Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on TH-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on TH-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on TH-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Yet another illustration of why Dire Straits is one of the greatest bands ever
Dire Straits was and always will be,like star.Shining and shining . Deep Love
Greetings from Canada. Saw them live (opening act: Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble!) in the 80s. Fantastic! The crowd favourite on the night was Private Investigations, blacked out- with the explosions of light, colour, sounds and music. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
ty for sharing fellow Canadian, I've always wanted to see this song preformed live.
Ah memories - living in London 1983 , listening to Dire Straits with friends driving around Southern England from Uni . Seems like yesterday .Good to see they're still being discovered and enjoyed. Us Brits definitely had the best bands back then. This is a new arrangement ten years later but the crowd exploded when the original opening was played !
Yea I was living down there in those years attending polytechnic of the south bank 😂
I hated the course but loved London. I saw them practicing in a hall room in a back street off st Pancras!!!!!
Wow that's amazing that you saw them practising! If only London was even 1/10 like it use to be, Not our capital city any longer. I grieve for what it was in the 80's or earlier and thankful that I am now too old to see the country's final fall into chaos.
@@steviealessi the rot started in London in the eighties unfortunately. Foreign investment from Russia China Middle East etc made it the money laundering capital of the world. Its no longer part of England. But then again many parts are taken over
I had an eclectic taste back then. Everything from Frankie goes to Hollywood. Depeche mode pet shop boys. Japan. Joy division. Even some bowie George Michael and Madonna 😂
How right you are. Once England really was a lovely place to live and that was not lost on those born here . We thought ourselves lucky not to be touched by the corruption and appalling behaviours and cultures of some of those overseas. Now as you say the rot has set in . I pray (probably in vain) that we can muster some sort of metaphorical bleach against that rot and get back some semblance of this lovely nation. I am not sorry to be old now and that I wont see its final decline , Thank god. tho
A true masterpiece! Listen to it again with your eyes closed and let it transport you. It's magical.
From the best album that they produced, such an evocative song that puts you right in the Smoke filled office of a gumshoe PI
Mark and DS never do the same thing exactly the same yet always perfect .
Mark Knopfler is Genius
The boy can play. :) Also I happen to like his voice and the kinds of stories he tends to write about in his songs.
At heart, Mark Knopfler is a storyteller. His voice is perfect for this, and this song exemplifies this beautifully . His talking style here puts you in the dark on a corner in a show of rain, your cool wet, but determined maybe a smoker's cough. All that just from Mark voice no one else could do it.
One info the most unmistakable opening riffs, like many DS tracks. The acoustic is pure pleasure to the ears. Slow smooth and subtle.
This was dire straits last ever tour 😢 because Mr knopler thought it was all getting far to big for his liking and he went solo you need to check ✔️ his solo music 🎶 it's amazing 👏.
The saddest thing is that this moment cannot be duplicated and will never happen again at any time.
What a stellar performance! The tension throughout is almost unbearable... Thanks for a great reaction 👍
❤simply lovely
There is so much to this song. Remember it's a metapoetic song, according to Mark, about the process of wroting songs... and that's just a start, then comes the frustration of writing, and the heartbeat in John's bass. What a noir almost classical piece of music. Incredible!
Yeah live is what you really want from DS! This version is sublime, although I personally like the Wembley 1985 versin more, because it has some more raw edges on it left. Although, Phil Palmer does an awesome job at the backing guitesr, along with Danny Cummings on percussion . The rest of the band non withstanding, they are all great.
Thanks buddy. I am a fan of you. More Dire Straits please. This band is ridiculous. Now you know.
My favorite CD from them. Every track is better than the album version. Originally available only as a Dutch imported cd way back in '93. The crowd was amazing
Great reaction to my favourite band. Some DS band members came & went over the years from the original line up but one man stayed with Mark K all the way through until they broke up - Bassist John Illsley who is still recording & playing today.
Mark; Hey guys, i have this idea about a song that is basically intro, bridge and outro. Rest of the band; awesome!
Saw this tour in Albany NY. This was my favorite performance of that night. Thank you for your reaction.
Legend !!!!!
It boggles my mind that this band has largely disappeared from public consciousness. They are right up there with Pink Floyd for creativity and live performance quality.
Definitely not from mine. I have all their cds on regular rotation. Plus Mark has his own solo works that I also own some of on cd and also spin them regularly.
They are still out there individually and sometimes together ,and still superb .
Check out the studio version sometime...
Yes, I understood it being from the perspective of the PI and not anyone else.
In Switzerland we want the musicians to prove there worth the money too, before we go with the flow. But dire straits didn't have to proof that! Mark is just a genius in creating the right mood for the song. And even he is mostly story telling with his voice, he can sing! And he wouldn't have written about 15 or more film soundtracks if he couldn't catch the right mood! One of my favorites, and watch out they put out the whole alchemy concert for me in Europe tomorrow 8pm, in the states it would be 11.09.23 2am east 5 am west i believe, but you can catch it whenever it is worth it!🫶!
Should be banned playing acoustic like that at a rock concert especially as he was taking the piss out of that last lick there, that's just crazy 😮😳 🥺
LOVE YOUR REACTIONS, I CAN SEE YOU LOVE GOOD MUSIC. GIL FROM ISRAEL
This is Nimes France !!! Amazing
I personally prefer the Wembley '85 version however still magnificent :-)
Hello Escobar 's cousin
What have you got at the end of the day? What have you got to take away? Bottle of whiskey and a new set of lies, blinds on the window and a pain behind the eyes.
Story of so many not so great work environments.
The version from " Alchemy " is better IMHO, but, Dire Straits live is ALWAYS great
Great version, though I prefer the Alchemy live version…
Not the best version of private investigations
