbies again. All the days after were significantly better. But those first few hours suckedddddd. I almost gave up.

as many people have said.. if the game removed aim assist, a vast majority of "pro" players would lose their jobs.
My friend followed a few guides on how to completely remove recoil on controller and since then he's laser beaming everything. He literally has to move his thumb for not even an inch to completely nullify the recoil..
Try no aim assist on a controller tho. You only have a small stick that you use with your thumb. It’s difficult
sticks is not equal to aiming with your hand, lol stop complaining

Lol I used to play no AA, but the issue is. What's the point you just get shit on by level 40s with AA. And then when you run into a person who can actually strafe, it's hard af. The amount of hours you have to put in is a lot too

I get your point, i really do, but imo that would apply if the final game was about getting a high kill game without aim assist, which it wasn't the point
but also I agree, doing this on stream would've been better, but I don't stream as of rn unfortunately
Aim assist is busted it needs a fat nerf
Aside from ranked, in pro league, I believe people should be contending with their own abilities 100%. That's what a competitive player is supposed to be. Why would people go for a pro who is assisted 40~60% by aimbot?
Once you turn it back on...

At least they have to make some delay or leave only slow down thing 🤔

All this could easily be fixed if MnK and Controller simply had different lobbies but than again u might need to wait for an hour with the amount of MnK players left in this community

You proved your point on the first day. You have hundres if not thousands of hours in apex. You are a good player. Then when AA is off, you lost all your games. The game is aiming for you.
My first 2k hours were on mnk, i switched in october of last year
If you have a bit of common sense, you would realize that aim assist is really strong, but you still have to aim, when you remove AA suddenly, you wouldn't be used to it.

I would love to use something like fli k sti k on roller, but my Xbox controller doesn't have gyro and Apex doesn't support it natively.

yeah it is. It just takes some getting used to if you already have controller muscle-memory built up. Once you get past that barrier your controller potential will shoot up.
love hearing controller players trying to downplay how OP aim-assist is, Love how he points out "In order to be come the best controller player" that it involves an immense amount of skill, Just like every PC fucker out there has only his input and that´s it, while controller player corssair will slow down to almost a full stop if a enemy gets in frame and then if he's 30-35m away the aim-assist can just kill the target for you, its stupid to downplay aim-assist - plus the start of the video you did super good without it on, I´d call that pure skill and it looks like most PC players out there, few shots off here and there - Example, if i got into Control game mode as Juckrat and i´ll get beemed in secounds i change to Bangalore and soon as a smoke the enemy i never get beemed, its super strange.

Its not really worth discussing if its overpowered or not when the sample size for people that don't utilize it in competitive play is 0. Its like asking if using a mouse with your keyboard helps.
