- I, Xeratricky, the #1 Mouse and Keyboard player in the entire world wanted to find out if Aim assist was really overpowered. So I decided to test it out for myself by switching to controller for a week. Is Aim assist really overpowered?

Honestly I'd play controller if i found it any fun. I just find it boring with 0 immersion.
From my experience it takes way less energy to do it, so if you're grinding 10 hours a day then its definitely an easier option. As a casual I'll definitely be sticking to M&K for the fun factor.
i also got bored of it after a while. MNK just feels so much more satisfying knowing it’s my raw talent
I’ve been mainly a controller player for the last 20 years and I even throw in some mnk these days to change it up and make it more fun. People often ask why I play both but it’s because when I’m exhausted and wanna just chill controller is the way to go, if I’m looking for more fun and have the energy to sit up at my desk I use mnk. I feel like they both have their place and as far as skill goes I play pretty close to the same level on both inputs, I feel like it’s more about one’s skill and game sense more than what input they play on
As an Mnk Player who has tried controller because of its op-ness, I agree. I cant stick to it simply because i find it boring.
@@Ethan-yg8me I think its game dependant. If the game has aim assist and close range fights are important, then controller will dominate.
If there's no aim assist, the M&K dominates. I think M&K has a higher skill ceiling in most games, but some its even.
At a pro level people only chose inputs to win, and don't care about fun/ fatigue. Its the game dev's responsibility to make it all balanced.

Its very true but at same time could you blame a mnk that is frustrated and unmotivated to go competitive because of aim assist? can you blame the top mnk player for giving up cause he doesnt want to switch to that demon input ?
@@w0uffv379yes I can blame them. Mnk is far superior to roller in almost every way. I remember on Fortnite people were switching to mnk all the time, even though aim assist was EVEN HIGHER in that game. Roller is not the superior input and I’m tired about privileged pc gamers complaining about my cheap ass controller 😂
Basically play 10-12 hours a day so you can keep up with week 1 roller players.

@@WilzerZ Yes sometimes the room for improvement is to switch to controller (i mean thats not my case i have so many issue to fix and so many bad habit)
You have to take in the game sense and general knowledge of gunplay and zone pull etc still carries over to a different input. paired with having at least played using a controller before and it’s can come together pretty quickly tbh. You can’t become insane at controller easily but you can become decent much faster than if it were swapped. Respect for trying it out though I know I’d be struggling like crazy switching to mnk.
Also curious what sense/dead zone you were playing on during this?
i was on 4-3 linear no dead zone and i agree it helped that i knew the game
The real trick to controller is always moving your left stick and not your right as much. That activates and keeps AA activated throughout your sprays. A casual controller player can have better tracking than an intermediate MNK if they know rotational AA.

U hit the nail on the head. That's y I always hate when roller players try to "show" how aim assist doesn't work that well by standing still and aiming. That lil tiny bit of strafe is what really makes AA OP
you realise you dont even need to move left joystick when you have stick drift to activate AA. I tried controller for one month on new acc too. I watched lot of genburten to make my settings and I was like how the fuck he play with that much stick drift so i tried myself and then I realise why he purposely have that stick drift personnally i hate it its giving me headache but if you can support the stick drift then go for it
I want to see a controller player that hasn't played mnk in 10 years try this. I learned MNK on this game and it was very humbling for a few months

And this is why on console you literally only See people sniping whilst on PC everybody takes an AR instead because they Can beam over so much longer distances with it Than you Can on console

It’s the scope. When in ads you always have aim assist no matter the distance. The strength of the assist is based on how much area the player takes up on the screen (further away less area). Every scope till a zoom factor of 4x gives aim assist. Sniper scopes don’t. So Kraber is shit every other sniper easily usable whilst using a 4x or smth.

I was in solo ranked one day and you were my teammate using Mad Maggie, I couldn't believe the damage you were doing and I'm on controller. I don't play controller because of an advantage; I play it because I grew up on PlayStation and switched to PC recently. People crying over inputs is crazy to me, when I die, I always think I made a mistake. More people need to own up to their mistakes. Triple MNK just won LAN, triple controller didn't make top 12 and there's still people on Reddit crying about controller instead of just getting better.

@@Xeratrickyyou’re talking about algs. Not your average apex game. And most algs mnk players play the game full time as their job and are able to put in the hours for the better aim. A lot of mnk players don’t really have the time to get that god tier aim that all the algs mnk players have. algs also is mostly long range, which i agree that mnk have an advantage over. However the average game of apex (for me at least) is mostly close range, and even in this guys games, are mostly close range in which controller wins most of the time as long as you have been playing for more than at least a week or 2, you nine times outta ten will win against mnk player. This guy also was able to get a 4k and out gun a full team all on the first day then proceeds to get multiple 4ks and 20 bomb on the second day of playing roller after not playing it for NINE YEARS. Roller players have no room to argue about mnk players whining in this guys comment section because this guy is just showing how broken aim assist is. I know this guy obviously is a very smart player but if aim assist isn’t broken than he shouldn’t be able to out gun almost everyone at close range and get a 20 bomb all on just his second day of playing roller.

but look at the percentage of controller players to mnk players. no shit if you’re in the top .001% of players your aim is gonna be top tier no matter the input. but you literally saw how he dropped 2k in his FIRST game of controller. to the average player, the fact that someone who hasn’t touched a controller in years drops a 4k like that is pretty insane. if mnk is so much better, why tf are there that many pc players that play on controller?
His verdict is "Mouse and keyboard are cry definitely babies". Like 5 sentences ago he said, "I found myself one clipping people on accident". Then proceeds to hit diamond in 1 week of controller. So I can see the mnk argument heightened here, the shots mnk players miss, controller will hit for you.
It’s not even a question. Ive also picked up the roller from time to time in apex, just to see what the hype is about. Even though i felt super awkward moving/looting i was still one clipping people with better tracking accuracy than if i was on Mnk.

Bro i was tired of my regular games and wanted to try apex legends...the only question is i am rookie player and why does it has predator which looks like higest skill player in the game in same lobby as mine...i dont even stand a chance i see them like 1000 miles away n the by the time i react they are on my face one cliping me...they say mnk have movement advantage bro i just started i dont even know all legends how am i suppose to perform complex movements...and how i am i suppose to learn when i dont even have a single chance to win a game...the only kill i got in 10 games was a rookie player like me who was lvl 5 ....i have two kills in total playing 10 games one was a free bee...how the hell i am matched with players who have 1000 to 10000 kills in the game...wtf how am i suppose to have fun??anyone has same problem??

It only started to be cheating when they started doing things like automatic swap, jitter click and these things. I just did normal tap strafe and nothing else. If people hadn't started abusing the accessibility options to barely play the game (Automatic things, neostrafe, etc.), it would never have been banned.
And it's still possible to tap strafe on the roller, but you have to make sure your control is detected as a mnk within the game and it's not complicated to do, but it gives a lot of delay. I myself played without aim assist for a long time and I preferred it that way. Aiming becomes faster. The problem is the delay it gives.

Just realized that my issue is game sense. Naturally, I’m “better” than you on controller since I have ~2000 hours on it but I can’t get past plat 1 despite knowing my mechanical skill is higher than that. Guess I have to use my brain more and stop trying to ape brain dead fights

Its not just aim assist its also the frame rate that can affect it . When i look at pc controller with 0.4 aim assit they beam more that console aim assist 0.6 . I did some research. The higher fps makes a massive difference. If you put the pc rollers on 60 fps like console they will hit less

.4 is much stronger on 240fps. try it again with an fps cap of 120 which I’d say most people can afford for graphics on pc.

Whats the point I never played on mnk and I tried it today got 20 kill 4k dmg in the same lobbies as the one ur playing in they are literally noobs. Mnk has no recoil u can just jitter aim easily I just warmed up in the range for 5 minutes its easier than controller. 1 thumb vs whole hand.

I dont think aim assist on controller conpares to mnk at all. U lose alot of the easy movements cause there's no scroll will. U can't loot while moving. And aim assist only works from like 15meters away. Not any further or up closer
